I'm a 38 year old mother of 4 (and an only child...making raising children a bit challenging). I joined the church just after getting married (which I did a couple years after earning my BS in Criminal Justice). My kids are 12, 10, 8 & 5 and my oldest son gives us quite a challenge with his autistic tendencies. I'm not a young and naïve girl. I did study it out, I struggled with my decision and I have been helped through countless challenges. My Lord has held my hand and kept me afloat.
We jsut saw Hillary perform in Richmond, VA at Time OUt For Women.....this woman ROCKS!!!!! She is a beautiful daughter of God, voice of an angel, and a very blessed songwriter!!!! LOVE THIS GIRL!
I have been struggling with many things i my life one is drugs and taking myself down all the time. I was able to here this very song performed by her in her living room she has the most beautiful spirit with her and her music gives me the hope i need to get through the day. For all those out their struggling theirs is hope, And for those struggling alone and in the dark the savior loves you and wants you to get help. Their is always someone who will love you, don't let satin tell you otherwise.
Hilary Weeks is a very blessed daughter of God. I follow her example of making Christian music, because I am also LDS and I believe that it is always important to have the Holy Ghost with us.
Hilary, since this is your channel I will assume that you will read this. I happened to listen to your song "Be Still" today as it came up on Pandora. I have repeatedly looked for that song thinking it might have been Julie De Azevedo, or some other artist's song. It made my day to hear that song. I hadn't heard it for some 15 years since my mission. Thanks for allowing the spirit to help you put such beautiful messages together. I truly believe that we don't always feel the spirit's influence because the world is so noisy that we get distracted. Again thanks to you and Heavenly Father for the wonderful song. God Bless!
To make it short (under 500 characters), I read The Book of Mormon. I asked my father in heaven, in prayer, if the book really was another testament of Jesus Christ...if it was the word of God. I received an answer to that prayer...the Lord knows us and knows how to "talk" to us. I could not deny the truthfulness of what I'd learned & decided the next step was to become a member of His Church. I've asked my God and He's answered. There is a bit more to it, but that's the short version.
Mormons are great at having children I must say. Among the non-third world peoples only two groups have a TFR not underwater (below replacement) Mormons and Albanians. So keep up the good work LDS, some well educated folk got to be working and keeping the US going when I'm in the old folks home!!!
I agree with you 100%..would LOVE to see an economic system that more equitably distributes the wealth & bounty of our land. I happen to be LDS & was commenting more on the invisible fellow that takes care of everyone. There is tremendous greed in our country & people do struggle. I just have a different perspective as i struggle...the $ just doesn't matter THAT much. My family does. I think if more had true religious conviction, we might have less trouble...imagine more acting like Christ.
Sometimes we just have to agree to disagree...you have summarized it so simply...and accurate. I have come to learn that he does require faith. You are right..anything is possible. I grew up in Utah and would never in a million years think I'd ever be a Mormon. I hated the LDS church. Now, here I am sharing my LDS beliefs with you. I wish you well tradercris. :)
My husband was one of those starving kids in his home country. He tells stories of eating garbage and then nearly being killed for finding a way to eat. My husband has been pronounced dead, drowned, and near deaths door on two other occasions, only to come to this country to see his daughter die in a freak accident. The Lord spared his life 4 times. So bad things happen to people in poor and rich countries. Sharing the wealth isnt so juch the answer. It is better to teach self reliance.
Thanks for saying maybe you find me interesting. I'm open to all evidence that an invisible person is able to rescue me from eternal suffering - I promise you if I'm of sound mind and an angel appears with such evidence - will accept it. I'm glad you seem on supportive of the Democratic political party. Me I wish success to any man (and woman) supports the cause of working people, regardless of race, creed or national origin Jennifer!
Are you LDS Jennifer? I'm no commie but to me just as the Catholic church advocates I'd like to see an economic system that more equitably distributes the wealth and bounty of our land. But I feel this way for reasons on overall fairness not for religious reasons it's just a happy coincidence the church of Rome has the same goal. Give a person a path to a paradise after death, or give them a fair wage, I promote the latter.
The concept is provable...BUT, it does take faith. I have had many many instances where I have had this proven to me...that the Savior loves me (and you, by the way). The fact is, if you are not open to that understanding, an angel could stand in front of you and you still wouldn't believe. I have no idea why I keep replying to your comments (maybe I just find you interesting...I don't know). :) Having that "understanding" changes one's perspective. BTW, I agree with your view of Dems,
I guess we are destined to have no meeting of the minds here Jennifer. I say oh great invisibible one show yourself and I will believe. You say (so it seems) believe and he will show himself. Very very unlikely but anything is possible and if I ever take an LDS baptism and accept the Mormon tenets of belief - see you on Kolob some day!!!
If non-believes accept evidence, they would not longer be non-believers, right? :) I didn't say you couldn't or wouldn't accept. You just seemed less than willing to believe (by your comments). You must have faith for any evidence to matter...you have to believe that the "invisible fellow" isn't invisible. It's through prayer that the evidence comes...or, rather it's through prayer that it's confirmed after you feel/have evidence. watch "Lord, I Believe - Jeffrey R. Holland" on youtube.
Oh if only you had a tape recorder handy! I dont know your age of course and it would be rude to ask (even atheists can have manners you know :-)) but are you in the singles ward? I only know general LDS theology but one thing I've known of since way back when - it's love, marriage and the baby carriage for Mormon young people! xoxo
Jennifer I too have a son with autistic tendencies. Try getting more info oh wheat alergies and a leaky gut. Wheat acts like morphine on people who cant diget the stuff. My son is much better without it. Also the vitamin niacin in oarge doses like uo to 3000 mg can help with mood. Studies have proven that 5000 mg have cured people with schizophreni in institutionalized patients. God loves us, people suffer because that is what they need in life ro return home.
Hi again Jennifer. What makes you think non-believers wont except evidence? I wonder? Not you but those that seek converst LDS and other religions might not this be a cop-out as they have none (evidence that is) to offer? Join up I've seen evidence, I cant offer you any and if I did you would believe it, so just just believe it's there OK? That seems the pitch when it's boiled down. Kind of fishy if you ask me. Those making the pitch perhaps lookign for followers, tithes, status, etc...
Nice thought this invisible fellow takes care of the human beings who inhabit the planet earth, and those fortunate enough to be wealthy I guess it make sense but your 98% of the world who struggle to get by - ridiculous.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts and experiences. I hope you are doing well.
When my special needs son was in the hospital, I would listen to this song on the drive to see him. So beautiful!!
***** Claire, you are such a sweet, good little girl. So happy you are making choices on your own that are good ones.
Hilary Weeks is a very blessed daughter of God. I follow her example of making Christian music, because I am also LDS and I believe that it is always important to have the Holy Ghost with us.
This is such a great song, i feel from the beginning, that this song will be forever in my favorites.Thank you.
Love Hillary Weeks songs , this song is one of my all time favorites. : ) !
I saw her last year in Memphis, TN at TOFW!! She is one of my favorites! I love her music!

I believe most of the art in this, if not all of it, is by Simon Dewey. Absolutely stunning, and it goes along perfectly with the song! Great choice.
What a great perspective I learn something new everyday. Hard to find true talent
comforting, beautiful, true
Great song - I had never heard this one.

Im LDS and my mom met her at a women's conference
I am with You , jennifer .

SO VERY BEAUTIFUL *┼* ¸¸.☆¨¯`
I'm one of those 98% struggling to get by...definitely not ridiculous.

Yes let us without prejudice and in good faith "agree to disagree". Now if I may, how did you come to decide to join the LDS?
