I find that either of them saying that they're not gay is exceedingly humorous.
You'll notice that Sherlock NEVER says he's not gay, though he repeatedly says he has no interest in women. Coincidence? Naaaah, the universe is rarely so lazy, right? ;)
Twisted Sonnet they both tend to be careful with words and very private it's all about what they are not saying. Sherlock never said he wasn't gay or straight just that women didn't really do it for him. John said he wasn't gay and "of course it's a woman" but he never once said he was straight, just not gay. Thus we can assume Sherlock is either gay or bi but mostly into men or asexual, and John is either straight or bi but mostly into women. None of these of course covers that they both very well could be straight but in love with each other.
Kaylen Pickering, you have a pretty good analysis there. However, I must object to the eventuality of them being straight: I can't imagine a way Sherlock is attracted to women, or John not attracted to men.
In my opinion, Sherlock is gay (and pretty much ok with it) and John is bi (and very self-conscious about it).You can see it not only in what they say or don't say, but also in what they do or don't do. It's slightly less obvious that John is also into men, I guess, but the words "Sherlock" and "straight" in the same sentence just hurt my very soul x)
Anyway, the one thing I think we can all agree on is they love each other :)
I don't think anyone can argue against that it's to obvious that no matter what kind of relationship they have there is love there, and it's adorable.
