Different path is made to cater Different types of people. Some people can't surrender easily because their mind is very logical so for them we have gyana yoga. Some people can easily surrender then for them there is bhakti yoga. Some people use tantric method to reach the the god is kriya yoga. Tantric practitioners evokes energy out of their sadhana and use this energy to reach god or experience god. Some people uses service of humankind as ladder to experience god. So there are multiple path to help Different types of people.

@@SupariReacts According to Hindu scriptures the human soul goes thru innumerable life times. In each life he climbs higher in spiritual understanding becos spiritual lessons n knowledge he gains in each life are not lost and are imprints on the soul. The person may be born anywhere but his spiritual journey continues from where he left in last life. This is the reason some understand the philosophical concepts more easily than others. They r old souls meaning have gone thru many more life times with increased spiritual learning in subsequent lives. The fact that despite being born in a different religion you not only have inclination to learn vedanta but you understand the concepts quite correct too( unlike your unfortunate frnd).
YOU ARE AN OLD SOUL in this journey of self realisation and probably your soul already has an understanding of Vedanta thru previous life times.
