That EXACT same animation was used twice in the show, I think. I know it was used atleast once in one of Vorg's fights. Vorg was doing the literal exact same dodging animations during his fight with either Ippo or Sendo. I forget which though.

Essentially making ippo the realization of the kind of boxer kamogawa wanted to be. Im not sure if you get that in these first few seasons or in the manga but thats basically the idea behind this reference.
To everyone that has been touched by hajime no ippo, its atmosphere and aesthetic, this opening is really special: First, it's Ippo that sings and we see him, standing in front of the doors, just before the fight agaisnt Sawamura. Then, we have a calm part where we see what Ippo has to fight against : the demon Sawamura Then, the song start rising progessively as they show all the people that has been really important in Ippo's life. Finally, the song blows, and Ippo rises against the demon. And, I didn't even mentionned the power of the lyrics: Basically, Ippo says that, we are a lot that are lost in our lives. But, if we listen to what's deep in our heart, we will find the purpose of our life. More than that, we will realize that the answer has always been there, in your heart and right in front of your eyes. So, if you take the first step right now, if you rise, you fly high, you'll be able to see the meteor showers, that is the world that you've always dreamed of. Personnaly, I started to watch Ippo a few months ago. Thanks to it, and to other things that happenned, I found the purpose of my life (but like seriously). What's funny is that it was as Ippo said, I realized, that the answer has always been there, and I didn't even knew the meaning of the lyrics at the time. Luego te pone en primer plano un enfrentamiento entre 2 persona que han conquistado el mundo mirándose mutuamente en el brillo de lo mas alto del mundo con plumas cayendo de un Halcón o un Águila que en ese momento nadie saber de quien serán. Después continua con escenas de entrenamiento, el esfuerzo del prota, la dedicación, los buenos momentos, por quienes pelea y que lo motiva. Tiene una transición con los rivales del prota que ha dejado atrás, pero que ellos buscan alcanzarlo y otros solo ver a donde llega. Finalmente empieza con la luna llena de fondo y el prota lanzandose sin dudar hacía su rival, el entrenador alentando e inspirandolo. El rival mostrando una cara siniestra para luego mostrar una sonrisa y un sadismo demoníaco al cual el prota tendrá que enfrentar con mucha determinación. Cambio de escena a un águila dejando caer plumas sobre un ring en el cual no hay nadie a su alrededor y en el centro conectan un Halcón determinado y un Águila poderoso demostrando que están en igualdad. Finalmente nos muestran el como Ippo va siguiente su propio camino, pero del mismo modo se ve la sombra de alguien del pasado en el, como entrena y algo dentro de Ippo esta surgiendo, nos muestra su balanceo de su estilo de box, pero con una pequeña diferencia.
That part where ippo was throwing a right straight then the shadow of young kamogawa appears at ippo's side is a great way to show how the teacher passed down all his experience to his student and how ippo don't betray his teacher's training and showing off proudly what his teacher thought him.

I am boxing now since two years and this anime makes me feel like I could take on the whole world. I still have a long way to go but I always stay longer than anybody else and never give up... I love boxing and just recommend everyone to try it out
I kinda don't recommend taking boxing lightly.You can permanent injuries from boxing alone so yeah you either dedicate yourself to it or do it for fitness.
2024 here, there’s hasn’t been a season 4 yet and I haven’t finished yet but looking through the comments and listening to their opening it’s heartbreaking because it’s kinda like a finale in a way since there’s no season 4 yet 😢
This anime saves my life. I started watching on Christmas 2023 and I'm just about to finish it. I had rough days and I've been fighting depression. I always come back to this anime when I have to push myself to the limit. I've stopped playing video games too much and watching at degenerate things like porn (the worst thing ever..) Now, I'm just focused on my goal of becoming a coach. I run 3 times a week, I box 3 times as well and I like to workout twice a week. Whenever I have time at night, I watch episodes of Ippo but I'm near the end of the anime.. I'll read the manga Animes like this one are gems. They can save lifes.

