You are so right. I said the same when I heard the song when it was released. We all loved young Courtney but she is gone now and not coming back. I love her new musical style in this song a mix between pop and swing. I think we will hear many mixed stills in the same song in the future. She has had her attitude and style of clothing since she did the four covers. I think she found herself there and what she wanted to do musically.

I bet you weren't so tired from cutting the grass after watching that video by Courtney. 🤪 She's got that spark that makes you move to her music. Spot on, about those who want Courtney to stay that little 13 year old rocker from AGT that we all love. Remembering back when I was a kid loving certain albums by any of the great legends of the past and their next follow up albums I was expecting more of the same, but they moved on and changed it up moving forward. Back then I might have been disappointed by that, but today I'm hopefully wiser and realize we all change as time moves on and learned to be open to what's next. But it's hard to fault those who won't adapt to Courtney changing and also moving forward. If you like her 13 years old from AGT, then her videos are always available on YT. Hopefully we like Courtney just as much now and do our best to support her career. Pretty sure Courtney will supply plenty of legendary performances no matter who she evolves into. Spread the word I say. Courtney is better than ever.

She will be an icon. Her songs are well constructed, relatable and timely. If anyone can bring rock back onto the radio...it's Courtney. You should check out her other recent drop, "Breakable".

She picked her influences and did some great covers, but she’s in her own lane now! Expect her music to continue to evolve and morph as she finds her way in the world. I was a fan then, and I’m a fan now.

Hi. Absolutely terrific song by Courtney and the lyrics are brilliant. It has such a good vibe that you can't listen to it and not to want to move with it. It's a complete 360 in style from her first release, 'Breakable', which was a ballad, and just serves as a reminder that Courtney can sing just about anything and do it better than anyone else. If it wasn't Courtney singing, and you weren't aware of the incredible versatility she has, you'd be surprised that both of these songs could come from the same artist. Not only is the song fabulous, but the video is a work of art and perfect for the song. I think you hit the meaning of the video perfectly, first to do so, but I think there are several messages here, IMO. First, Courtney is singing, as you say, about, among other things, no longer being that 13 year old girl everyone fell in love with on AGT, and which a core group of fans want her to remain, which of course is impossible. Courtney, with her incredible creativity, used that theme to drive the video, in such a unique way. Old/young Courtney sees new/current Courtney and follows her through the closet/looking glass into a whole new world, in this case Wonderland. Secondly, for the last four plus years, the labels have tried to twist Courtney into something she didn't want to be. Courtney stood her ground and said 'No'. Fortunately for all of us, she did, because no one else makes music like Courtney does. It's only my interpretation, but at the beginning of the video, when someone comes to the door asking her to sign something and she turns them away, this represents the labels, with whom she is done with. Now that the labels are gone, she has released two fantastic originals in the last month and a half. Courtney has said that now that she is in control of her own music, expect a release approximately every month, so buckle up. You're going to be busy and it's going to be a wild ride.

@jerryevert644 Courtney’s been dealing with labels for almost 5 years and all they did was try and twist her into something she didn’t want. To be another pop princess. Thank goodness she had the strength and character to say ‘No’ . Not many would have. When Courtney’s destiny is in her own hands, amazing things happen. She’s released more incredible new music in a few months than the labels did in years. This is just my opinion, but I think the most important thing to Courtney is to be releasing the music she loves.

For most people, being 18 is a bit terrifying. A lot of 18 year olds go away to college and lose touch with many of their old friends. At the same time, their brains are rapidly developing, even while having more access to drugs and alcohol. It's easy to lose your way.
Courtney seems like she's fast forwarding through a lot of that and figuring out who she is and wants to be both as a musical artist and as a person.
She's definitely not the kid who throws herself down on her knees or flip flops onto her back. She's a grown woman now. She knows brutal truths about the world and how people behave. My most genuine hope is that she holds onto and honors the little girl inside and doesn't let the world take away that hope and idealism.
The world is broken and people exploit one another - especially today in Western Europe and America - but this world is SO much better because there's a Courtney Hadwin in it!
