- In this talk on Saturday, May 8, 2021, the subject of the Adam-God Doctrine is discussed: Did Joseph Smith believe in it? If so, what evidence is there that he taught this doctrine in Nauvoo? What did Brigham Young believe about it, how long did he teach it, and were there any changes in his belief over time? When did the Adam-God Doctrine stop being Church Doctrine? This talk seeks to address those questions and more. A Part 2 follow up talk will be forthcoming discussing the Demise of the Adam-God Doctrine, and Addressing Questions and Contradictions about the Adam-God Doctrine.

Hello, I am new to this is, what church is this ?
You know this doctrine is a mystery when even LDS prophets and apostles cant even get it. Sometimes I feel like they feel they are to scholarly to open their minds to beautiful things such as this. When I learned this about 2 years ago it was a wonderful feast of knowledge guided by the spirit. I was a clear and open vessel and was like a child learning from my parents though. To many people put down stakes to receiving the beautiful and higher things of the kingdom. Thank you for the work you do on this, it has to at least raise some eyebrows with the skeptics. Planting the seed is sometimes all we can do. Keep up this great work! Thank you!

Doctrine & Covenants 38:
“1 Thus saith the Lord your God, even Jesus Christ, the Great I Am, Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the same which looked upon the wide expanse of eternity, and all the seraphic hosts of heaven, before the world was made;
2 The same which knoweth all things, for all things are present before mine eyes;
3 I am the same which spake, and the world was made, and all things came by me.”
If Joseph F. Smith didn't believe in the Adamgod doctrine and he was against it that makes Section 138 false doctrine. I searched this doctrine out so much through the scriptures and this is what I found; Daniel chapter 7:9-14,10,12-Ezekial 1:26. And the basis of the Adamgod doctrine Abraham 3:23-24-4:1 also Doctrine and Covenants 107:53-56. When in Christs time when the Apostle said Christ will be with his Father and his Angel's there is only one man that can be and that is Michael the Archangel. So when Joseph F. SMITH said that he seen in vision Adam in the spirit world that is false cause that even contradicts Mathew 5:34. From that Father Adam sat enthroned in heaven even at that time.

Daniel in his seventh chapter speaks of the Ancient of days; he means the oldest man, our Father Adam, Michael, he will call his children together and hold a council with them to prepare them for the coming of the Son of Man. He (Adam) is the father of the human family, and presides over the spirits of all men, and all that have had the keys must stand before him in this grand council. This may take place before some of us leave this stage of action. The Son of Man stands before him, and there is given him glory and dominion. Adam delivers up his stewardship to Christ, that which was delivered to him as holding the keys of the universe, but retains his standing as head of the human family. (Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith, p.157)

The two Protestant apostles that opposed doctrines of the Restoration Charles Penrose and Mark E. Petersen. Both had influence on the prophets of their day Joseph F. Smith and Spencer W. Kimball. Elder McConkie bowed to Kimball & Petersen.

I would like to know the source for the Hyrum Smith Aug 27 1843 quote
“Every star that we see is a world and is inhabited the same as this world is peopled. The sun and moon are inhabited and the stars, and Jesus Christ is the light of the sun, etc. The stars are inhabited the same as this earth. But any of them are larger than this earth, and many that we cannot see without a telescope are larger than this earth. They are under the same order as this earth is undergoing, and undergoing the same change. [On each one] there was and is a first man, Adam, and also a Saviour in the meridian of times, the same computing times and all things in order.” - Hyrum Smith (George Laub’s Nauvoo Journal page 27)
Brigham Young taught the Adam-is-God doctrine-not a theory but a doctrine-and enshrined it in the endowment via the “lecture at the veil” which continued to possibly be taught until 1931 or beyond.
Only when Spencer Kimball in 1976 formally denounced the Adam-is-God doctrine did teaching it cease to be sanctioned.
But channel owners: you need to FULLY reference your accusations, allegations, and assertions to make them useful.
Until you provide, author/speaker, date, page or timestamp in publication or distribution medium, your videos are worthless to anyone-especially those of us seeking the best evidence.

Drew Brineys book "understanding the Adam god doctrine" has shed alot of light on this subject to. More than any online info I've found
And I’ll bet you’re an authority on the subject.
Interesting info. Also many inconsistancies and contradictions. ie. impossible for Celestial body to die.etc.

Is God the father ADAM in your belief?
Every Adam on every earth is a Heavenly Father/God to all the people that will be born of a woman on that particular planet. The Father_God of all those inhabitants will always be subject to his Father and God infinitum.
There is not one God that made all things, but one big grand council of Gods

The temple does not teach anything you are saying . No one taught this . Adam is not God . And it was not Brigham young’s opinion it was poor Brigham young getting misquoted . Very sad . Just not understanding and twisting what they took as notes in his conferences .. I can see how this got out of control . Kolob is another name for Jesus Christ . . Brigham young never actually taught these things .
