    These videos are exactly what I need! Part of my work benefits package is a 5Gb XGS-PON connection. For the past year its been bottlenecked to 1Gb due to my router's 1Gb WAN port. I'm learning RouterOS on a CRS305, and I have a CRS309 delivering next week.

    Thank you! I have my first mikrotik router and switch on the way and this is very helpful! In my case, the switch will be before the router as the router i'm getting only has 1 SFP+ port but the switch has 4

    Please can you explain briefly how to make all vlan to connect through mikrotik hotspot. Your videos are great nothing but 💯. Thank you

    very insightful video!
    I moved to a new (plinq) fibre/tv provider (250/250) and just returned an ubiquity cloud gateway ultra because it can't route ip-tv signals from dutch kpn into a separate vlan and does neither connect over ppoe on the standard 2,5GbE port.
    The old trusty microtik I received 15 years ago was able to just untag ip-tv, telephone and internet into 3 separate ports and this is the reason I want to buy again a microtik.
    If you would have the time to send me a pm with some advice, i would be very grateful.

    Hello sir, I have a system already working but I want to change Internet Service porvider to Starlink, do what settings do I need to tweak to make it work? Thank you so much

    • @IgoroTech-Official
      @IgoroTech-Official  Рік тому

      hi there, it depends on your current setup. if you are currently using the ISP router (PPPoE) and if you change to a different ISP, all you need to do is configure the new router with the same IP address as the current one. However, if you want to configure PPPoE on the mikrotik then you need the PPPoE details (username & password). You can check my other video on how to configure PPPoE. tqvm

    Hello, why are we assigning the ether2-LAN interface an ip address please? Thank you.

    • @IgoroTech-Official
      @IgoroTech-Official  Рік тому +3

      hi there, yes, we need to set IP address for the LAN so all the devices connected to ether2 will be on the same subnet or will automatically receive IP address if you enabled the DHCP server. If you don't assign IP address to the ether2 or LAN interface then all the LAN devices cannot receive IP address or it short, it will not work.

    Sir, Can I use any private IP for ether2? Please help.

    • @IgoroTech-Official
      @IgoroTech-Official  Рік тому

      hi there, for the LAN yes, you should use a private IP address and you can use any segment you prefer.

    good day sir..why i cant acces internet on my laptop using mikrotik..i cant even ping.google ..it says "unidentified network..pls.help thanks👃

    • @IgoroTech-Official
      @IgoroTech-Official  11 місяців тому +1

      hi there, "Unidentified network" means your laptop is not receiving IP address or misconfiguration on the IP address. If you set the MikroTik as DCHP server then make sure to set your laptop to obtain an IP address automatically (DHCP). If you did not set DHCP server on the MikroTik then manually configure your laptop IP address within the same subnet with the MikroTik LAN.
