I remember many nights when I was a 6-year-old kid in 1964 and hearing "The Continuing Story of Peyton Place" when mom and dad would be watching it on TV in the living room. Oddly enough, that is a very good memory of mine. BTW, the same announcer also did the classic 60's TV show "Lost In Space" as the announcer and the voice of the robot.
He was an excellent actor. The fact that we despise George Anderson so much proves what a great actor he was. He was robbed by not being nominated for an Emmy for his performance of George Anderson. Best actor on the show.
@@suki44883 They did give the character some dimension. He was pretty courageous. Sad how his wife and daughter (and the show) forgot all about him once he was committed. Did they resurrect the character later in the series? I've only watched the first couple of years so far
henry beckman and kasey rogers, after leaving'peyton place',went on to 2 other series.beckman went on to play another tippler, captain clancey on'here come the brides'and rogers went on to play larry tate's wife on'bewitched'!
But boy what a transformation she made between being Julie to Louise. In PP you can feel the intense pain & sorrow of Julie in her face & body. I didn’t realize what a good actress that she was.
Excelente serie, me trae muchísimos lindos y bellos recuerdos; y sobre todo buenos actores cada quien en su papel, admiro a Mía Farrow, Doroty Malone, Ryan O'neal.....sigo capítulo x capítulo, gracias.
This is how they did the blocking in front of the camera for these sorts of dramas at the time. Soap Operas use this too. I remember as a child thinking how weird it was turning and walking away from who you were speaking to. Its weird and usually they will pivot back toward the person they are addressing or that person will come up behind them. Thanks for mentioning this.
We can speak in many ways , with a look, a touch . Even if we speak what we don’t say speaks in mammoth prope rations, in the right circumstance. What of surepitous words, or clostured talk. To purposely mislead the train of thought. Often not peace but a train wreak ensues.
The scriptwriters are gonna be very cruel and sadistic with Dr. Rossi´s character, he is gonna have a long list of brief relations with many women who he´s gonna fall in love with, losing them all in a few weeks because of terrible streaks of bad luck from circumstances and facts beyond him. He´s gonna be the example of the honest guy who does every thing right and work hard on it, time and again, only to always lose it all because he was born under a bad star. That was one of the most powerful hooks that retained many women interested and "hooked" over the Peyton Place series, even when the story started to lose cohesion and became tiresome, there was still interest about if "this time at last" Dr. Rossi could get the girl.
I think it sets the mood for what is supposed to be drama back then. George sure is tiresome but such a good actor, so believable that we are mad at him.

So addicted to Payton Place. Thanks for adding these old soap dramas
It's about time someone clocked George. Go Julie.
It's about time Julie stood up to George and knock him out!!
she clocked him
@@SandyCheeks63564 She really did!!
Yeah or leave him!!!! Dude, what a no braıner to marry les!
George is so crazy and weird. very entertaining

i like that the cast isnt that big
Mrs Anderson is a wonderful person.
Yes, she deserves better.
good old telephones
Darn right. My cell phone won't work reliably where I moved to, so yeh I've got to get a good old landline!
The actor who plays George Anderson is amazing! I find him to be the most fascinating character on the show!
i agree
George is off the hook.....literally! Lol
Very talented Canadian actor. Also played Flash Gordon.
He would've become an A-lister if it were a less despicable role
Great actor.
So addicted!
Me too😍
Old Georgie boy just met his match. Julie wacked him!
Why on earth can't Rod get out of this marriage now that he knows Betty was lying about being pregnant? Frustrating!
Very true!
Oh he will and when he does he'll regret it because Betty has had enough of high and mighty attitudes.
I love it!!!!

poor dr rossi, they call him every minute. No 911 I guess
Chapter 27 and Rodney and Betty dont get credit during the opening. Why?
They do the 2nd season
Mr Anderson gets on my nerves
Why don’t Barbara Parkins, Ryan O’Neal & others get opening credits?
They will. It is still early in the series.
George needs to go away, he's getting on my nerves.
The only thing constant about Constance are those constant weird expressions and fluttering those gargantuan fake eyelashes
I wishh George Anderson would go away. Most obnoxious character ever.

there are a lot of times that they are talking to eahcothers back one person upfront one behind
This is an attempt to give the shots depth and avoid a 'comic-strip' look.
Evan Stansbury looks silly. Not looking at person one is speaking to

Sick of Betty. Take the $. Get a life. Move on. She lied and hes suppose to feel guilty?
I'd run off with Leslie if I was her
Leslie would be threatened by George, unless George is committed.

the sound isnt that good
Unfortunately I had no control over that. These weren't my original recordings.

Dr. Rossi, Ed Nelson, was a very good looking actor.
In real life he was married to one woman and had six children.
That bloody awful over dramatic music!
it adds to the unintentional humor, for me
I think it sets the mood for what is supposed to be drama back then.
