I agree with your words, I got a DUDUK, armenian DUDUK, and I recognise it is not an easy to play instrument, it has an special charming and a lot of air well managed. The first notes I took from te instrument send me to rest and breathe totally tired, and I'm not musician. Its sound shakes the soul. greetings from Spain.
Hey there. As a musicologist I thought I’d let you know that your wrong about the dates. The duduk is a flute that was developed by the Arminian people about 5,000 years ago. The oldest one ever found was dug up by a close friend and she dated it to this time. The duduk is made of apricot wood. This is a wood known for its high density and rich tones.
I got to know and love the instrument a while ago. From the first moment it touched me so deeply. Thank u to the Armenian folk. It's so calm and beautiful.

Amazing ....is a word which just touches the lower limits of it's intensity. Amazing times millions...This is a sound made to please Gods(the Armenian Duduk). Piano is amazing, violin, organ...but this music is divine, penetrates souls and carries your ego through time, space, opens unseen and unexpected gates. It is a gift I have to thank the artists for the emotions they transposed into sound.
Its like hearing someone cry while.they are singing duduk is one the most beautiful instrument makes you think how sad and cruel this world turned out jealousy instead of people helping each other they rather film people fighting or bulding on fire instead of helping this music really hits you such a beautifull sound and sad at the same time have blessing from Czech Republic

Is Armenian duduk is special type of instrument? Not really but people play the instrument they know how to make that instrument very especial. Because all the sounds from duduk comes from instrument payers heart , you have to love the the Armenian culture to understand how special it is the sounds of duduk, it goes deep into your soul and heart and you feel fulfilled and calm, no matter how stressful was your day. in listening such a music, and as you say it's the mirror of soul and heart of Armenian people, so we can understand that Armenian peoples culture must be a very beautiful and sensitive one. I'm french, from south east of France (Drôme), and in this department we had a lot of armenian people refugees and very well established for decades, and what appears of them is their calm, strength, kindness and their intelligence. Love them !
