OK, this was super satisfying to watch--almost as good as Tanner's builds (his well-edited glass cutting, sanding, washing are 🤌). I take it they just leave those little spacer bumps in the seams?
The bottom trim is more than a cover due to the construction metho old mate is using. This method is not recommended as gluing the side panels on top of the base makes for a much weaker tank that requires a skirt (the bottom trim) to reinforce the joint. They also should not be using glue spacers that are left in place, especially on the bottom of panels ....
I've been instructed by career aquarium builders to use the spacer tabs between side and bottom panels to ensure a uniform gap between panels of about 1-2 mm and build tanks with the sides ontop of the bottom panel (as apposed to having a floating bottom panel) because it reduces movement between the panels and silicone seems as they come under load. Curious what your reasons or references are for saying the contrary.
Planet built my 300g and I am so happy with it! I would definitely recommend getting your custom aquarium.
It's awesome that planet aquariums is open to show how they make their tanks. How are their stands made?
It really is awesome. The stands are made in a smaller room in the warehouse. Lots of sawdust! - Jimmy

So you are saying my planet aquariums tank is going to bust?
