- Paul McDermott has been many things. He was one-third of the Doug Anthony All-Stars, along with Richard Fidler and Tim Ferguson.
He has taken his mixture of choir-boy singing and bad-boy anarchy to other great successes, notably Good News Week.
He's written children's books, musical theatre and award-winning short films. He’s event been nominated for a Gold Logie.
So when did he start down the path towards becoming this Australian cultural force? 1982

A great interview with Paul. I have greatly appreciated all of his creation output. Would love to see a longer interview with him.
If you ever get a chance to see Paul in what ever he is doing, do yourself a favour and go. He is a sensational performer, brilliant musician, lyricist, singer, story teller & comedian.
We are so lucky he managed to get into art school the second time. I don't know if any of your are history buffs, but the last time someone charismatic with edgy ideas got rejected from art school things didn't turn out so well.
He may have invaded Tasmania or one of the smaller Pacific Islands.
