Nah the vocal performance was awful. The studio version was one of my favourites, but the live performance was not it.
there are so many possible outcomes for tomorrow and that is so exciting! i can see czechia being a surprise Q in 10th place… i also have seen some people saying that malta can get through because cyprus qualified on tuesday but i think that this is a much stronger semifinal with more “girlbops” so it might slightly miss out which is sad because the performance is amazing…

In running order:
- Malta (Borderline - Leaning towards NQ, but there's a sliver of hope after Cyprus and hearing that the performance is quite stellar. But won't hold my breath)
- Albania (Out - Using Poland as a direct comparison, diaspora alone won't help, and I've not seen anything positive about this one)
- Greece (Safe - Should manage on interestingness alone)
- Switzerland (Safe - No further questions)
- Czechia (Out - Maybe not last place, and it has improved. But I don't see much a path for this one).
- Austria (Borderline - Battle of the girlbops?)
- Denmark (Borderline - the dark horse of tranquility among the madness?)
- Armenia (Safe - I hear this is a surprise package and a half, might even do very well in the final...)
- Latvia (Out - Poor Latvia...)
- San Marino (Out - They're going down with a fight though, and Spain and Italy might help them out)
- Georgia (Safe - After having it on borderline for a long time, I'm convinced. I think they have it all, even if I'm not keen on it. And it's been way too long since we've last seen a Georgian Q).
- Belgium (Safe - At least I hope...)
- Estonia (Borderline - I'm shocked at how quickly these guys have lost momentum... should still be enough to see them through, but who knows?)
- Israel (Borderline - I really have no clue where this is going, but it's solid enough to bypass the turmoil)
- Norway (Safe - *rocker gesture*)
- Netherlands (Safe - Despite the negative press of the performance, this should sail through anyway).
In short: This one is so much tougher to predict... Of the 5 borderlines, 3 can go through, and if I had to place a bet they'd be Austria/Malta (THERE CAN AND WILL BE ONLY ONE), Estonia and Israel, with Denmark not likely, but not impossible. It would replace any of the other 4. I'm going to need a stiff drink for afterwards, regardless...
i would very much like czechia to qualify i have seen all the clips from todays rehearsels and it slaps, people are singing, cubes are moving, also the dancers as aikos copies is smtg different so i think it actually can make it. i really like how they are using the cubes bcs other contries are really missing on it i think. i like that czechia also go with something kinda new? i would say. anyways if you like it as much as i do please vote for her it would be big lost for the finals bcs something like this will stand out.
Fun fact: Because Iceland and Moldova didn't qualify the grand final of 2024 will be the first grand final since 2004 that has no returnees . 2004 not only didn't have any in the final but was the last year with not a single returnee within the 36 acts

This time we disagree about just one, Estonia; I think Denmark will go through instead. I enjoy the Estonian song, but I can't imagine people deciding to spend money on voting for it, given all the quality in this semifinal. I also think their place in the running order hurts them, with Angelina Mango coming next. But we'll see!
Same here, I think Estonia will be very underwhelming to many first viewers, I don't think many peopel will take up the phone and vote for a few drunk men on stage (that's honestly how it looks like). I do swap it with San Marino though.

I share much of the same opinions, though i thought that belgium and austria might not quilify because the preshows have been taken pretty seriously by them as pseudo-rehearsals, but have not been great in execution. After the rehearsals i am so lost with my prediction... i honestly though czechia and san marino might go through but now its so hard to predict!! i'm fully ready and prepared to be shocked tomorrow

Same qualifiers , although I think you might be wrong with how far away 11th is from 10th . I think this years semi finals will be scored similar to last years where the first semi final Latvia missed out by 3 points and yet in the second semi final Iceland missed out by I think 30 points which was the largest gap between 11th and 10th ever . I don't think semi 2's gap will be that big but I'm looking for at least 10-25 points

They both thoroughly deserve it, but you can only have 10 through and idk who else could go out. Personally I’d drop Estonia but as it’s a tele vote only they will get through and also I’d like to drop the country you didn’t mention.

