Having been wearing variations of folder over tongue for as long as they’ve had them the only real issue is them losing their elasticity over time, I’ve never had them snap. If you’re brave enough the straps are pretty easy to replace yourself too.

I haven’t tried the Icon 2, so I can’t really make a strong comment on this just yet. I will say that I’m not in love with the AG stud pattern and soleplate they’ve taken from the F50. Perhaps it works better with that upper. Regardless, review coming soon, so stay tuned!
I would guess the strap becomes an issue on the AG version. Rubbing against such an abrasive surface with each step, I'd be surprised if it made it through one match without breaking. I suppose they could make an alternate version where the tongue is held down by velcro instead, but I don't think they view it as a big enough demand to spend the money on something like that.
@Soccerreviewsforyou I'm sure many people who buy the boot use it on AG. I originally did. Only got rid of it because studs were too long for me. Strap wasn't an issue after 3 games. I'm sure the demand is there, I see a lot of comments asking for it

honestly these seem like garbage, barely even follows the philosophy that the predator is chasing, its dumb that adidas can actually produce a takedown model that doesn't even reflect the actual idea behind them, not even a attempt at a rubber striking element is shocking
Guys if you want a tongue so bad but want it cheaper get other adidas boots with tongue, get a marker and draw the strike skin yourself It would basically be the same

They’re solid boots, just don’t expect them to have those signature Predator characteristics. If they fit you well, they’re excellent for $50

Durability is the main issue for adidas boots.
I don't know why anyone would buy current predators, maybe the Pro version is better, but Predators feel like a rubber boot.
