Back in my "clueless" days, I put ash color on top of my bleached hair. It turned green. I ran to the hairdresser the next day and he said, "Well, on a positive note, it does match your eyes". LOL

I used to have fun with the green hair often after I was in the swimming pool.
Somehow, my natural hair color didn't get along with the tons of chlorine that were still used at the time. 🤣

I bleached my hair to dye it pink for the preschoolers I work with since it was about to be valentines day. I completely damaged my hair since I would bleach alot for fun colors. Luckily, I generally cut my hair extremely short, so after it became damaged, I decided "ok, welp, I guess the long hair is about to be gonezo" and cut it all off, shaved down sides and back while keeping a bit on the top like a short boy cut. After doing that and giving it about 8 months, my hair is back to normal :) still gonna keep it super short though since kids can't pull it now lol

@@MetallicMagenta sure, but does it though? Most of those people go back to a darker shade after frying of their beautiful hair because they don't like it either. my friend went to a hairdresser to have hers bleached and her hair got fried because the hair dresser left it on too long and all her hair started falling out from the top of her head and she had bald spots. She was devastated. She even won a law suit against the hair dresser for the damage. So even hair dressers mess up if you get the wrong one. Ive been to salons twice in my life and both times they screwed up my hair I never went back again. I would definitely trust this guy though to do my hair lol

Personal experience, but I will never set foot in another salon ever again after the last "professional" destroyed my hair 10 times worse than the girl in the video's. Her hair looks amazing compared to what I ended up with when I tried to go blonde at a 5 star high-end salon. I had every expectation that they would do a great job and was prepared to pay up to $1000 to get it done "the right way". Yeah... I walked in with long healthy dark hair, and walked out with a fried orange bowl cut. The stylist left the bleach on way too long and most of my hair fell out in clumps in the sink. I had to wear wigs for the next 6 months. I imagine lots of people have had similar experiences, hence why they opt to do their own hair at home.

My hair grows really fast, is mildly curly, and until a recent med change, was ridiculously thick. My hair care routine consists of washing and conditioning around twice a week, combing it while still wet, tying it up off my neck, and otherwise not messing with it. I always cut my own hair because I'm cheap and curls hide mistakes. Sometimes good hair comes despite our best efforts. However, other than a once every 5 years temporary color experiment, real coloring would only happen through a professional or my niece (who was practicing and training to become a professional).

Yes, she looks pale now. I always wanted to be strawberry blonde, I am a light to medium brunette, well was, now I am gray. So in my mid thirties I was sporting a pretty short cut and decided to bleach it and go for it. It did lift more than I expected, and was pretty, but it was too light, it really didn’t suit me. So when my roots came in I just laid on a somewhat half way color and let it go back to normal. Also I had a friend, I would say she was a mid to dark blond and went really dark, almost black. It was way too strong, made her look like a ghost. But she loved it. Unfortunately she wasn’t one to wear any make up, she might have been able to make it balance with some cheek and lip color. And in the end it was her hair! We moved later that year so I lost contact. I wondered if she continued to keep it dark.

I understand the desire to be blonde - it’s been driven into the psyche of women (in the USA, at least) that blondes are sexier, more desirable, and have more fun. Models and actresses from Jean Harlow to Farrah Fawcett to Gigi Hadid - blonde.
The stereotype persists, even if women don’t consciously think it does. It’s everywhere. It blows. It’s perpetuated mostly by older men, though women play a role by trying to achieve an impossible look for most - platinum blonde. It’s such an outdated color, too - who really wants to look like Mae West?
Sorry, I’m rambling. My advice is, if you want platinum blonde hair for a few weeks, buy a decent wig. Don’t destroy your hair. Tedx done. 😊

@@marinzivkovic4662 Blonde and Platinum are the most boring hair colors on the planet. Almost no one looks good with it because they wash out the majority of skin tones, making the skin look sickly or just clashing with the undertones. Not to mention platinum is (not really) a natural color to begin with. Yes, there are people naturally born with white hair that doesn't develop pigment over time, but that is an anomaly and isn't really "natural" for the majority of humans. Aaand I believe blonde was only forced on society as being "the most attractive" because of a certain moustache man who had heinous views on anyone who wasn't blonde. The blonde obsession leaves a nasty, eugenics-esque taste in my mouth. And that's all not even mentioning the fact that a lot of the celebrities that had blonde hair, that were so revered for their blonde hair, (i.e. Marilyn Monroe) were not even natural blondes. Ginger hair is 100x more beautiful and rare to me than basic blonde is.

They just really don’t know what they’re doing. ‘I don’t know why it got so bad from just 2 rounds of bleach’ - 2 rounds of bleach on the same head of hair is really aggressive lightening. I would never on scalp a client twice in a short period of time.
And I don’t know one hairdresser that would attempt an on scalp bleach on themselves either.

Honestly, from someone whose dealt with bad bleaching damage on the past, one of the worst things you can do is chop off several inches because it's damaged all the way to the root. If youre not going to buzzcut, you should try and retain the length so when it does start to snap off you can get regular hair cuts and wont be left with those awful short bob/pixie bleach damaged hairsyles we see.

I don't know why it's such a mystery to people that hair that was coloured with a permanent colour will always be coloured and will respond differently to colouring in future. Why is that? Do they not understand what permanent means? Do they assume it's grown out already? Or do they think hair heals itself somehow?
    Always a puzzle to me.
