Here's how I made some custom Air Force 1 retractable Spider-Man wall climbers. These shoes along with a pair of hand spikes, let the user climb smooth wooden surfaces that would otherwise be impossible. The spikes fold upwards when not in use and are build into some custom Spider-Man Nike Air Force Ones.

I can say with certainty that this is one of the coolest solutions to Spidey-climbing that I've seen in a while. And by the way, for someone who relatively new the art world, gotta say, I'm loving your work (shoes too!)

Love the idea how bout some grappling hooks wrist mounted
Look into the P38 and P40 Army can openers; if you made small versions of them then you could design slides that push them down(open) when you want to climb, and they would double as ice cleats for cold weather.
Put them on the bottom of the shoes and have a switch on the back of the heel of the shoe that retracts them into the open position. Thays what I would do.

Make a Trident that shoots out water with enough pressure to make a big dent in a tree.

Could you make a web shooter that attaches/is part of the hand spikes? It would make for a really compact gadget rather than having two separate things attached to your hands
what youve made are called tree climbing gaffs or "spikes" commonly used in arboriculture for tree access. they should only be worn when removing a tree in its entirety because they will penetrate cambium layer of the tree and make it vulnerable to decay and desease

@@toesnub9676 I get that. I mean, it's not to complicated, but I can see it being challenging, if not dangerous. Even if he could do it, he probably won't because the danger. To arc in the way I assume this original commentor wants, you would need a lot of high voltage. Alone, that's not too bad, but if you aren't experienced it can very well be lethal.

Wouldn’t you want a way to lock in the foot spikes, like that when climbing there is no chance that they swivel all the way round (if swivelled all the way round while up a tree, it could be dangerous)

True but there seems to be an advantage, if you foot gets stucks,you can, swivel it out of position.
I think is better to have you foot slip once then get stuck making you more tired.

Retractable chest armor (Think Ironman 2 at the race) The armor could retract onto your spine or a book bag. No one carries around brief cases randomly.

When you said, it’s easier climbing up than down. It made me think about how spidey never really climbs down. He uses his webs to descend back to the ground. Maybe use some sort of mechanical pulley along with the most recent swingable web shooters you made to be able to climb and then just float back down! I think that would be pretty cool and a whole lot easier! Also decrease the risk of you falling out of a tree with your spike hands 😂

I'm tempted to wear these to school and play hide and seek. I'll just climb up the trees in the school woods and nobody will even think to look for me there because without this gear, it is virtually impossible to get up there
pole climber got small spikes and works well on no bark poles! Tree climbers got longer spikes and super sharp! Both use a weird technique. to keep you more secure: its the flip belt /lanyard- and keep top body away from tree = no hugging it! accually makes you spikes stay locked in better. natual to want to hug tree/ but way more slips.
You could make it magnetic so it sticks to the buildings made out of metal by Attaching magnets to the outside of it but still keep it sharp and sturdy
