i think we need to find the root cause of endo. there have been women that have had 7+ surgeries and haven't been helped. some of them have found with diet, lifestyle and herbs, etc.., there are helped. The medical community NEEDS to find a solution to painful periods. there are sooo many women suffering so much every month. it is a terrible and painful burden. we need studies and answers! surgery isn't the answer for many women neither is the pill. PLEASE HELP!!!!
Padma gives me so much HOPE. She is a true hero and inspiration for those suffering with Endometriosis. I was officially diagnosed with Stage 4 Endo in August 2011 at the age of 30 and I am currently undergoing Fertility Treatments so that my Partner and I will one day have our Miracle Baby. All the way from Canada, thank you Padma for bringing comfort at a time where there is fear, self-confidence issues and heart-break due to suffering from this disease.
As a man, what can I do to make things better for my girlfriend? Having sex does not make relationships in my mind. I just want her to be pain free, happy and hopefully fertile. I don't know what our future is but it saddens me to think she may not be able to have children... I just learned about it today from her and right now I am pretty close to crying for her. Why can't I control this feeling? The more I learn the sadder I get.
Let me tell you something. I am in U.S for 6 years now. Ever since i stopped eating my cultural food and started eating American food ,i have been in pain during my period. Back home i used to play two hour soccer, run a long time, play sports while in period with no fucking pain. I started hating my cultural food and wanted a change until i met with pain as a debt. What i did was to go back to my ethnic food . Breakfast is taking several spoons of grassfed butter, ghee ,raw eggs, milk and ethiopian coucous full of iron responsible for stopping period pain ,lamb meat and eating lamb liver. I dont have period pain anymore. Watch out any processed food you eat it has painful result. I hope that helps.
@@nemaidriss9301 thanks. I had a feeling it's the food here in US making us sick. I've had endometriosis since 11 years old, and didn't get diagnosed til it landed me in the emergency room in the hospital. After going to numerous gyno, and doctor's the ER diagnosed me at 28 years old. I'm 31 now and fighting every day
I am truly grateful for her sharing her story with us. What I'd really like to know is whether she is still suffering and if not what has she done to try to rectify the issue. Thanks again for sharing.
I have suffered for years with this. Stage 5 endometriosis and 5 surgeries. There seems to be no end to the pain and fatigue. I'm thrilled padma is raising awareness. I was blessed to have two kids. But because of endo I'm a couch mother..
I have endo and PCO (Poly Cystic ovaries). I have suffered severely with my periods since I was 13. With the exception of the first 6 months after surgery on my endo and PCO I have never lived without pain. I am about to go for, yet again, more surgery so I can rid myself of pain. I am 42 and will never have children. Unfortunately I have a severe case of both so I've had to live my life knowing I'll always be childless... Children are the only thing in my life I have ever wanted. Life can be cruel..
Thank you for sharing this I would have never known you were suffering too as you look so perfect and healthy- it's good to remember people may be going through a lot and you may never guess it to look at them. I've been struggling the past few years and finally this year was diagnosed with Adenomyosis (similar to endometriosis but the extra endometrial tissue grows within the uterus's muscular tissues rather than outside the uterus) and fibroids, causing me unbelievably heavy periods, flooding, spotting, breakthrough bleeding, overwhelming pain, and severe anemia. It has been very hard on my health and social life and even my marriage. I'm not even focused on my fertility at this point, just want to find some relief. Will be trying a new Gynecologist in a few days as the one I've been seeing the past year has been extremely unsympathetic and barely helpful. It amazes me how strong women can be, but I find it sad that we need to suffer so much in our lives.
It was so nice hearing your story. I as well was diagnosed at 28. I have struggled with infertility for the last 8 years. I have had two surgeries and the endo kept coming back. I do need to tell people out there that there are ways to manage your symptoms through diet. I have now been managing my endometriosis for a year. Endometriosis can be very frustrating, painful and devastating. there is hope! I have started a UA-cam channel to help suffers like myself. I now post recipes and lifestyle tips to help others.
Thank you for spreading the word about Endometriosis Padma! I was diagnosed with the disease when I was 23 years old and have been struggling with the symptoms since I was 16. I went in for my first surgery in April 2007 and now a month shy of turning 29 years old I am going in for my second surgery. You have definitely given me strength that I will be able to have a second child. I was definitely blessed with my miracle daughter!
This is REALLY amazing. When do celebrities do this? This is going to make thousands of women feel better about themselves. Wow. Good on you Padma and Redbook. Awesome. Beautiful role model.
You just gave me hope Padma I have stage 3 Endo and I was told the same concerning pregnancy. You have no idea how much your story just blessed me. And gave me hope that the same could be true for me with pregnancy God willing. God bless you thank you. I'm not alone.

I love how confident and real she is. That makes her even more beautiful.

This definition is incorrect and that's a huge part of the issue. Founder of an Endo organization with incorrect info on the disease. So frustrating

+Ben Z Your compassion is so touching and refreshing.
Thank you, in the end it was my girlfriend at the time who ended up comforting me about it ironically.

A mostly raw food diet and emotional support. Lot's of fruits and vegetables in their natural state,it will take a while but it will help.
