I'm pretty impressed. You made great use of the space. You could fit a TV in there too if you got a TV mount with a swivel arm.
Thanks - I did consider that but I didn't have very much time to watch TV this past year so I went without one
That was my exact thought as well.
He’s living large at $1,600 🥲
You did such an awesome job Adam! Your studio is so tidy and well thought out! Just perfect!
Thanks, I appreciate it!
How old are you and where are you from
@@liljoker2716 I'm 20 and am originally from Austin Texas
This was very well done. It may be small but at least you have your own bathroom and a/c. I’ve seen the small studios with the shared bathroom, so this is a win
It’s tiny but you’ve made the most of every inch of space, you’ve arranged it so well and it looks really nice. Well done
Thanks Andrea I appreciate it!!
What a sweet kid! You did a great job! No clutter, everything neat and organized. Congratulations on living a great life.
Thanks Shelley!! 🥰
I love that you can go out and get some air if you ever feel a bit cooped up, its like a giant balcony that you can even use as stairs! Love that if you sit on the couch you can kind of forget the kitchen is there because of the bamboo, you did a fantastic job with what you had!
You seem like a nice kid. I see you just moved from Texas. Born and raised NYer here who grew up in Lower Manhatttan. You have done great with your tiny space, but the biggest tip I can give to people like you is to learn the subway system and move to Queens. You can find affordable places a lot bigger than your place in other neighborhoods that are only a few stops away on the train. You can get from where I live in Astoria to the Upper East Side in 15 minutes flat. You mention something like this near the end of your video but really, unless you're a hardcore minimalist, nobody should be living in one of these micro apartments. You say it's now $2,600? The only people who would pay that for what you got are suckers who are afraid of crossing the bridge on the train. That being said, no doubt when your lease comes up you will be soaked for much more money so consider moving a little farther out.
Oh, and it is definitely worth it to spend the seven to ten bucks a week to do your laundry at a local laundromat in stead of your dirty basement. Laundromats in NYC are usually vibrant, energetic businesses where you can get your business done efficiently.
Good luck!
Obviously he has wealthy parents.
@@samsadeniz His parents likely have enough money to help but people with actual wealthy parents get them $4K/month one bedrooms downtown. Either way I don't care how much money your parents have, at some point you have to figure out how to live in NYC if you're going to live here.
I completely agree with you about advising Adam to move to Queens. I live in Queens, in a much much larger place than this, in a rent-stabilized apartment for $1200 a month, elevator building, live-in super, laundry in the building, two large sunny windows with a view. Win win.
And a PS to my comment, I have three closets! Three closets for $1200 a month instead of his $1600 a month. Queens is the way to live well in New York City, and Manhattan is just a train ride away.
I agree!! I lived in Sunnyside Queens from 2010-2014. I paid $1200 for a 2 bedroom apartment- no roommate. I loved it! I'm pretty sure he could have gotten at least a 1 bedroom in Queens for $1600. & YES to taking your laundry to the laundromat. It saved me so much time and they folded clothes far better than I could.
Well done Adam...I'm a broker and so impressed with the information you shared. You are right on the money. Enjoy your apartment and the neighborhood!
Great job of using mostly big furniture while keeping it uncluttered! It's similar to my 220 (185 main room/35 bathroom) square foot microflat in downtown L.A. Its saving grace has always been the 10 foot high ceiling. To save money on laundry and stay out of our shared laundry room, I bought a "portable" washer for $74.
Thank goodness for high ceilings LOL. And thank you for the kind words!!
Excellent use of the space! You might consider flipping the swing of the fridge and freezer doors.
As a New Yorker, I’m super impressed by how you utilized your space! And it’s so true, if you can make it there, you can literally make it anywhere! New York City is not for the weak at heart lol!
Yup!! Not everyone understands how hard it is to live here LOL
As a native NYer, I forget how hard it is to make it in this city. Most people born here, have some kind of a support system, so we don't have to navigate as newcomers. I admire anyone who can make a home here.. You did a great job on you place, and you explained the crazy process of how to get an apartment in Manhattan. I'm terrified of NY rats, so I'd do my laundry someplace else. You're braver than me!
Thank you so much for the kind words!!!
