I have got the same studio desk, but having an extra monitor as well there is literally no space for it. As solution I have just removed the shelf and the central rack holder part (I have no gear to install there). I have built 2 smaller shelves only to keep boxes and now I have enough space to put the monitor in the middle and my neck is finally happy again!
Since making this video I've had the same problem. I solved it by getting a small monitor that doesn't obstruct the speakers, but it's not very satisfactory. I too have considered removing the shelf and using stands for the speakers. But at the moment I still have an old cassette deck up on that shelf.
Very helpful thanks - i'm around the same age as your kind self, developing the same interest and i have found youtube really useful for gathering information but also people may reply to your comment and it's great to get some help ! I've got myself the Korg Wavestate and i am having keyboard tuition which i think is helping a lot and giving me a firm foundation for future development. Also acquired an Akai MPC1 but it's deep and initially decided to go for a basic drum/rhythm machine but ended up ( after much research ) with the Roland TR-8s which was an ex demo from Roland via Reverb.Going to measure the space and see if the desk will squeeze in ! Cheers mate.
Thx. I'm still struggling with the keyboard - got an online course but not making much progress. But I can always correct my errors on my DAW's piano roll! I did a follow up video about the gear I use. I had a measure up too before buying. Mine went in with about 45cm to spare.
Hey man. I've only just seen this - I avoid watching my videos and just thought I'd better check how its doing. Since more than two people have has watched I supposed I better do the next one! Long time since we messaged. Maybe we'll even see each other before the year's out ;-) Talk soon I hope.
Thanks for this, you are so appreciated right now for taking the time to do that & speedy up the process for me. thanks