The only difference we have here is I have Denmark through and Estonia out, although it could easily be the other way around.
My prediction is the same than yours however maybe there are some surprises because of the stage of Belgium, Greece or Estonia or even the situation with Israel. So maybe there are shocking qualifiers. I hope San Marino can get through because its improvment is amazing or even Malta or Czechia getting through.
I don't know this semi is harder to predict. I think all my favourites have lost a lot of point with their stage presence and the underdogs have improve so much that makes even harder the prediction.
I tend to agree with you about Greece. The first clips from the staging left me a bit underwhelmed and giving more of a “we’re here to have fun” instead of a “here to win” vibe.
The one shot staging choice is strange because for me, a lot of what made people love the music video was the very choppy camera cuts that made you feel like you could never catch your breath. So basically we threw that whole concept away and went in the polar opposite direction?
I personally think it's brilliant. The song itself is quite eclectic and all over the place, trying to recreate the video on stage too would be a bit much, especially for first time viewers. Since the song can't be changed, they're adding some cohesion by filming this continuously. That's how I see it. And the fact that no one else is doing this one-shot take might also make Greece stand out. It's something different.

Ooooh you know what I agree with you so hard. If Greece had some wild camera angles from very far away zooming in on her face while she’s looking directly at the camera and then suddenly cutting to her from another angle and so forth that would’ve been great. I liked the idea in concept but so far in execution it hasn’t hit. I think if it were really a true exploration / walking through something kind of party vibe it would’ve worked but yeah. Either way- love greeces entry and marina and I hope she qualifies!
@@kilyo4397 couldn’t agree more! Imagine a cut to the overhead camera and then zooming right to her face! And then a camera cut at one point on the “TA, TA, TA-TA” right??! And then overall maybe better outfits.
Now with the semi final vocals due to her being sick I’m really really hoping she just qualifies and regroups for Saturday 🥲

I really do think there is a world where "the other country" doesn't qualify, simply because everyone upvotes everything else. So it might even be possible that Belgium and Czechia could make it after all. It's similar to how some people feel Ukraine got sympathy votes in 2022, but on the opposite scale. You can't downvote a song, but you can upvote all of the others to "outshine" the other country potentially... It should be an interesting thing to watch tomorrow. I could also live without Estonia's entry in the final. I think Finland and Netherlands will be more than enough of the bizarre bangers to fit within the Eurovision Puzzle overall this year. In place of Estonia I'd love to see Denmark make it in. Thank you for your analysis and predictions! :)
I think Europapa is the clear clip winner, but live I'm not so sure. Because the imagine in the clip is so good and strong, but I'm not sure if it will translate well to the stage. It needs the visual support to really shine.

I'm actually quite a bit worried for Estonia. They have been so underrated in the odds and from the staging we've seen in rehearsals, it seems difficult for them to fill the bigger room with the exact same performance they had in the national final. But I hope HOPE I'm wrong when I see the bigger picture and not 30 secs of it, and that there will be more variation with the camera and that their charm, goofiness and charisma will shine through. General public can also be different than odds and the fandom sometimes. The song itself is so unique, original and televote friendly, would be a shame if the staging pulls it down. Regardless I will dance and cast a hopeful vote from Norway.
my prediction (and hope at the same time) is that some of the qualifying countries are Malta, Greece, Switzerland, Czechia, Armenia, San Marino and Netherlands.
I have a very similar prediction as you with the only difference being San Marino in and Estonia out (but I wouldn’t mind being wrong about that)
It’s going to be a nail biter…so many good songs in this semi and we will unfortunately have to lose a few. Hope you’re right about Georgia and wrong about Malta!
Usually agree with you Rachel, but I am seriously on the bandwagon for Megara and San Marino. I think they would add huge value to the grand final and financially it would be beneficial for myself as I have backed them @ $5.00 to qualify. I was disappointed Achille Lauro missed out, and I hope the story is not the same, but I am getting good vibes from the analysts who have seen the dress rehearsal and the jury show as well.
Considering Teya Dora qualified from being the second to perform, #2 is only a slot of death if the song is mid honestly, which is the case for Albania.
Denmark, Latvia and Czechia for me are def NQ. Everyone else can Q, it will depend on the performance.

