Eddie Deezen recently revealed on his Facebook page that this scene was directed by Martin Brest (before he was fired from the project) and that he's never even met John Badham (the credited director of WarGames).
"WarGames", among many other treasures, has absolutely pitch perfect casting, even in the smallest roles. Not only John Spencer and Michael Madsen, but also William Bogert and Susan Davis as David’s parents, Alan Blumenfeld as the mean biology teacher, and of course Maury Chaykin and The Deez in this scene. These two aren’t acting; they’re inhabiting.

LOL. Visit any IT division in any company and these are the kind of guys you WISH worked there. Instead, you get a gaggle of complete dunderheads, all "Microsoft Professional Certified" and they can barely understand how to configure workstation with a networked computer.
I am one of these certified IT guys...but I'm in my 30s. Let me tell you, there are dunderheads out there who pass a test and don't learn what they need to for their jobs. Still though, even when we have experience and know they IT layout of a floor etc, people are always upset when we say "It'll take an hour or so" when it really does. The biggest drawback is when we can tell the company has to upgrade or change software and NO ONE budgets anything for it...and some people wonder why we tend to rotate jobs so much...
Yes but this is 1983 when computers were still extremely niche, at least at the level Malvin and Jim seem to be working. Only guys that had a real interest and focus on it would’ve been working at a place like this.
They *are* dorks but also happen to be the kind who make a lot of money later in life. If you're in the business of mentoring young kids especially young girls, tell them not to be afraid of the really smart guy who's sort of a dork. Sometimes that goes away and they turn into real world beaters.

2:01 Jim give the side eye to David when David validates his hacking skills :)
one of my favorite scenes from this movie. Eddie is awesome!
This was before being a hacker was kind of cool. It defined a new archetype.
Eddie Deezen played a geek in every movie he was in LOL I remember him from GREASE 😂😂😂
I think this movie is so underrated. The year 1983 (the year that were older than my birth year 1986) these guys talking about A.I. / Internet Connection / Game Theory Stuff. That's Really Amazing. I'm really fan of this movie and i'm showing it to guys that interesting in computer science, programming and game design. Loves from Turkey for great movie, thanks! 😃
'Mr. Potato head, MR. POTATO HEAD!!! back doors are NOT SECRETS!!' LOL!
Whenever Malvin speaks, all I hear is Mandark.
Mr potato head. Mr potato head!! 🤣. Always makes me crack up
Or you'll get it outsourced to someone overseas who's reading from a script with accented English you can barely understand.
Hey hey now. I work in IT and run circles around those guys you mentioned.
You mean just working at a place called "the Genius Bar" doesn't make them brilliant? Better tell Apple...
Malvin stole the show on this scene.
David's girlfriend is probably standing there laughing thinking man you guys are such dorks lol
That’s Alley Sheedey my personal favorite big screen crush from the 80’s
Filmbuff1979 oh yeah she was a real cutie
LOL yeah had to keep her away or else her scent would totally scramble their brains!
They *are* dorks but also happen to be the kind who make a lot of money later in life. If you're in the business of mentoring young kids especially young girls, tell them not to be afraid of the really smart guy who's sort of a dork. Sometimes that goes away and they turn into real world beaters.

Her, and Molly, and how can you forget Phoebe Cates?
1983's Wargames
Notice the first operation title that Jim reads off the list.
Theater Wide Biotoxic and Chemical Warfare = Pandemic and Chemtrails
Anytime I Malvin talks all I hear is
“HA HA HA
HA HA HA HA HA!”
That guy (Malvin) was my neighbor growing up. He also did a Wendy's commercial I think.
Did he do voice acting as well? Cos' he sounds exactly like Mandark from Dexter's lab
Sometimes "Hacking" can bite you in the "Back-Door" ! (37yrs old SHEESH ! )
2:09 that girls standing over there listening and your telling her about our back doors?
