Ok, a few things... Lovely film, yes. Someone said gentle, or "peaceful"...? With the physical abuse? Hmmph, peaceful at times, perhaps... anyhoo...
Pity lots was left out, there are obvious early cuts to the next scene. I've got a feeling that the coming of age theme would have been, shall we say, a little clearer in a full version.
May interest one or two of you that one of the filming locations was Peel Beach on the Isle of Man. That's Peel castle in the background 😉
Thank you for posting this. I saw it when it was first released and have never forgotten it. It’s never been on DVD, and it never looked this good on VHS.
