  • SUP Paddle Tech - Module 1 - Board Design & Interactions with Paddlers - 29 March
    Following on from the SUP Safe video series, which I have had some great feedback so thank you, I have started a new series about improving our paddling technique.
    The series will look the following themes;
    1. Board design and what makes them fast and efficient.
    2. A bit about paddle design and a few points to consider when looking for a new paddle
    3. Paddle setup; length and hand position
    4. The importance of engaging our core while paddling
    5. The 5-phases of paddling
    6. A starting point for reimagining our paddling style to increase efficiency and reduce injury / fatigue
    My plan was to create all the videos and write an introduction, but spring is rapidly approaching, so I have decided to publish them one-by-one. Not 100% sure whether there will be 3 or 4 videos in the series.
    Module one is ready and covers themes one to three.
    The videos do not describe the best or the only way to approach paddling more efficiency, they offer an alternative. I hope by exploring some of the fundamentals and putting forward some ideas it will allow people to experiment and see what works best for them.
    Hope you find them useful and safe paddling.
    Cheers Dave
    Module 1 Contents;
    - Paddle board design
    - How we affect the board while paddling
    - How the board can influence our paddling
    - How the paddle affects our technique

    I totally saw that as Red/Orange :: (clearly) Yellow :: and then Green. When you talked about the organ one, when you meant the "yellow" one, I got confused at first. Either way, Thanks for the video!

    The sound, "Ummm" needs to be trained to not be part of your presentation, as this will improve your delivery considerably.
