You guys are awesome. That is the same way we started out. I have a Loadmaster truck now but with all the extra expense I thing it is faster to use the old dump trailer. It was nice having all the trash bagged. We still have one area that we can't drive the trash truck to because it is really rural so we have our carts at their house but they still bag it all so we just pick and toss. Good job. Been actually thing of going back to the trailer on the residential and just doing commercial with the truck because we have 3yd rear loads at those locations. We use to do the commercial by hand but had to do them everyday to keep it under control. Recycling for us doesn't work because of the cost to haul it. We are 200 miles from the nearest recycling center. We are luck as we have a contract with the Town for the next 10 years. Bad part is they regulate what we charge. We have about 450 customers. As a trash man for 29 years my last time driving for a company at 19 years of working no had a front loader route thru out Los Angeles Ca yes it was nice for awhile.
Gotta get some higher walls on that pickup bed! Maybe a longer trailer too, but I love your setup on that trailer you got. very high walls and a good ceiling to keep stuff from blowing out.

If your transfer station is in any part publicly funded, they don't have a legal leg to stand on by telling you that you can't record. They collect revenue, it's perfectly legal and encouraged to film government officials / facilities. If you want zero resistance, install a 4K dash cam. I've never been denied service at my landfill for having my dash cam rolling.
Does the cities that you work in offer trash pickup? Do you have a Wast Management or any other one of the big Italian disposal companies in your area? Why are your clients picking you.... what is your competition like? Do you attribute your growth to the idea that you are in a more rural area? In the future I plan to give a better financial breakdown. As to start it, via word of mouth I heard about a very small 50 account route list that was for sale, I bought it (route only not business) but it was hardly profitable even with an old truck.....I had to grow, so after that it was like anything else, 1 customer at a time and patience ,patience ,patience!
I'm a trash truck driver for a large municipality. I worked the back of a rear loader for about a couple years. Did anywhere from 300-400 cans a day, manually. Some guys do 600. Slipped 2 discs in my lower back before I turned 30. Please be careful with your tipping method. The only real actual safe way to do that is either when the can is damn near empty or with a hydraulic arm ($$$). People wonder why our unions are so ferocious and it's because we literally break our backs and in some cases die doing this job. Doing exactly the type of stuff you're doing.

Tons of grease fittings, hydraulic leaks, preventative maintenance, tires, etc. But it is the most game changing piece of equipment you can possibly get and your back will thank you. You'll love it. I live in a place where we have to take our own trash so I thought about this but figured people would just take their own trash before paying me. You charge $30 a month and pick up every two weeks?

Man this video is just awesome! Do you have any plans to invest in any class 8 heavy duty trucks? If so I'd start out with a Heil DuraPack 5000 rear loader. My trash company has a whole fleet of them mounted on 2014 Autocar ACX chassis with the L9 Cummins and 4500 Allison. Might be a good starting place! If you haven't already, I'd highly recommend getting your CDL, it would definitely pay off if you plan on getting some heavy duty trucks.

you do the math wrong, 160x20 makes 3.200 USD, and as he said he had 500 costumer, and i think he charges them 30 usd a month. So 500x30 makes 15k monthly. And the extra 5k comes from the roll off dumpster business@@TheCommercialFam

There is no way you could lift the cans i put ou at my house , I can barely drag them on the wheels.. You must have easy customer's who put so little in them.
That’s nasty....many people are actually sanitary and use a garbage bag. If there is a few loose pieces of paper or bottles in the bottom of the can we tip them by hand and will be getting a packer with a cart tipper in the future
Our customers bag the trash, I personally have never had a full can of nastiness.....if there is some loose stuff in the bottom they are light enough to tip by hand

It varies depending on the volume of what the customer has sometimes we do and sometimes we don’t.
