I was on the floor for this show. It was about 16 months after my son was diagnosed with Autism. It was really hard. I was an on and off again emotional mess drinking too much and probably partying too much whatever that means. During Fast Enough For You, I completely lost it. The lyrics "It isn't nearly fast enough for you - its what I was afraid of stumbled into view." Those lyrics hit me hard. I interpreted them as if I was speaking them to my son - basically saying or interpreting it that the world moves fast too fast for you my son. Will never forget that moment. And looking back, I had no idea that Trey too was really struggling in his personal life. I think he felt sad during this version I really do. You can hear the pain. This is is a special show on may levels just like 2/22/03
It was complete and utter hedonism, just complete fucking mayhem in every possible way, all the time, always.. it wasn't good, a lot of people got in a bad way (myself included) during this period..it ended up being not good for pretty much anyone involved in the scene back then.. but goddamn it was so much fun. Crusty Monkeys in urban jungle. That was winter 03.
I've returned to this show so many times since I first heard it back in 2003. It's one of the best shows of 2.0, very balanced and high energy throughout. the 40 minute Simple > Jibboo that ends set 1 is insane and then Tweezer and Seven Below in set 2. Wonderful music.
Very grateful to whoever filmed this whole show. My first few shows were at Allstate, but I missed this one, due to being stationed overseas. Can't wait to catch their upcoming October shows in Rosemont.
This was my first show!! I was so sad and disappointed when they went on their hiatus as I just got into college and wanted to tour a lot but HEY!!! we have then back and cant wait to celebrate 15 years later at the same venue!! Thanks Frank!!
SET 1: 0:01 Rift > 6:06 Rock and Roll, 16:24 Guyute, 26:55 Driver, 30:40 Waves > 39:28 Simple, 57:45 Gotta Jibboo SET 2: 1:17:23 Tweezer > 1:38:14 Punch You in the Eye > 1:45:50 Fast Enough for You > 1:54:05 Seven Below, 2:16:22 Pebbles and Marbles ENCORE: 2:33:35 Golgi Apparatus, 2:38:22 Anything But Me > 2:43:37 Tweezer Reprise
The Simple and Jiboo (top shelve) that closed out set I are both gorgeous! Set two opens up with Quality Tweezer>pyrite and keeps going strong. Excellent Allstate Show... Thank you
2003-2004 was like the death of the band's original self. Paige is balding but looks the same, Trey is oxy'd out despite his attempts to look energetic. When they restarted after 2004 it didn't feel like a continuation but in some ways an entirely new recreation of the band. An extreme happiness some response to the super dark moments 03-04 were prone to.
Ok well of course you're correct cuz Coventry was the death. BUT 2003 was awesome with the totally different jamming style that harkened back to 1993 I'm mostly talking about summer. Saw 2nd night Deer Creek, star lake and IT. Deer Creek gumbo is an all timer. Also saw 2-21-03 and it was decent Didn't see an 04 shows. Wasn't going to go to a show when I knew it would be my last. Then did see a deer Creek 2009 show and wasn't impressed and haven't been back, it's now summer 2024

Pebbles... oh yeah. Annnd in 2017 we have "Everything's right so just hold tight" LOL oh well. Pebbles is poetic, beautiful, light and savage. such greatness. 03-04 some of the best of their career..
Very good upload, I was able to catch Bonner springs Kansas in July of that year 03’. Not been able to find the whole show on UA-cam. Any chance anyone knows of it?

This is a great Tweezer if you're a fan of darker experimental jams At 1:33:00 it starts to finally pick up steam and then on Trey rips. I prefer the happier more energetic build of 2/28/03 but this one has a nice finish i.e. 1:35:55 :)

We will never be able to explain the magic of early Phish shows. Man. It was NUTS. Space energy shit.

is there a stronger opener???
I was at this concert! Excellent show and lots of energy!
This is great! I especially love the onslaught of ads that interrupt every jam! Gargle my nutsack UA-cam!
the pebbles and marbles jam starting about 2:26:03 is a head-melting sensory assault that’s some of my favorite music these guys have played
2/26/03 is a great show! Def give that one a spin

Jiboo jam is awesome 😎
Gibbo and Pebbles top tier, great show top to bottom

In my opinion, this is by far the best Gibboo ever... and the Tweezer (although not quite as good as 2/28/03) is up there too.
You can hear the underpinnings and early stages of the themes in the 2.28.03 Tweezer in this one. It's marvelous.
Everything is right

Was there...no video anywhere I've seen. Audio only.
Audio and video isn’t synced. At least during FEFY
Enjoy this folks...there'd be so much woo'ing if it happened now.
I'm wooing rn can u hear it

Agree bro 2/28 is pure fire tweezer. But I do enjoy the darkness here and the ending climax. The start of jam is super funky as well
Good Stuff!!!
By the way, this sound quality is FANTASTIC! Sound board quality
It is SBD.
