T15 might be crazy but t1-t8 (where i am) feels incredibly dry and tedious. Almost no exciting drops. Some currency, not enough to buy or upgrade anything
Yes very true. The game is awesome so far ggg has done a great job it’s just that awkward stage between starting maps and tier 12 or so would be super off putting for anyone that doesn’t just blast through like a streamer. Too little currency to really engage with much and having to purposefully do low tier maps just to travel to big boss maps in order to sustain waystones is a little tedious. Promising EA though!
Yeah im climbing in t11 now and its a bit rough. 2 exalts a map max. Upgrading anything through trade will be 50exalts or a div to actually make some sort of improvement. Would love to slam some items to try and craft a decent item but i just dont get the exalts to do that
Lower map drops are absolute trash. You don't really find anything at all until 10+. It almost feels like playing Inferno in D3 where the enemies you're killing aren't capable of dropping the upgrades you need to do the content. I really think GGG has forgotten that the biggest thrill in ARPGs is actually finding the good loot and seeing it drop. Not crafting the same white piece three hundred times.
It doesn't help that uniques are trash. I can't remember an ARPG game in recent or distant memory where vast majority of uniques are used as disenchant fodder. It feels like a lot of the uniques could easily use 2 more (positive) mods.
100% plus I'm having massives issues of enemies never dropping relevant tier of maps regardless of the atlas nodes. Like why the fuck am I getting flooded with T1 maps in a T6?
They forgot this in POE1 too. They just want you to craft in poe1. The lack of good drops in poe has always been a downside and it's even worse here. People wanna see a big unique/legendary drop and it actually be good. 99% of uniques that drop in poe are total trash that you would rather drop on the floor than even sell to a vendor because it's not worth taking up space in your inventory.
1- Towers are shitty designed maze full of narrow corridors and eye of winter casters everywhere to shotgun you as soon as you put your face in the door. I feel bad everytime i gotta spend a map on it, i'm just trowing away tier 1~2 maps and running asap to get to the activation buttom. 2- Having to path through either empty maps (no league mechanic) or maps i don't wanna play (bad layouts, AUGURY) to reach the ones i do wanna play is bad. And it's EASY to solve, we just need a horizon orb in the game so we can change the map to another random map instead. 3- Not being able to chose where the league mechanics goes from a tablet makes no sense, when it hits a bad rng it makes me wanna quit the game. We should have a system that when you put a tablet in the map it lets you chose up to a limited number which maps you wanna put the mechanic in. 4- From tier 1 maps to tier 9 maps, there's no "endgame", its a tediously long path, these lvl maps drops are SHIT, waystones of a higher tier map never drops (you gotta constantly reforge a 3/1) and the first atlas points are so meaningless you can't feel any sense of progression... the game starts to feel good from tier 10+. 6- Removing alts, scours and crafting bench is like walking backwards, these are beautifully designed systems that SHOULD come back asap. Having no way to "continue craft" from a brick base doesn't made the bases worth more, quite the opposite, it made people don't wanna interact with craft, so they don't even PICK the bases from the ground. You wanna make the bases worth more? make them rares based on ilvl, as high the number goes, more scarce they are. They also could've implemented the same system last epoch did, that creates additional higher tiers as dropping only. 7- There's too much grinding for nothing in exchange, it feels like i'm playing a mmorpg (where it makes sense, cuz it's the same character forever). Playing 30 breaches for a breachstone (300 splinters) just to get a single boss try, and if you fail, you're fkd is a poor design that'll make 99% of the playerbase sell the breachstone for the ones selling boss carry so they can fund their own carry service and never interact with the boss fight ggg, and the same will happen for every one of the bosses we got. Have you ever seen a simulacrum? me neither, i got 150 hours into poe 2 and by the time i got 120 simulacrum splinters, guess what'll happen when i manage to grab all 300? YES i'll pay for a carry service so i don't have to grab another 300 or buy one myself (300ex). 8- Why is "rarity" still a thing? what's the point on keeping it in the game? If it's weak, it a dead mod, which is bad, if it's strong it's even worse, people will always find a way to stack infinite amounts of rarity while doing infinite damage with bugged interactions (and ranged playstyle) to get 100x more currency, crash the market and RMT, why ggg never learn? I'll stop at 8, but i could stay here forever... Looks like ggg is having an identity crisis with PoE 2 cuz except the bosses (that they don't even let us fight with the non-existance of key-currencies and the 1/4 maps per boss system - that run away if you die and let your map empty xDD) everything they changed becomes worse.
