I discovered this Goddess (Aoede) right after 9/11 (she did a tribute to the victims on a PBS Television special under either the Brooklyn Bridge or George Washington Bridge). I saw it and was immediately smitten. Then I bought her albums. I have had the pleasure of meeting her twice, and she is a super down to earth kindhearted woman who will literally jam with you (if it works out).
She took this trip to Salvador, Bahia, Brazil (maybe other cities also, - don't know). But Salvador was the capital of the South American slave trade I believe, and a historic city for other reasons also. Then she released a DVD of the trip (songs and exploration and spontaneous impromptu jamming with local musicians), and PBS again aired a television special of this DVD in 2002/2003? I believe (which I saw before it was released and led me to buy the DVD when it came out). These songs are from that DVD (as the uploader knows). Thanks for posting it.
