I met Baby Gramps at a model railroad show where he had his amazing layout on display. One of the most delightful encounters I've had with another human. I was there with my late stepfather who loved trains, and I kinda just went because he wanted to go. But after seeing the incredible artistry that Baby Gramps put into his elaborate tiny world, I was hooked! Would love to hear him play his music live someday!!
i love this human so much. So glad I was able to catch him in Berkeley right before the covid shut down life.. took my friends & my boss. they were in awe , lol .
@@TravisBoudreau ahhh, I have heard many tales of the country fair, but have never attended. I just listened to a couple of your banjo tunes on here, you sound great! Thanks for sharing them with us!
My Baby Gramps story: I walked outside to go to work, and there was a van blocking my car. I knocked on the window and this old guy with a huge braided beard stepped out. "Hi", he said, "I'm Baby Gramps." I thought, who? "Hi. I'm Mike. Can you move your van? I need to go to work." Later, I found out who he was, and saw him in concert where I got to apologize for waking him up.
One of my inspirational guitarist and lyrical. He's was so freaking funny Playing a metal harmonics on a dulcimer is no joke. I can play the exact cords bit not with the finger skills. I freeze when I try to play and sing. I'm far too perfectionist. I didn't use to care but I had to eat.

It's wonderful to see him still grampin'!
One of the greats of our time and all time. Gramps recharges my soul. Awesome sound and video as well.
Gramps is truly a living legend!
I saw him perform in my next-door neighbor's living room many years ago. Was amazing!
Have had the pleasure of meeting several times and enjoying in person performances. He is so very versatile musically.
I was lucky enough to see him live at Planet Bluegrass @2001❤❤❤

My greatest musical achievement (which I doubt I will ever top)was to make him dance until his pants fell off!

The Legend! Come back to Studio E in Sonoma County. Thanksgiving isn't the same without you!
Baby Gramps is a treasure!
Agreed
This guy! Oh my, a magnificent being! First time I've seen him use a newer tricone national. The recording is tops, very natural.
One day, that'll be me with a different hat and a sadder set