That's a good ranking, hard to categorically disagree with anything really! I do feel Austria, Georgia, Estonia and Belgium are borderline qualifiers and any of them could be knocked out by San Marino, Czechia or Denmark. Intriguing and nervewrecking night ahead! 😮
My "most listened to" list is different than "my SF2 prediction" list. My "SF2 favorites" lists is: Switzerland, Czechia, Austria, Denmark, Armenia, Latvia, Belgium, Estonia, Norway, Netherlands. While my "SF2 Prediction" list is: Greece, Switzerland, Austria, Armenia, Georgia, Belgium, Israel, Norway, Netherlands, and maybe Estonia?

I think you're overestimating Estonia, I think they are in big trouble. I'm getting worried about my own country Belgium, I didn't hear anything convincing from Mustii sadly enough !
My prediction of qualifiers is the same as yours except I replace Estonia with San Marino. That 9th spot is very hard to predict, I think it will be very close between several countries. Czechia's song doesn't make a chance in my opinion, it's way too weak.

NQ: Austria, Denmark, Malta, Latvia & Albania
Sleek 👏🏼
1) Switzerland - my winner! Maybe it's my opera bias, but this has vocals for days and epic staging. They've won my whole heart. 💖
2) Netherlands - this is viral and fun. I'm looking forward to hearing the arena go wild for this.
3) Norway - they know how to put on a show! I think the powerful mysticism will draw people in.
4) Greece - modern, unique AND cultural. A thoughtful genre mashup.
5) Georgia - welcome back! Serving pop perfection that still manages to be distinctive.
6) Armenia - this is just purely joyful. The staging could be a bit more dynamic, but I can't see this not making it.
7) Israel - based on the odds.
8) Belgium - this should be higher up, but the live performance vocals have been lacking. The song is strong enough to make it through, though.
9) Austria - Good dancing and slick production. A bit dated for my tastes, but I think that'll read as nostalgic and fun for others.
10) Estonia - chaotic energy that people look for in Eurovision. Not my thing, but a male-led bop might stand out against the female-led ones.
11) Czechia - I just don't trust those vocals to be solid enough. The staging and fashion have elevated this, though.
12) San Marino - the staging has really elevated this, but I just don't think enough people will back it.
13) Malta - I think this is more based on the issues that they have getting televotes. Based on what I've seen, this performance is STRONG!
14) Denmark - vocals are solid, but the staging just isn't doing enough. The song is also a bit generic for my tastes.
15) Albania - the revamp took away everything that made this unique. Her voice is lovely, but this isn't giving much of a narrative on stage.
16) Latvia - his voice is effortless...too effortless. And the staging is static. It's just feeling hollow, unfortunately.

2) Norway - no surprises there, I got a bit bored with it. Someone get her a hair stylist
3) NL - Viral, where? In some gloomy parts of Northern Europe or Brussels EU headquarters?
4) Greece - Bold. One camera shot, so that they reveal to us how many mistakes can happen on stage?
5) Georgia - Good staging, generic as hell
6) Armenia - It's good, but feels kinda old
7) Israel - I like songs based on war and genocide
8) Belgium - as boring as a song can ever get
9) Austria - Old school fake-rave, even 50 year old ravers won't go for it
10) Estonia - Bad vocals, bad dancing, bad staging, bad lyrics, fun ...not so much in the end
11) Czechia - Awful vocals (and costume), mostly the back up singers do the job, but still
12) San Marino - They came here to shoot a videoclip on stage, no live feeling, forgettable song
13) Malta - I don't even remember the song, only some girl dancing
14) Denmark - Even the word generic is ashamed
15) Albania - The song and staging is so bad that even diaspora won't back it up
16) Latvia - A good song, in the wrong hands in every aspect
I think Estonia might be cooked (and if they do qualify, I don't think it'll be as high as 4th). The staging is kind of bare bones and the songs that come after are gonna get way more attention with the viewers.
I also think that because of the staging it doesn't appeal to casual viewers and they think it's messy

