I really love this place. There was a small rain storm and everybody left when I was out there, but felt like I had the place to myself. I was so overwhelmed with the beauty and history of this place that when I went in to talk to the Ranger and tell him thank you, I burst into tears! I also am fascinated with Los Alamos and the history there. Always say thank you to your park rangers because they sometimes see the worst of people! This is such a special place, and we are fortunate to be able to get such a hands-on view of the caves.
Agreed! There weren't that many people when we visited and everyone we spoke to, from the visitor center to the gift shop, were very informative! It is such an amazing place!
I grew up in White Rock, NM...that was my playground growing up! There are so many boondocking areas around there...at least there was 20 years ago... You really did the place justice. Too bad Los Alamos has gone on permanent lock down-it was an interesting place to grow up for sure.
Thanks for watching! We did see many dispersed camping areas around, especially west from the park. We were tired and decided to stay at Juniper Campground in the park and it worked out great!
I would hope so! We just followed the GPS from Taos and it took us to the gate! The guards were great though - quick inspection and they directed us on!

It really is beautiful and the history of the place is amazing!
Very beautiful place.
It really is! Thanks for watching!
Los Alamos is not a military base but a national laboratory. (There is a way to get to Bandelier without going through the guard gate.)

@@CupcakeandCornbread yeah it's just a hassle you don't need. Love the video by the way. I should have said that first. ;)
Thank you!
