Man I love Tony's house music. I used to go to the Zanzibar every Friday and Saturday night back in the 80s. And I used to listen to him on kiss. Nobody was better than Tony Humphries. But he's not the same anymore. And I wonder why. Do anybody know where he plays now. OR do he still play music. Please can someone let me know. And thanks in advance guys. I really appreciate it big time.
Those were the good days partying at Club Zanzibar I was from Brunswick I would catch the 1145 train heading north to Newark party all night and all day those days are long gone peace all the Zanzibar crew out there from the good old days
OMG. I miss this!! Brings me to memories of Zanzibar when Mr. Humphries was the pied piper of my movements. He's like a cultivated, dark berry: juicy. Keep this pandemic moving!!
It depends on when you started listening to house. Those who got caught at the opening of "The G", there will never be an experience better than that. It wasn't just Larry Levan's talent but that system was the best in the world at one point. There wasn't a thing he could not do to any record in that booth. His few years with us were "the best" to me.
Back in the day i was comanager of a group. We gave our main single for him to play on the radio. As a DJ that drove me crazy as he had so many previously unreleased records that no one will ever find or hear again. There was another record, "Running". Unless you recorded that WBLS segment you will never hear that song again. Our song was "What you tryin' to do". A government agency show force his collection to auction upon his passing 😁 Even now i fiend like a crack addict.
OK Every thread I go on!!! Went to Bali...and who was the DJ. Tony Humphries....I haven't been back because I can't beat that memory!!! Househead...Club Zanzibar, 88, Sensations...
Paul trouble Anderson played a similar style, he must of took note from this great man ..respect and rip PT..🙏
