Leeds Utd the best team (mid 70's) I've seen in the UK. Didn't really see much of the early 60's Rangers team (born 56) so can't really compare them.

I've been a Gers fan all my life and it's all I've known growing up so I can't comment on other derbies but it's pure hatred during those 90 minutes. You feel physically sick getting beat but I wouldn't have it any other way.

I met a lad when i was in Benidorm in 1987 he lived in a place just outside ipswich called Hadleigh his dad owned a local pub called the Falcons rest .He was a massive ipswich fan we were playing pool then started talking about football he thought i was a geordie lol cos of my accent but i told him i was glaswegian and supported Rangers .For a full week myself and my bird and my new best pal and a big gang of us all from England went out to the clubs and pubs coming home to the hotel i was always pissed out my nut shouting fuck the IRA and singing the Billy boys,followfollow and i was born under a union jack.After a few nights big john and my new pals were chanting fuck the IRA and singing the billy boys lol.My one regret is i never kept in touch he was Rangers mad by the time we left always wondered what became of big john gardener.

Celtic v Rangers is the Old firm derby, Norwich v Ipswich is the Old farm derby! Obviously because of the team colours Norwich fans follow Celtic (Timo Puki) and Ipswich fans follow Rangers (Terry Butcher).It's slways been that way!
Not all Town fans follow Rangers. Back in the day I used to wear a Celtic top and a Blue/White/Black scarf. That confused a lot of people, particularly Rangers fans arriving at Waverley Station for a Hibs game whilst I was heading to Newcastle to see Ipswich. 😆 Was gutted when Butcher joined Rangers and it took me a long time to forgive him. Did get to meet him recently and he was very pleasant to talk to. Thankfully he didn't spot my Celtic badge as that may have wound him up! 😆 🍀

@@jasonjenkins6373 I understand that but Celtic and rangers are never going to truly establish themselves as a big team like they were in the 60's 70's eras, there just spiralling downhill staying in Scotland, the days are gone where they sign big name elite players etc for big transfer fees, If they did bring them to England, they could always leave B team in the league and the winner could be given entry to a play off to enter England or something

If it was the old hampden where we got crowds of over 120 thousand that's some buzz when Rangers scored the fans jumped about so much the dust created was nasty a big cloud of the stuff engulfed the Rangers end. I'm sure plenty of fan's have fond memories of it lol. 1970 cup final against Celtic where 16 year old Derek Johnston scored and the 1973 cup final we won 3 goals to 2 with Tam Forsyth scoring the third goal from 4 inch's out with minutes to go some memories for a kid not even at school sitting on my dads shoulders he would have loved today he was a real diehard Rangers man sadly he passed away two years ago he would have been pissed drunk sitting on the louden bar or the Bristol bar bus.That Bristol bar has got to be on anybody's list coming to a Rangers match best Rangers pub going it can be googled the Bristol bar on Duke st Glasgow.🇬🇧🇬🇧