there's some genius composition and transitions here. Like at 0:15 when the camera zooms on the letter A on the poster, then transition to Sawamura on his bike in a shot that uses the letter as the composition. Then it repeats here at 0:20 zooming at the S letter but with Takamura vs Eagle instead. Then when they start showing Ippo's past rivals starting from 0:31 until Miyata, where the shot of his face moves to the right so to make your eyes follow him preparing the viewer for the transition to Ippo dashing in the same direction, where he aims at Sawamura, i like how at 0:46 From Ippo's pov we see Sawamura from foot to head, because Ippo,an nfighter and a short one too, focuses more on his opponents' feet when close. at mark 0:57 is my favourite,i like how when Ippo punches the light source moves to the right,then Young Kamogawa appears to the left exactly where the shadows on Ippo would, maybe i'm making this up but i like to think how it represents how Ippo carries Kamogawa's legacy in his punches and that young Kamogawa,who belongs to the past is being shadowed by Ippo as the one to carry the torch.
I was watching hajime no ippo when i was a child but the quality is low so i cant really appreciate the fighting scenes but when i watch these a year ago with 480p i was like. These scenes are better than those new animes out there

Now they become a sinking ship.. This is what happen when a lot of their staffs left to MAPPA, and you can see how MAPPA dominating in recent years because a lot of their staffs are from Madhouse, and ironically the person who created MAPPA was also a former Madhouse staff. Not to mention a lot of their important figures left the studio as well, such as Mamoru Hosoda, Yuasa, and Takeshi Koike..

2024 here, there’s hasn’t been a season 4 yet and I haven’t finished yet but looking through the comments and listening to their opening it’s heartbreaking because it’s kinda like a finale in a way since there’s no season 4 yet 😢
This anime saves my life.
I started watching on Christmas 2023 and I'm just about to finish it.
I had rough days and I've been fighting depression. I always come back to this anime when I have to push myself to the limit.
I've stopped playing video games too much and watching at degenerate things like porn (the worst thing ever..)
Now, I'm just focused on my goal of becoming a coach.
I run 3 times a week, I box 3 times as well and I like to workout twice a week.
Whenever I have time at night, I watch episodes of Ippo but I'm near the end of the anime.. I'll read the manga
Animes like this one are gems.

KNOCK OUT! Hajime no Ippo : The Rising Opening Yakan Hikou by Wasureran ne Yo. This opening is actually the only opening in the show that didn't use animations from any actual fight scenes.
0:35 Interesting Detail. While everyone else looks determined, Volg looks like he's on the verge of tears. Look how jagged the linework on his mouth is, like it's quivering almost. Makes me feel so bad for him. Trying to put on a strong face for his mom.
July 2022, discovered this masterpiece of art, storytelling and action 3 years ago, Hajime no Ippo will always have a special place deep within my heart, tbh i dont care if we ever get a 4th season, the manga just as amazing. Thank you George Morikawa!

After spending 8 days reading 700 chapters of the manga, I finally understand this comment.
Its 2019 and he still hasnt lol, but a certain couple of chapters have layed the seeds for a possible crossing ;)

there's some genius composition and transitions here.
Like at 0:15 when the camera zooms on the letter A on the poster, then transition to Sawamura on his bike in a shot that uses the letter as the composition.
Then it repeats here at 0:20 zooming at the S letter but with Takamura vs Eagle instead.
Then when they start showing Ippo's past rivals starting from 0:31 until Miyata, where the shot of his face moves to the right so to make your eyes follow him preparing the viewer for the transition to Ippo dashing in the same direction, where he aims at Sawamura, i like how at 0:46 From Ippo's pov we see Sawamura from foot to head, because Ippo,an nfighter and a short one too, focuses more on his opponents' feet when close.
at mark 0:57 is my favourite,i like how when Ippo punches the light source moves to the right,then Young Kamogawa appears to the left exactly where the shadows on Ippo would, maybe i'm making this up but i like to think how it represents how Ippo carries Kamogawa's legacy in his punches and that young Kamogawa,who belongs to the past is being shadowed by Ippo as the one to carry the torch.
I was watching hajime no ippo when i was a child but the quality is low so i cant really appreciate the fighting scenes but when i watch these a year ago with 480p i was like.

Not to mention a lot of their important figures left the studio as well, such as Mamoru Hosoda, Yuasa, and Takeshi Koike..
They can only blame themselves for their downfall after treating their staff like shit.