So right. And since the lease on the apartment transfers over to the "kids" still living in the place, some inherit that childhood home --at rent-controlled prices! Sad though that the city is becoming so unaffordable for others. Criminal really that a landlord can jack-up the rent by 1,000. a month!
You did an amazing job with your tiny space, hands down the best young guys studio apartment I’ve seen! You definitely put thought into your space👍🏻
WOW thank you for the compliment!
It goes without saying that being organized and creative are big assets. You have a beautiful place and thank you for the tour.
Best wishes.
Thank you!!
Great job Adam! I live in a 325 sq ft in Fort Lauderdale, maxing out your storage is so important and you have done a great job. Very cozy :)
Looking to see if you’ve posted your studio tour!👀😀
It sure is - and thank you!
I am an x-New Yorker. When you showed the washer and dryer area the first thing I thought of was rats...at least you admitted to them. Great apt.
You made great use of that tiny space. As a NYer it’s a no to that laundry room I would take my chances at a Laundromat.
HAHA I just looked at it as an opportunity to meet the neighbors LOL
Great job! You are so organized! Love how you used your space. It actually makes the place look bigger than it is.👍🏻
Thank you!
Love this! Nice place that fits you. Btw, a dishwasher isn't an essential item - it's just a nice thing to have.
So true - it's not even that bad tbh
True. I haven't had a dishwasher in any apartment for the last 10 years. As a person living alone, it's super easy to wash right after using dishes and silverware.
I really like your choice of furniture especially the couch . It all looks comfortable ,stylish, not cluttered and very well thought out . (Nice neighborhood :)
Nice apartment. Keeping it neat and clean like you do also makes it look more spacious.
Very good video. FYI, if a guarantor is needed but you can't find a family member to do so or they don't meet the 80x rent, there are reputable companies that will provide that service for you for a fee.
LMAOOOO
You are one of the best creators I've come across...so open minded, composed, insightful, and honest.
I absolutely love your apartment! And the decor is on point!
Hi I live in England and love to look at New York apartments, Your video is very informative of how life in New York is. Your apartment is lovely and you made great use of the space.
Adam, this is a very informative and well thought out video. I have to give you lots of credit for explaining everything so thoroughly and not sugar coating anything! Your apartment is clean and very neat, which is not typical of a young man like you. Your place is simple and not cluttered. I give you kudos for that too! I wish you lots of luck living in New York. It's not easy by any means to live there. Hope all your dreams come true. Blessings.
Awww thank you Aurora!! That means a lot 🥰🥰
If you don't want a Murphy Bed, because you want under the bed storage, then I would suggest an open shelving unit across the foot of the bed (wow....more storage) at a right angle to your desk. A floor to ceiling beaded curtain on the side of the bed would create separation, while not obscuring the daylight coming in through the 🪟 window, and alow you a peekaboo view through it while lying in bed. I would also add my passion, a storage bench window-seat with a potted 🌳 tree or palm in the corner. So many possibilities.
Wow you’re so young, I wouldn’t even think you’re 20 years old yet! And the place looks super clean and cozy
I know I get that all the time LOL - and thanks!!
I love how you make everything work! Thanks for the tour! 😊
It's what works for you. I couldn't move to Manhattan because I couldn't stomach such a large amount of my net income going to rent. For a comparison, but not to brag, I'll mention my housing expenses in the West San Fernando Valley area of Los Angeles. Since my home is paid in full, I would estimate my "rent" for my 1,400 sq. ft. house at $400 a month. That covers the approximate property taxes plus a homeowners association fee. While there are other expenses in owning a house, it's still cheap for me. I'm not moving. Good video.
Wow that sounds like a great deal!! And you make a very good point that it's about what works for you. Glad you liked the video!!
I also live in a 20sqm studio unit and it’s crazy to think how I would be paying 8x more for essentially the same space if I wanted to move and work in New York 🥲 Great job on the organization, tho! Love how you maximized every sqft, keeping the entire space neat & functional. Living in a small space is such a challenge esp when you tend to hoard stuff, makes you often reflect on what you really need and what you don’t 😅
I like the abstract picture from new york
That's what makes us special, it's not about the living space. We've all got dreams to achieve and together we can do this. The end made me so nostalgic ❤
very smart young man, I'm very impressed about his maturity and the way he manage himself showing the apartment and info provided.
Thanks Natalia I appreciate it!!
