I've skated the shifts for 2+ years and since the beginning with the 45 degree strap that came on the Cosmo (classic and reliable razors 45 strap). My experience is using it with anti rocker 5050 balance frame, kaltik v2 flat with all type of wheel convo, flat 58 on kizer, flat 60 on rollerblade agressive frame from some TRS, oysi chassis 72 mm on the outside, flat 80mm ground control frame, and with the kizer element 90mm rockered frame. This last mix being my favorite urban setup. I can say that they felt awesome in any of those configurations. And, I have never freaking used the bolts for the soul plate. Not even when landing jumps to flat from 3/4 story high. If you make sure every time that you change the souls with the IFS (buttons that you push to remove the soul plate, i.e. the shift's competitive advantage), the little buttons are correctly fastened, those things will never damn come off. Important to note that I removed the factory liner since day 7 of use, and slipped in my loved Intuition V2. The Intuition is godly made to fit this boot. And that I often use the two or three frame setups already attached to soulplates that I keep, therefore really enjoying the switching frame system. Which I have come to do in less than three minutes both feet change. This skate is special. And I guarantee that the plastic is significantly sturdier and better quality than other brands and/or models. I hope this information has use for anyone interested and doubting. Lastly, get a razors G still if you have fat feet, the shift is medium not wide.
Hey man! Great write up of your experience with the Shifts! You mentioned you use your Intuition liners in yours. Do you happen to also use an insole in them as well? I have the Cults with my Intuition liners but the toe box is a bit tight and am not able to use a full length insole but instead use a 3/4 length one which works well too. I am only wondering because I have heard the Shifts have a known low toe box and can cause pressure. Thanks!
@@Martz604 no insole just the cushy heel pad that comes with the shifts. I honestly dropped all together skates that have a natural raised feel. I only kept my FR1 and those are to skate to the shop or if I want to pretty much relax and cruise like an old man. For performance the Shift with only the intuition and the shift heel pad was the magic combo for me (also no Intuition mini-heel pad). So much that actually, days ago only, I pre order the new Seba CJ white which also are a flat boot with some raise in the heel added by the cushy landing pad for gaps. Hell even the Salomon's were like that and look what/how Joe Atkinson and Julien Cudot ride. That's why also, I believe, the Shift is great for jumping gaps and roofs (if you're into crazy like that). But here's where I will sell you the Shifts, hahahaha just joking. My experience is that even they are my agressive boot since around early 2020, they have also completely became my big wheel boot too. Because of the 45° buckle you can put in the shell, which is the only difference of a Cosmo (and the special trimmed down soul plate kit of course). Which by the way the Razors traditional 45° buckles might be one of the best in the market. And this is my favorite combination for all frames I've tried. I often (very) skate my shifts with rockered 4×90mm frame Kizer UFS Element 90, and since about two months ago also with the big size 100-84-84-84-100 Wizard Advanced frames (!). And both setups are great. Important to say is that the Shift runs tight indeed. I am 28.5 mondo, with very lean body/feet, and the size 10-11 fits me like a tight comfortable tight glove. It took me around 10 sessions to completely break in the Intuition in that boot, and now I can wear the skate for more that 6 hours at one time without removing it. But it's tight! I look forward the Seba CJ as something that is stiffer but even more comfortable to, a) obligate me to squat more on my grinds and be more precise (I skate chassis oysi with 72mm cuz I can't stand slow small wheels), and b) enable me to easier do toe press and toe rolls on the wizard. Because in those two instances an agressive boot has that flex that it should have, and I want to explore more rigidity. After like in a year of now, my plan is getting some pantoffle-skates (slipper soft) like some Franky's or the new Standard Skate. Because again, F raised heel boots bruh, and Standard and USD 7s are flat and you can modify the lift by what size cushy pad you add. Anyways, just wanted to nerd on you because I see you enjoy it. Share me your trip now brother, what stuff u got on your feet and how it makes you feel?
@@ricardozaldumbide8072 Dude, thanks a ton! Yeah I am still swapping between skates a lot, probably a bit too much to be honest lol. But I am enjoying experimenting with as much as I can. I just ordered some Shift Camos for a good price and should be getting them soon. I will experiment with insoles and liners. I want to try the Reign liner one more time before I probably inevitably go back to my Intuitions. There is definitely truth to the idea of once you go Intuition, it's hard to go back to anything else! I think I will mainly use the Shifts purely as aggressive skates but who knows, maybe I will try some bigger wheels but I have some solid free skates like FR1s and Seba High Lights for that kind of thing. Thanks again!
Yeah, I've heard negative things about the skate from the past but they seem pretty good. And, heaps of pros ride them so I had to give them a try 😅 had another roll on the yesterday and they're sweet 🤙🏽
I personally love the flex of razor cuffs. For me, it's the perfect amount 👌🏽 so much so that I have razor cuffs on my 909s. Great for aggressive, terrible for big wheel
Broooo it's Steve the one who bought those chroma wheels from Oz. So funny that your reviewing these skates cause I just sold my fifths and was looking at the greys 😂
@@ShredCitySkatesKelvW nah not yet but should come soon thanks for the help man that was rad of ya. Yeh the shifts look great bro. Definitely worth a comparison with those sls pho sho.
how did you feel on your feet? i heard shift is quite narrow shell but your feet would be quite wide(thats what i heard before on your channel). i have a razors SL with myfit SPC dual liner and intuition premium liner, and i feel quite good/comfortable but i always feel SL is urgly😂. Shift camo looks so simple and nice👍
Yeah so I've come to the conclusion that my feet aren't really that wide, it's more that I have flat feet and it's my arches that have the most problems. Sways and mesmers for a no go.. but the Swifts seem to fit fine, snug. Yeah sl are ugly but they work 🤷🏾♂️
both have their pros and cons... 5ths are heavy.. razors squeak 🤣 i think i prefer the shifts.. but only by a tiny bit. I prefer the backside groove, the cuff, the flat frame, and the weight. But.. you really cant go to wrong with either. Really comes down to how they fit your feet. What are you looking for in a skate??

Razor Shift comes with Abec 9s.
Good to hear your positive thoughts on the Shift. I skate these and they are really great. 👍

They seem to be good skates. Fast wheels, light, and grind fast, too. How's the lateral flex?

My feet are 10.5mm at it's widest(arches) and I'm skating the 6/7 boot
@@ShredCitySkatesKelvW thanks!
@@minseokchoi7857 on Razors you can find a size chart that mention the width as well. I wish other companies would do the same....

Olá tudo bem? O que achou do peso? Achou pesado?
How do these fit length-wise for you? I am a size 7, so I am just curious if they may be a little too long for me since you were able to downsize
So my feet are 250mm, and they fit me fine. Even have a tiny bit of wiggle room 😉 just enough

Haha, I don't man... it's not a skate that I really want to buy.. but if someone gave me a pair, I wouldn't say no
Are you the same size in the sl and shift skates.
Yes, I'm able to downsize to the 6-7 boot.
