The irony is that through some Penny Dredfuls Springheeled Jack became something of a superhero abet fictional and these types of stories (along with the Scarlet Pimpernel and Zorro) ended up influencing Batman rather than creating villains for him to fight.
I think we may have found Bob Kane's inspiration for the Batman himself.
Here in the Czech Republic we had our own version. His name was Spring man (Pérák) and he fought against the Nazis during WW2 in our capital city od Prague. He was stealing their weapons and giving them to the Resistance. But he was mostly scaring the Nazis. He wore a gas mask and no weapons. Even if he is just a legend, he is pretty cool. He also had his iconic spring shoes.

"Once upon a time there was a man called Jack. He had a pumpkin head and a talking lantern.
The lantern was dying, but she didn't want to abandon her dear lifetime friend Jack. But she couldn't help it. Her last word with Jack was:

Steven King wrote a few stories about him, there was also a bar band that used to tour the tri-state area here in New England USA
Can you do a video on the Wild Deserters? It was a World War One story told by soldiers about maruading groups of men from British, Canadian, French, Australian, German and Austrian that had left their units and formed their own society among the abandoned trenches and shell craters of No Man's Land. They would supposedly emerge during the night and scavenge the dead and dying for weapons, rations and ammunition. Other stories claimed that the men weren't human at all and came out to feast upon the wounded on the battlefield. Pretty creepy
People back then had a sense of humor almost like today,
I think Spring Heeled Jack was a group of pranksters later turned evil when they started making elaborate "pranks" and competitions to see who could scare the most people, and some attacked and attempted to kill people with iron claws, then they got away with ropes send down the sides of the buildings leading to the rooftops hideouts and then they went home like regular teenagers
