This is a very nostalgic chart for we 80's big band kids. I was at Foxborough High and this tune was on every competition set and in the folder for every all-district/all-state big band. Great version, great recording and playing across the board. Drummer really had that funky shuffle happening.
When Trent was retiring he had a bunch of unopened copies of this record he put out for students to take. We played this tune a few years ago and it always bugged me that there weren't any recordings of this tune around so I encoded it and posted it for the world!
Hi Tyler. Curious why you chose this piece, from this era? I was the lead trumpet player in '84 and '85. On this cut I'm only covering the high stuff in the 2nd/3rd measure as I gave this score to the 2nd trumpet player to develop his chops. So, why this cut, and how did you come by it? Thanks.
