  • Uganda people's Defense Forces- UPDF has concluded the recruitment exercise in Koboko district with a low turn up of females compared to their male counterparts.
According to the UPDF spokesperson for West Nile region, Captain Edrin Mawanda, the low turn up was due to age differences, negative attitude by parents, and physical incapability.
Out of 48 slots for Koboko, only 3 females out of the 31 applicants showed up for the evaluation exercises.
Meanwhile, youth in the region have been encouraged to take up such opportunities.
The recruitment, expected to end on 14th July, 2024, targets at least 9,627 infantry forces countrywide.