Impressive, informative, & enjoyable. 💖💖💖💯
You've made great use of space and are beautifully articulate! Enjoyed your content.
I'm happy your apartment has a sink in the bathroom. I've seen small apartment bathrooms that just have a toilet and shower. The renter only has a kitchen sink. You made great use of your space.
Excellent video! You did a terrific job utilizing your space in a creative and pleasing manner ! I am impressed! Thank you for the video!
Very nice and efficiently/ minimally designed! I love the photos above your bed.
Adam mate, you've made it! This is super informative and helpful!
You did amazing job in using a space, to fit couch, bed and a desk into tiny space. It reminds me of studio I used to sent in Toronto. I had sofabed, coffee table with arm chairs, drawers and desk. It require quite an organization to use of studio.
Excellent video... terrific utilization of space and style. All the best in your endeavors!
Thanks Arlene - I appreciate it!
You did a great job because not only is it aesthetically pleasing, but it's functional and we'll thought out. There's no way I could use the laundry room, and maybe not even live in NYC, because of the rats and mice. Eeek! 😊
Thank you so much! I know - the rats are scary for sure
Great video! Your studio is so well purposed! It looks great!
If you’re a young kid with a small amount of furniture and clothes you’re fine. You did a nice job of spacing everything out.
I lived in a small space like yours for 6 1/2 yrs. Good storage is the secret. After awhile you realize it's all you really need..more is what you want.
I clean dishes by hand. I am 65 years old and have never had a dishwasher. Your apartment is beautiful.
Thank you! And yes I realize the dishwasher isn't really an essential
I love the tour and informative message you shared. I often enjoy walking in the area, which is a great area to live in. I reside in harlem. Love your apt tour.
Great well organized place - great hood, excellent strategies for living in a compact space. Inspiring and really well done!
You did a great job with the space and that's an excellent price! Just curious, which trash can did you get? Thanks for sharing!
i believe i got it on amazon. i chose one that was stainless steel and had a section for trash and recycle
It's so impressive that you have such great organizational skills and good taste in decorating for such a young man. Very nice! 👍
It's gorgeous😍You crushed it lad. Very clever use of space. It's cosy, warm, has a vibrant energy..Thanks for glimpse into yr lovely home. 💃🏡❤️💜👌
Thank you for the kind words!
You did a great job with your space! I love the transition with the plant🌿
Thank you I appreciate it! I've had a lot of mixed reactions about it LOL
Good layout for this small space. Despite the small space you can live comfortably here.
You sure can - and thank you!
You’ve thought out the space really well. It seems lovely and cosy :)
That is a great space and a great price for Manhattan. Well done. Im in Henderson Nevada and before that i was born and raised in Chicago. I know about high RENT!! I moved to Henderson in the fall of 2020 . I have a 3br 2 bath 2 car garage and in unit laundry its beautiful but I pay for it. It was $1900 when I moved here now 2338$ . There is a housing crisis from all the California transplants. But I am happy here and u can't put a price on happiness. I love how you have a table to eat at . I couldn't live without one . Your right about the plant and the flow . What also helped your space is the color palate and sticking to few colors . Even in the art and shower curtain. Like I said well done !!
I loved how's the bamboo works perfectly as a separation 😍🙌🏻
You seem like such an articulate, sweet young man! Your apartment is so clean and lovely. Good luck with your NYC adventures!
Thank you so much!!
New Yorkers have EVERYTHING.. except space. 😉
You did a good job with the studio, thanx for the tour. Best wishes from Atlanta! 😊❤️
Nice video. Very beautifully decorated apt. Excellent information! Thank you and welcome to NYC! 😉👍🏙
Thank you!
A few plants on the fire escape adds to the view INSIDE as well. But that's nit picking. You did great.
Good point that would have been nice!
i would totally ditch the couch and do a full desktop office area + pantry on the side like a L shaped table that ends at the fridge
dont feel like interchanging my laptop and food plate all the time lol
It’s basically a hotel room.
A very small hotel room too lol!
Amazing Video! One of the best I've seen. I love what you did with the place. I was going to say where's the TV, but I saw the projector. Keep em coming. 👍🏾
Thank you so much! The projector comes in handy
loved the tour! congrats on almost 60,000 views! well done! I guess the bathroom is a shared in the hallway!
