Ive watched all your videos and found you were taught very much like myself and by my dad and his friends.
I too, have a desire to work with the flathead design in engines and again, as you, with old Harleys and Fords. I can appreciate how you rebuild rather than replace. That was the way it was done back in the day and was intended to be by the manufacturers be it Harley or Ford. We both know its a throw away and replace world now but/and the practicality and common sense of the old is almost lost to later generations.
Really nice to see it done as intended and work just as well or even better than a new part.
I'm not one to tell others how to do things but, i will offer a tiny tidbit of truly helpful info that works so well on ALL electrical connections from battery connections to tiny electrical contacts such as your turn signal unit contacts that you rebuilt and all connections in between.
Buy a several ounce container of dielectric and dont be stingy when applying to almost if not all connections on these old models. Saves tons of issues later and keeps everybody happy. You can even saturate the battery posts and clamps on the battery and then impregnate some cotton cloth and wrap it around the completed connection so it will stay in place until replacement is needed. The connection will look as new and fresh as it was when you installed the battery.
Thank you for sharing your vids with us and keep them coming. Really enjoyable to watch.
    Godspeed

Thank you for the kind remarks L Mar! I'm glad you appreciate them and I will take your advice about the dielectric. I learned something new from you today.
I'll continue to post more videos as the adventure continues with these old Flatheads!!

Thanks for this video I'm so glad I found it. We have a 1946 Ford Deluxe Business Coupe that has the same issue as your '48. Now I have a bit more confidence that this issue can be remedied at home.
    Thanks again. Liked and subscribed.

Hey Jeff! I just realized that you gave me a "$2.00 Super" 9 months ago. I lost this in all on my comments, BUT thank you very much for that even though its' a late one. I do appreciate your kind gesture! Terry

I recently changed the tank on my 49 but I’m having to open the gas cap frequently do to pressure buildup. Any recommendations ?

It might be that you need a "vented" gas cap. That's what I'm running on mine without issue.