Basically, I agree with your prediction. My qualifies are almost the same as yours, but in a different places. I also think that Joost🇳🇱 will win this semi, I put Norway🇧🇻 very high (my favourites in this semi, but nevertheless they are sure Q). And about Estonia🇪🇪 I think that they'll be a bit lower. My own country (🇭🇷) also had out off the box performance last year and Let 3 was "only" 8th in their semi, so similar I think that could happen to Estonia🇪🇪. I think that potential shock NQ are Belgium🇧🇪 and especially Austria🇦🇹 which i put as 10th. I noticed that you didn't talked about Israel🇮🇱 cause it's very delicate theme (and I absolutely understand you) but I think that they are also qualifiers. Actually as I said I'm scared the most for Austria🇦🇹. And I think that could happen one surprise Q like Czechia 🇨🇿 or San Marino 🇸🇲 if someone flops, but I think that won't be many surprises in this semi. Meow and cheers from Croatia😺🇭🇷.

I just can’t see Estonia qualifying, as an Estonian I don’t get the song (in my opinion it’s just a mess on stage and there is no clear message in that song🤷♀️) and I think rest of Europe and the world will not understand it either. I’d say Malta or San Marino have a much better chance there. But we’ll see. 😌

I actually think Estonia will be the (shocking) non-qualifier. Their staging feels too empty and the performance is underwhelming. I really hope Belgium will qualify, it's my 3rd place overall and I absolutely love this song ❤

The reason that I put Estonia just missing out, is that Estonia is in a direct competition with Netherlands which has more funny and interested song and will steal a lot of vote and potentially nq
The revamp is better than the Albanian version.But everyone was against us last year too and we still ate
nobody is against you lol, this semi is so strong there's easily 13 songs outshining it given that its 2nd in the running order, titan is nowhere near as good as karma or sekret
Greece might not to qualify tomorrow ... Marina's vocals are not good as the 1st rehearsal.....and I think she wants to win but there is no chance and she should know that....now the very Greek cultural theme behind Zari (means the dice) is that sometimes you don't care about what you do a "taking pot luck" or a cavalier approach to life .... and I see she is making many choices like that especially with the staging...after what the audience saw with Ireland the expectations will rise and that might cost Greece the qualification ....

San Marino better go through, need a song like that in Final. Belgium can piss off with that garbage, hope they NQ, I hate that song with passion
Agree with you, but I have a feeling that Greece will not qualify. Many "normal" people I showed this to were pretty turned off, they have no friendly votes in their semi and the culture lovers will rather vote for Armenia. Therefore I see Greece as the EaEa of this year... 🤷♀️ I think San Marino (or Czechia) might qualify instead.

Belgium was very poor
From what I've heard from people on site, the Netherlands was a huge let down, Greece is a mess, and Armenia is really fun.
Netherlands is great People judged Europapa’s performance without a crowd, Joost needs a crowd to shine and he did 2nd rehearsal he burned the house down.
Both Netherlands and Switzerland look a bit underwhelming from what I've seen (given the hype they had). I wouldn't be surprised if there's a shock winner of this semi. I'd love it to be Armenia 🇦🇲
I just wish germany would not partake in the ESC. Almost everything they sent since Raab/Meyer-Landrut was boring and trashy... just embarrassing.
If Germany ever pulled out then we wouldn’t have esc though
I just started loving Europapa. Great message agaisnt EK and immigration that could destroy Europe. I will definitely vote for this masterpiece and of course for Austria.