Your Apartment is very, very NICE ~ excellent use of space and I love the Decor💛💛💛
The required documentation is insane. So to live in that tiny studio with the rent increase, you need an income of min' $104K. ......🤯
Yup 😭😭
Hi, Adam just caught this vid. You've done an awesome job decorating! It's obvious your a good guy! Wishing you much luck and stay safe!
I could live there as I love how you 7se the space. However, ugh on the laundry room. The distance, the creepiness, and the rats! 😱
Yeah the laundry room isn't the best, but I got used to it after a while
You should be able to switch the doors on the fridge so it opens on the right. That will make your kitchen easier to use.
I like your saying in this video...its so natural and fluid👍
Great video-you just popped up and gotta say.. you did a great job telling us your story
It looks great, 200 sf or not. Really great job making everything very functional and fitting everything in so there is plenty of room for you to move around. Very well thought out. You got all the essentials plus more. A dishwasher is not essential for a single person. A fire escape is for fires, don't go out there without there being a fire, and really, it looks loud dirty uncomfortable and dangerous. And you got a good deal on the rent! (I hope it is rent stabilized, if you did not get a rent stabilized lease you may want to check to see if the landlord is screwing around with you.)
Worth the money and it looks cute and cozy
Great job, but you could also buy inexpensive mirror tiles to be strategically placed to create
a brighter, more open look! Very well maintained, especially for a young guy!
Your place looks amazing and you did a wonderful job with this video. I lived in a tiny studio where the door hit the bed when you walked in, so I know what this feels like. I hope you can continue to stay there at the $1600 rate. Best of luck.
It is so neat and well laid out which makes it very liveable. As for that laundry room, I think I would look for a neighborhood laundromat , LOL!
Thanks for introducing your house. Was really cool and so nice.
Your really just paying for the lifestyle. Just a place to sleep in the heart of the city. I get it.
That's a cute little place you made for yourself ... very nice! Thx you for sharing ...
Of course! Glad you enjoyed it
WOW, that is a great deal!! Fellow New Yorker here can appreciate this apartment so much.
It really is! If only it was stabilized...
@UC2ImiGTAP%F0%9F%98%82%F0%9F%98%82InlkZNjfvPoOAQ Hope the rent doesn't increase too much! That's the worst. I've been priced out of 2 apartments already. 🤣Just keep apt hopping haha
Awesome young Dude....out there living.....
Yup! Thanks man!
Your place is super cute!
You really arranged your apartment very well. We have the same Ikea bed. Really great desk.
Your place is fantastic!! Great job with the organization!! ❤
Best cleaned boys-room, I saw for a long time 🥇. Thanks for all that informations. Well done 👏👏!
Thank you I appreciate it!
Lucky you. You did GREAT.
Thanks!
Love that you have a full size fridge!! Most studios this size have the half -mini fridge . Great video
Yes - his fridge is bigger than many fridges in a European home.
Thank you!!
Great layout and tour! Are you planning on staying there after the rent goes up? And what do you do for work to make 40X the rent?
Maybe he means yearly
I'm currently a college student so my parents paid for my rent. Crazy enough, the cost of the apartment was actually less than the monthly cost of the dorms for my school. I do have an internship though - which is how I pay for all of my other expenses.
Yay finally found someone with a bathroom as tiny as mine . Idk why it makes me happy but it does lol it’s like a half bathroom with a tub squished in . My bathroom looks exactly like this except the towel bar isn’t there .
Adam, I love the apartment. Not a bad deal at all for 1,600, especially considering the location.
Can’t wait to live here in the spring! Hoping to find an apt like this
Wow, you really made excellent use of space. Cute and efficient.
I love how simple and uncluttered your place looks. The rats in the laundry room would take some getting used to, though.
Thanks, I appreciate it! And yeah, it took some time to get used to the rats LOL
Lovely apartment. You have everything one needs.
WOW!! You got a GREAT DEAL there!!! .. and I live in New York!!
I really like your channel (I love NYC and I hope someday I can experience living there). I love your style in vlogging, Please continue uploading whenever you have free time :)
Thank you Hamid - I appreciate it!
Wow,you really made your space work for you.I love it.You did a fantastic job.👍👍👍👍👍
Thank you!!
fire vid bro 🤙🔥
much love 🙏🙏
Great studio. You have what you need for you and it is cheaper. Congratulations
