I think Ed has actually aged very well. I mean shit the guy lives a rock star lifestyle and he's nearly 50. I'd like to see a photographic time chart of these commentators on here. The guy is living life to the fullest and i think at 50 you should have some visible miles... and to suggest plastic surgery? Seriously?? I admire Ed for not doing that shit. He's a fucking real human being. I've become more comfortable with my own mortality and aging following these guys from the age of 11 to present day (32). We all age and die, at least Ed's living it up to the fullest.
Well to be honest he really didn't party as hard as a lot of rock stars. And if you really think about it he did a good job of staying out of the mainstream
@@nickwheeler1652 What does that mean? I can't speak to his personal life in detail as I do not know the man. Looks to me like a lot of late nights somewhere that we would all feel lucky to be with people we would feel lucky to be with. "People listen to music for different reasons. Some people look back on music. But some people, they need it to survive. Other people need music to get things out. And, maybe that's just where I'm coming from, you know? When things weren't easy for me, growing up, you know, music saved my life..... I had absolutely nothing else, besides music. And, that's still, that's, that's in me.... For me, its much more religious." - Eddie Vedder.
This is an old post, and obviously an even older Pearl Jam interview. But I am just, in 2021, seeing this. Wow! How beautiful and amazing! To see how far they have come as a band. And to see Eddie so sweet and innocent, in his early stages of success, is so inspiring! Pearl Jam fan for life!
Vedder is the lead singer..that's who the interviewer, the magazines, editors, fans wanna hear. Stone speaks quite frequently in most interviews, this was a 1:00 long snippet.
Yea, the interview was really short, they stretched the clip out by playing clips of the 'Alive' video, which I had to cut out to stop UA-cam blocking it. I kept all of the interview footage though.... well its not exactly a lot :o(
@@heyitsme6067 Yikes. Yes, it's painful! I've been "off of Eddie" for a few months now lol, but I know that when I revisit, it won't be easy!!! Good luck 🤯
I'm one of those who needs music for survival. It helps me express my mood my feelings and where I'm at any given moment. Pearl jam delivers that music and after 32 years I'm still riding the waves with this band. Seen them 24 times live have ever album and live albums know their catalog of music like palm of my hand. Yes I'm obsessed but I'm still alive because of this band and about to turn 61. Enough said, I'm gonna go surfing. No I mean actual surfing lol 🏄 One love PJ ♥️
PJ is not all about Eddie ! i mean look at soundgarden and alice in chains you don't see one member of the band taking over everything ! that's actually what's great about bands you have all these characters !!

When you watch Pearl Jam 20 (the Cameron Crowe documentary), I think it shows the rest of the band is very down to earth while Eddie talks as if everyone should listen. He just seems like an actor.
Exactly. I'm a big Pearl Jam fan and have admired Eddie for years, what he stands for. But hanging around him has to be exhausting. The other guys in the band don't seem like they are playing a character and seem relatable. Eddie plays into having humility, and maybe he does. But if you always need to try and show it, or be verbal about it, you can't help but think that there is something forced in that whole trip. Again, I have been an admirer, but he still is preachy and projecting an image.
Eddie was adorable and could get away with rambling on and on.. I love 💘 the guy but THINK he is way too sensitive to survive in the music industry...most likely why he drinks as much as he does... 😅❤😅❤
I don't know what planet you're on, but Eddie Vedder has survived the music industry for 34 years already and is extremely successful with his sensitivity!!!
Xcuse me Eddie, does you're lead guitarist have something to say? Damn, ya get Eddie talkin and he won't quit! Let the actual Seattle native get a word or two in, why dontcha? I'm sorry, there's too many PJ interviews that seem to be all about Eddie's opinion and Eddie's opinion only, you just don't see that in... say... Alice in Chains interviews for instance where you actually get to hear some input from two or more members of the band.
Vedder seems a lot like he was playing a character, his moves look a little bit too forced. Mike was obviously letting Eddie lead the ship, all the band was fine with it. Except for Dave, he got his ideas and he got the balls to let them out. The other guys simply did remain silent.
You sure about that? He's lookin like a 60 something y/o man these days... I couldn't believe it was Eddie after seeing him in a recent interview, yikes! how did he age so fast? I've hit it much harder on the booze and drugs than Eddie and people guess my age to be younger than my actual. Chalk it up to fame I guess... it comes with a great deal of responsibility which in turn leads to personal stress and pressure. .... Facelift time for the Ed meister. :P
I think all that drinking, partying, traveling and the business aspect brings a lot of stress, because now it's a business and not just singing for fun. He's got a wife to keep happy and kids to clothe and feed. I think he looks in his 50's though. I'm noticing that a lot of these guys in the music business, once they reach late 40's they look much older. For example, Curt Smith from Tears for Fears, he's 57 but looks 67. I dunno what it is that rapidly ages these guys, maybe it's about that life on the road..
Mike's words were inspiring, and are just as true today as they were back then.
Hehe nice
Are you referring to Eddie Vedder? The only thing Mike said in this clip was "right."
