Рабо Карабекян yep. I learned from this video. She explained the little steps to take to actually learn how to do it. All other videos just say do this and that’s it.
This is super helpful for us beginners because you show yourself teaching beginners! Wayyyy too many “tutorial” videos have a pro demonstrating the finished product or moving way too fast through a description. THANK YOU FOR YOUR VIDEOS!
Great instructional videos. The mechanics that you teach translate well from the videos to actually trying them on the ice. Best videos I've come across on techniques.
this is by FAR the best video i've seen on teaching the moves needed leading up to doing an actual back crossover. very step by step progression and moreover it makes sense! thanks.
This video, along with a video made by the channel itrain hockey are what taught me how do backwards crossovers, and now I can go backwards at top speed, and it really helps with playing defense, because it allows one to gain a lot of speed going backwards
Hi, Philomena. Thanks for watching our videos. We shared your questions with Elizabeth Curtiss, the skating instructor who appears in the backward crossovers video.
Her backwards crossovers are very clean, very precise. I can do good backwards crossovers including the crossunder, but I can’t do the crossunder on its own.
I'm figuring this out..but how do you stop when doing backwards cross-overs? Do I just slow down? When I try to stop I fall bc my feet get all tangled up :P So any tips on how to stop when doing backwards cross-overs?
Elizabeth said: "To stop moving backwards you have to do a back stop. So you should stop crossing, glide on 2 feet, go in a straight line, and turn one or two feet with your toes going away from your body. The feet will go behind you to stop. You have to create friction with the ice. In order to do this, the feet must turn out. This is tricky to try on your own. I would suggest taking a lesson or two."
Best video I’ve seen yet. Better flow than most rather than a hundred little steps you’ll never remember.
Probably the best educational vid about backward crossovers on UA-cam. Really helpful. Thanx.
