    Hi Andreas, great video! Thank you for all the explanations; you clarified a lot for me. I do have a question about running ads on newly listed items. Is it okay to spend on ads right away, or should I wait until I make a few organic sales first?

    • @wtfamievendoing
      @wtfamievendoing  28 днів тому

      I'm glad it cleared up some stuff for you!
      It depends a bit on your risk tolerance. I launch my listings with ads, so I have ads on them until the start. I spend $10 on the listing, if the listing has hit my breakeven ROAS then I keep it on. If it hasn't then I turn it off and go to the next one.
      If your conversion rate is under 4% then there are more things that needs optimization as you need to convert to make ads work. In that case I'd recommend only using ads on your listings that already sell as that's the safest way to run ads

    Thanks for a great easy to understand Etsy ad video. So 1 of my listings is a bestseller but my ROAS is under 2 most times. I’m afraid of turning that ad off for the sake of a drop in sales for that item. What’s your thoughts on this?

    • @wtfamievendoing
      @wtfamievendoing  Місяць тому +1

      It can sometimes look like this, but if you go into your listings -> press the listing you are referring to -> view statistics. If you take that revenue and divide that by the ad spend you will get the real ROAS of the listing. It wouldn't have gotten that ROAS without being on ads and as long as that total ROAS is good then the listing is fine. But it's key to look at the overall picture, not just the ad sales/ ad spend but rather total revenue from the listing/ ad spend. Hope that makes sense!

    Unfortunately, I had to terminate my Etsy ads after exactly 3 months because I only sold one unit. During this period, my shop sold a total of 14 units and only one of them was through the Etsy ads. I felt that I was just burning money for nothing. Maybe when I sell more organically, then I can resume the Etsy ads. I just really can't afford to go in the red because of the ads.

    • @wtfamievendoing
      @wtfamievendoing  4 місяці тому +1

      Gotcha, yeah you should never go in the red with ads. That's never good, it sounds like your margins aren't covering you there. If people are also clicking the ad but not converting that means that there could be stuff that needs to be optimized within the listing, so hopefully the experience gave you some insight on what could be improved

      @@wtfamievendoing I did learn from the Etsy ads which of my products seem to get the attention so the ads helped me to zero in on the area where my potential niche lies.
      As of this time, I’ve already sold 19 units. I spend my time doubling down on the items that sold.
      I feel that I’m getting better now at designing and presenting my designs. Understanding the customer psyche is also one thing (like I sometimes get surprised that they like the simple design which I thought won’t sell).
      But it’s still a long way to go. I seriously need to sell at least 10-15 units per day in order to pay my bills.

    Hey. I have a problem with my ads. It still spends money on keywords that I turned off. Is this normal? Thanks

    • @wtfamievendoing
      @wtfamievendoing  4 місяці тому

      Gotcha, that's because it's most likely testing it out again after a while, it's happened to me as well. The remedy for this is to really only use targeted keywords and not broad related keywords. If you sell a flamingo shirt, it should say "flamingo shirt" not "bird shirt" or "gift for animal lover". The SEO is the root cause of these issues.
      Hope this helps!

    How long it takes for Etsy Ad to start working

    • @wtfamievendoing
      @wtfamievendoing  5 днів тому

      It works just as u put it on. However the data is really only reliable if u have it on there for a minimum of 14 days, preferably 30 days.

    Hi Andreas, are the Etsy ads seen on Facebook the offsite ads Etsy runs (the ones they charge you a percentage if someone purchases from it)? If so, does Etsy charge per click on these ads also? Or are these a part of your paid ads? Thanks! Love your content!

    • @wtfamievendoing
      @wtfamievendoing  4 місяці тому

      Glad you like the content! :)
      The offsite ads is another thing apart from this. So using Etsy ads as I display in the video here only refers to what I show in the beginning of the video, it gives you a separate listing in search on Etsy.
      Offsite ads only charges you a percentage on the sale (12% or 15% depending if you have met the threshold for the lower fee) and Etsy covers the upfront cost from running the offsite ad. They're 2 separate things entirely and we can't really control it
      Hope that helps!

    What if thee are no views at all? Not clicks, just no views on ads, what does that mean.

    • @wtfamievendoing
      @wtfamievendoing  2 місяці тому +1

      If there's no views then the ad is being displayed on the keywords but no one is searching the keyword itself. So the issue here would probably be that the target niche is not in demand

    • @sroy9789
      @sroy9789 2 місяці тому

      @@wtfamievendoing Thanks, the niche is in demand, so could it be that there are too many listings?

    • @wtfamievendoing
      @wtfamievendoing  2 місяці тому

      @@sroy9789 no that doesn’t sound likely. If you’re not getting views and the niche itself is in demand then it’s your SEO most likely.
