- Tipu Sultan's Summer Palace Bangalore Tourism Karnataka Tourism Tippu Palace Teak Palace Bengaluru.Also known as Tippu's Red Palace or Lal Mahal. Tipu Sultan also Known as Tiger of Mysore, was the ruler of the Kingdom of Mysore from the year 1782 CE to 1799 CE.Tippus Palace was Built in the year 1791, the palace was used as the summer residence of the Sultan.Tipu Sultans Summer palace is located at the juncture of Albert Victor Road and Krishna Rajendra, chamarajpet at the center of Old Bangalore near the Kalasipalyam bus stand. The summer palace of Tipu is a Major tourist spot in Bengaluru.
The construction of the palace started during the reign of Hyder Ali and was completed in 1791, during the rule of Tipu Sultan.Tipu Sultan's Summer Palace, in Bangalore,Karnataka India, is an example of Indo-Islamic architecture and was the summer residence of the Mysorean ruler Tipu Sultan. After Tipu Sultan's death in the Fourth Anglo-Mysore War, the British Administration used the palace for its secretariat before moving to Attara Kacheri in 1868. Today the government of Karnataka maintains this Summer palace of Tipu Sultan.
The structure was built entirely of teak wood and stands adorned with pillars, arches and balconies. It is believed that Tipu Sultan used to conduct his durbar (court) from the eastern and western balconies of the upper floor. There are four smaller rooms in the corners of first floor which were Zenana Quarters. There are beautiful floral motifs embellishing the walls of the palace. The site also holds a painting of grand throne visualized by Tipu Sultan himself. Coated with gold sheets and stuck with precious emerald stones, Tipu had vowed never to use it until he completely defeated the British Army. After Tipu Sultan's death, the British dismantled the throne and auctioned its parts as it was too expensive for a single person to buy whole.
The rooms in the ground floor have been converted into a small museum showcasing various achievements of Tipu Sultan and his administration. Video and photography is not permitted inside the Museum. There are newly done portraits of the people and places of that time. There is a replica of Tipu's Tiger, which is in the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. Tipu Sultan's clothes and his crown are present in silver and gold pedestals. The silver vessels given by a general to Hyder Ali is also displayed.
Farsi inscription at Tipu Sultan's Palace, English Translation of it reads-
As soon as the foundation of this palace was laid,
its head was raised to heaven with joy.
Oh, what a lofty mansion, a home of happiness,
its summit being above the skies.
It is a house of glass in purity,
all who see it are struck with wonder.
In magnificence it rivals the sky,
which hangs down its head with shame.
The description alone of this palace, when heard by Faridiin,
It caused hira to go to his long sleep.
I sought by computation according to Zar(2) for the date,
and an unseen angel said-"A house of happiness," 1196(1781 A.D.).
When the painting of this new palace was finished,
it cast the beauty of China into oblivion.
I sought for this date from Khizir(3) the wise,
who said- "Doubtless it is envied by heaven,"

You belong to the last varna shudra. Brahmins, kshatriyas, vishyas and shudras are the 4 pillars of the society evn if one become weak the society collapses. We can't imagine our lives without any one of them. As bhagwaan krishna has said swa dharme nidhana shreyaha. We have to do our dharma accordingly. As a brahmin it's my duty to do nitya karma(sandhya vandanam), pooja of bhagwaan, learn vedas and teach everyone. A Kshatriya must perform his duty by becoming a soldier. A vishya's duty is to strengthen the economy of the country and a Shudra's duty is to do seva example engineering works, plumbing, Repair work, Construction work(architect or civil engineer) almost all other works should be done by shudras only. We have to follow this dharma only, now a days brahmins are doing a job of vishyas Or shudras and vice versa. Shastras clearly prohibits this. We want the punya according to shastras but we can't act as mentioned in the shastras, how is that possible. We are all brothers. If we don't act like brothers then others will make use of it. I hope the people will understand and change back to what we were. I hope I'm not hurting your feelings. If I'm hurting you, I'm really sorry.

Sir, After watching your video we had been to the summer palace with family and this was not the 1st time.. But this time we took guide Mr.Govind. After hearing the historic facts we were amazed about this place. And the details explained about the history & it's significance of this palace. which we wouldn't have known without a guide.. There charges are also minimum Rs-100 only. Which is absolute worth every penny. Recent fact we got to know was "Two canons" which got discovered during the metro excavation work. which can be seen in one of the painting Inside the museum.
