My new steam engine in action. (READ DESC) Wilesco D20.

Just thought I’d post this so that people can see it. I will probably make a video of its own sometime, like a start up procedure or something. I have a smaller steam engine, and I naught make a video on that one too.
The steam engine in this video is a Wilesco D20. It runs on real fire, real water, and real steam.
The fuel used is dry fuel. I use Esbit dry tabs. I have to crush them up with a hammer and flat head screwdriver so they fit in the firebox drawer, but they are nice.
The water I use is distilled water. Nothing special. I do not use tap water or non-distilled water, as those have minerals that cause lime and will eventually destroy the engine. I have used distilled water for both steam engines I own, and both have been fine running on it.
The oil I use is wilesco steam engine oil. I bought new oil, but i still haven’t had to use it as i am still using the original oil that came with my first steam engine. A little bit goes a long way. Oil does come with the steam engines, but just a little ampule of oil. I attached a needle to the end of a syringe, and applicate that way. Im still using the ampule that came with my first engine, but i have another that came with this one.
It is a linear piston engine, with 20 star power (The power unit Wilesco uses) and a speed governor. It has a regular, a boiler drain valve, chain pull whistle, “Smoking chimney/smoke stack” (It’s really the steam exhaust from the steam chest), and a 500ml boiler. The highest boiler psi I built was around 23 psi (1.6 bar). I’m sure it could go higher, but I don’t entirely trust the safety valve to keep the boiler from exploding. 😅
These steam engines are REALLY cool, as they are built with quality in mind. Original Wilesco engines from way back still work, as long as you take good care of them.
