    I’m a relatively new watercolorist and just bought a Daniel Smith tube “artist” collection, new Princeton brushes and 100% Baohong paper. I found you by searching for tips in loading my pallet, and couldn’t be happier! Going through your beginner album, I am seeing that you are much more detailed in your tutorials and shares than the few others I am following, and I so appreciate that! I know it takes a lot of time and effort on your part. I woke up today, and purchased this set of primary colors, as the set I bought didn’t have them…and I especially love that they’re 3x’s the size! Ty for this video and I’m positive many more going forward! 🙏💜

    Thank you for taking the time to make this video! It really helped me out with my new set I bought. Now I can mix my own gray without the need to buy more colors!
    Do appreciate your efforts.

    This video is just what I'm looking for. I just bought a primary set because I want to mix my own colors. I'm just getting into water colors since high school art classes (many decades ago). So I've been watching all these videos of people using large numbers of pans of colors. That's too overwhelming. And I just prefer to mix my own colors anyway. Maybe because that's how I learned it, it seems more naturals than picking premade shades. Anyway, that you. I just subscribed to your channel.

      @@KrisDeBruineStudio if i were to daniel smith they just replace the perlyne red into quinacridone rose(pv 19) or permanent alziarin crimson(pr177) and hansa yellow medium(py 97) into hansa yellow light(py3) to maximize the color mixing

    I fully agree with the warning re: buying too many colours at the start. A few years (and many, many) tubes in, I wish I had started with a primary set like this one.

    The purple is kind of weird-looking...

    • @KrisDeBruineStudio
      @KrisDeBruineStudio 5 місяців тому

      That's because of the warm red in that set. It leans towards yellow. So you end up with more of a maroon. If you mixed that blue with a cool red you would get a totally different purple. Check out my channel for more videos on color mixing.
