No longer a German ruled category.. sport as well as luxury.. and probably the sexiest appearance of any mid range road car.. make way for Lexus. Truly incredible step up!
this is a car with such sporty potential. If they gave the IS200T a manual transmission I would enter that market segment. RWD, manual, LSD, with Lexus reliability would be a dream
I've test driven so many luxury sedans (including this one) in the last two months as I'm looking to buy one, and as far as interior goes, the Lexus IS300 is far superior. When you sit in the drivers seat, it actually feels like you're sitting IN the seat and not on it. The cockpit layout makes it feel so much sportier. I just am not crazy over the exterior design. Hopefully over time it grows on me because I would buy this car in a second if it did.
I bought a 2017 IS 300 a year ago for 33k with 13k kilometres. If you want a daily driver it’s a good car, as it’s been reliable but it has ZERO sportiness. Their biggest problem though is the handling. You get the same amount of power as a Honda Accord sport 2.0, but really shitty steering. Even in sport the steering and suspension feels very loose. I’ve driven by buddies IS350 and it’s slightly better but still doesn’t feel like a sports car at all. I used to own a BMW 335i and it was comfier inside, handled better, more powerful and actually felt like a sports car. These are just reliable sedans, idk why they are marketed as sports cars.
M my dad has a I S 2017 300 and he always goes sport mode and goes like halfway on the throttle and it is amazing and it sounds great in the lake room I’ve driven one and it’s pretty cool
I like the searing position. I know some find it tight and I’m 6ft. But the high large console and lower seating makes it feel like your in a cockpit. I don’t mind not having power at the higher range because I do mostly city driving where it thrives. What I don’t like is the fuel consumption. Think it has to do with the weight, Lexus needs to find a way to lower the weight and go with a 4 banger with turbo, like BMW 430i where they get around 10 Litres per 100kms in city. This thing uses more gas than my RX350 and it’s a SUV.
It is I have the exact car 2018 IS but 350 awd engine I’m 5,7 and I love the size and the driving feel I feel comfortable and in control at all times. Go cart handling makes driving secure and confident. The 300 is underwhelming and falls on its face with no stamina. The 350 how ever has so much power that it will scare you if your not careful around a turn or bend.
Hi, George... I've only just discovered your reviews here on UA-cam. Even though you posted this review 4 months ago, I still found it interesting. Particularly since I've previously owned an IS, actually the 2008 IS250. The engine was a base 205 hp motor, which was just okay. I had that vehicle for about 7 years before I purchased my current 2015 GS350, which has the 3.5 at 306hp. I've driven the newer 2016 IS350 and was quite impressed with the higher hp (I believe it was at 306hp). The lateral seat bolstering was a little snug for my frame, but still fun to tool around in. I'll take a look at your review of the Audi A4 shortly and will provide feedback. Nice job on this review.

ralphie_c ccc This Lexus has a far more sporty and attractive look in and out. Also don’t forget u can buy different engine grades like the 200t and 350
I would love to own a car with Lexus/Toyota reliability, but they just don't put it all together on any models. IS too small, not all that sporty, not as fast as some, GS is downright slow for 2018, and coupes are out.
It would be a great looking car if it weren't for that ugly hideous grille. I'm surprised Toyota hasn't made the whole fucken hood a grille. I was going to trade my 2012 for a new one but I can't stand to see the fugly grille.
The Is300 is the same as the Is350. The Is350 just has a little more horse power to it, which you can add to the Is300 for wayyy cheaper than $5000. The price difference Between the Is300 and the Is350 is approximately $5000 - $6000.
I don't care what anyone says; this is a beautiful car.
It looks way better than the BMW.
Agree completely
Chuckey 2015 BMW are so unreliable
Best looking sedan in the segment, period.

I'm a fair bit shorter than you, and I still find it to be a tight fit... but once I'm in the seat, it's so comfortable I don't want to leave.

How bout now?
How bout now?
I have this car and I’m very happy with it.
Curious how it's working for you two years later
Just got one yesterday. Love it 😊
Do you still like it?
do you still like it a year later? I was thinking about trading in my bmw for a lexus
I have the same question 👆

I love mines , same white color same red interior but mines is private tinted jet black An the windshield is also tinted dark drives beautiful
I still prefer the ES over the IS. ES has way more room.
I prefer missionary position too.
I bought my IS 350 F with the help of CarGuru 👍🏽
Shoulda just kept it as IS200t and IS350 , IS300 almost doesn't make any sense
Y doesn’t it?

stop being jealous if you can't afford to buy it :))

I love the I S 300 because it’s not too sporty not too fast is perfect 301 Horsepower in 200 something it’s just perfect

im 6'2 220lbs so would the GS be a better fit for me?
Nice video of the car spec'ed out how I'd like but incorrect info here and there
Around 44k car cost and no memory seats option for fsport

this guy is wearing two of the same jacket
What does a2003 look like
If only the gas mileage wasn’t trash
You don't care about gas mileage when buying a sports car... Let alone a $50k one
Night Raider the 200t is decent
the competition 335i bmw offers better mpg and is much faster.
328*

Is F sport package is a joke no extra power just badging and wheels no engine modes
HAWK stringfellow it’s better to put these extra money in tuning
Fsport has very different suspension and can also be specced with adaptive suspension as an extra. So it drives very differently...

Crazy how this 2017 has the same interior as a 2022 is500 😒
facts
Acura tlx for me
Iron Shaft i just wish it showed the exhaust tips, and the 2018 tlx a spec is out of my price range
with 6,6 you will not fit. and it offers no HUD which my 10 year old Lexus have !!
The lump by the gas pedal is a deal breaker for me soooooo uncomfortable…!!!!
Now I know why he wears the sun glasses.
That's the F. Change the title.
love it, sexy AF
This car is a gas guzzler for its class. Many German cars in this class are better in the fuel mileage dept.
Rudy F yup Lexus is scared of Turbos idk why
Many german cars have problems with oil leaks.
That dashboard is so ugly, what a disappointment
It would be a great looking car if it weren't for that ugly hideous grille. I'm surprised Toyota hasn't made the whole fucken hood a grille. I was going to trade my 2012 for a new one but I can't stand to see the fugly grille.
I THINK THE AUDI A4 IS THE BEST IN THIS CATEGORY
The IS300 really just says...I'm cheap or I couldn't afford the IS350 AWD. It's only a little more than $1100 to get the IS350!
It does have all wheel drive, which the IS 350 you mention does not have. It costs decently more to upgrade to the AWD version of the IS 350.
Love the IS200t!

here in Canada, the upgrade from the 300 to the 350 is near a 10k difference.. and why on earth would I spend 10k more for essentially the same car?
arjunsecondary exactly! I got the 300 and it's a beast.
Car sucks. Do not get it
Explain? Why?
Lexus doesn't know what they are doing.
