The language she actually sang is Bisaya which is also a Philippine 🇵🇭 language but different from Tagalog. I dont understand a thing but the feels is overflowing on me🤩😍 Morissette is everything!

The song was almost haunting and I don't remember the original giving me that, like that chill down to my bones.
She really just has such a unique sound that I really felt like I wasn't really ready for her. I am sure during the song some of you probably noticed that my mouth was hanging open and I had to remind myself to actually close my mouth so I don't look like a big dummy.
I am not really sure why shes not better known here in the US, because honestly, before people were telling me in the comments to listen to her, I had never even heard of her. But somethings telling me that's probably not going to be the case for too much longer because she has a lot of talent and she is super unique. I feel like that's going to take her really far. Thank you guys for recommending this. She was awesome.

There's so many singers that can have that typical 'HIGH VOICE' but there's only few that blessed with 'gorgeous tone' while singing, like Morissette, that's something they're born with. a true gift that can't be learn. 👌

I agree with you both, every time Morissette performs, we just have to watch intently, be silently in awe, and savor every moment. Even if we don't exactly understand the words she is singing. We are carried away by her musicality, how she engages our attention by her mesmerizing voice, her dynamics, as you said, the progression of the song, as well as her beauty and smile. You are correct, 3rd Avenue is the same band with her in the Bruno Mars Evolution medley. They have been working together for many years now. They already know each other well. That's why in performances and sessions like this, it doesn't take them long and many takes to complete. For instance, it took them only two takes for the BM medley. You said, "Every great artist has a great band behind him or her", and I agree.
"Pero Atik Ra" is a song in Cebuano language, Mori's mother tongue. It translates to something like "But I'm Just Kidding". You are right when you guessed it's a love song. More like an unrequitted love, a one-way street infatuation, loving someone who doesn't love you back. It's saying, "I will end here, I will stop, I will not chase anymore, if it's not meant to be, it's not meant to be" but in the end, says "but I'm just kidding". It's just another way to say "I still love you, even if you don't love me back", or something like "I just can't stop loving you".🥰

This is in CEBUANO, one of the major Visayan group of languages (note: there are around 120 active spoken languages in the Philippines still). This is Morissette's mother tongue, her first language. Filipino, the national language, based on Tagalog is learned in school by every Filipino no matter what their mother tongue as legislated by law. Filipino and English are BOTH official languages of the Philippines and both are learned in school from the first day as mandated. So, like every non Tagalog Filipinos, Morissette formally learned Filipino in school like they learned English.
Morissette is a Cebuana and her native language is Bisaya, Pero Atik Ra is a Visayan song. However, she is also fluent in Filipino (our official language which is mostly tagalog but actually a combination of some Bisayan, English, Chinese. Spanish words)

it actually a language. a Cebuano o Sinugbuanong Binisaya, usually our Mother Tongue here in Mindanao and VIsaya. Majority people in Mindanao, spoke this language, as well as iN Visayas, like Bohol, Cebu,,

Bisayan languages include Cebuano, Hiligaynon, Waray, Karay-a, and Surigaonon, and among others.. Cebuano is colloquially known as Bisaya.They aren't just a regional variety of Filipino, they're a language of their own. It would be more accurate to say that Cebuano and the Bisaya spoken in Cagayan de Oro are dialects, because they all stem from Bisaya. This language is spoken mostly in Visayas and Mindanao...I am Mindanaon myself.
