Thank you for your session on Alm setup. We are going to setup our second alm fed drive module in the next couple of weeks at our plant. Your session information has been extremely valuable.
One more question about DCC. In the upload from drive can not upload DCC how can I do if my motor module damaged and we don't have the same type of it or it already obsoleted ?
You can make the changes online without having to do a download. Changing p10 to 3 will allow you to update the module type online. I will try and show this on a future stream.
@@jasonwattsae I will waiting for this stream soon. And more question please. About DCC programming. I wonder about the motor speed setpoint which I will send to the speed setpoint 1. I don't understand about the Per Unit value and the value 16384. Can you explain the relation between the PU value (max 1.0) and 16384 value please?
Sure! The PU (percent) value is scaled according to the p200x value to 16348. I looked at this briefly in this week's livestream, but if you look at the help file for the parameter it will tell you what it is scaled against. So if you want to run 50% speed you would send 16384*.5 (or better yet 163.84*50) to the parameter. Since the values are Int values you will need to do the math in real then convert to Int. This math works for values over 100% as well... 16384*1.10 (or 163.84 *110) will send a 110% setpoint to the controller.
Yes! It can put up to 200% current back onto the line (for a short period). Watch last week's stream about ratings, and know that the ALM can do this both motoring and generating. The only problem you can run into is if you lose your connection to the line (breaker or contactor opens) so do not open your contactor on an Estop unless the estop is on the panel itself. If the breaker opens while the ALM is regenerating damage can occur!
I would have to look at what version of STARTER is built into that version of SCOUT, but I think it would end up upgrading the project. V4.5 is quite old. 5.x has been out for at least 4 years...

I am happy it helps! I love these , but they aren't always simple to set up.
Thank you for your quickly response.

Here you go!
Active line can regenerative when quick stop motor without fault and without R brake ?

Can use STARTER or SIMOTION SCOUT version 5.3 upload from CU320 with download from STARTER version 4.5 ?

@@jasonwattsae Yes the old machine at my plant the CF card of CU320 version is 4.7.
Can I upload it with the STARTER version 5.3 ?
Yes. You can use any version of STARTER/SCOUT that is 5.x or higher.