Eye of winter casters... those f****ing guys drive me nuts. And btw what good is a freeze immunity charm in my belt if it's rarely active... lol They need to raise up the uptime on those charms or give me my Mageblood to have them up all the time;)
agree with everything you said. i like to add that: 1) ascendancy is the worst it's ever been 3rd and 4th one feel like a rng chore. why do i have to fight a steroid empowered godzilla to get my 2 points ? why is it so hard? shouldn't ascendancy be something fun? 2) wells feel so useless. if you are in a boss fight and teleport to down because you failed you identify some items and forget to click the well you are so triggered. why is it so difficult to just add that flasks fill instantly when i go to town or hideout? 3) why is the cost of respeccing still so high? it's early access aren't we supposed to use it to try the game? having the passive tree respec locked behind a cost just feels bad to me. let us try out the god damn game. 4) why did they not add the reforge bench and the salvage bench into the inventory with a simple button? ( only usable in hideout so you cannot abuse this system while in maps ) 5) why do i have to click an npc everytime to identify items ? why does it not happen automatically? 6) what's up with the trading.. divine orbs took over and the trade side is so bad. everything is overpriced af. it shows 1/3 exault items and after that the 1 divine items ( when it's clearly that 1 divine is around 70 exaults ) this will just lead to new players getting scammed sure you can sort the search by exaults but does a new player know that? 7) let's add that trading itself is so bad. why is there not a market exchange for this like the currency one? you whisper 8 people of which half don't answer and half are price fixers. 8) map's that have no mechanic and a bad layout on top of it feel completely useless. 9) why do i have to do the tower? just let me unlock it instantly and use a tablet. does running through that map ignoring most mobs to click the thing at the end really improve the gameplay?
@@ThePapaupa12 I agree with all but Augury map, ive felt its the best with not dealing with your last rare being randomly back where you started, its basically a giant circle then you end it by going to the middle.
I feel like the endgame in PoE2 has removed too much player agency with respect to the contact we interact with. I love mapping in PoE1 because I can choose my favorite mechanics / systems and map types to engage with and get a sense of steady progression. The PoE2 endgame forces me to do a lot of things I find extremely tedious and there's little to no reward for doing any of it. The only way I was able to progress my gear was by a lucky raw divine drop that I converted into a bunch of exalts to upgrade. I haven't found a single useful item on my own and crafting currency is too rare to be a realistic option. Am I enjoying the current endgame? Eh, not really. But I do have faith that GGG actually listens to feedback and we end up with something much improved before it's all said and done.
100% this. I love getting to choose the content I engage with in POE2. Granted POE2 has way less endgame content right now (and the content is very different from POE1), but it really stinks not Being able to run the content I want over and over again
+1 With the exception that I AM greatly enjoying the endgame, but this is because the combat and overall game feel carry the game hard. The actual endgame systems need work.
I like having some agency, but PoE1 takes it too far. Finding league mechanics randomly in PoE1 is meaningless because if I wanted, I could essentially spawn them "at will" and if I'm not specced into them, they're a complete waste of time. I hope PoE2 will add more agency, but avoid going so far as making every map full of completely hand-picked content. This league PoE1 added a few 'off atlas' mechanics you can't spec into (Kalandra ring mirroring, Nameless Seer) so maybe PoE2 can make a few of those while giving us more agency over the primary mechanics.
Thats the whole game though. There's literally no reward for anything. All you get is flasks from every boss. lol.. Not sure why people have faith that the devs are going to change anything. They didn't change the things the majority of people hated in poe1 so I don't know why they would in poe2.
must be why i kinda sidelined my infernalist and am leveling my monk up lol. i'm only on t6 or 7 maps on the infernalist, but i can already see the writing on the wall. unless i have a billion rarity on my gear...meh.
The main issue with the economy is due to flippers right now. Exalts aren't worthless because of rarity. Just some asshole flipping decimal points for profit on faustus.
I think endgame in PoE is a pure identity crisis at the moment, I'm curious but worried at the same time how GGG will eventually shape it. At the moment I've had enough after like 50 maps, I can't really nail what the problem is for me, but it just doesn't feel fun at all. It's not the speed or the loot by itself, but a lot of wondering 'why am I doing this walking around feeling like a underwhelming hobo after 60 hours ?' I'm so exhausted of needing 100% focus for every white monster, I just can't do it anymore, I need a break. Not a great feeling to have when you play a game for fun. I'll quit for now to keep the frustration out for the holidays, I had expected to play this over the holidays but some Balatro or Age of Wonders 4 never looked so tempting right now!
im feeling the same, im at t6 maps and it just doenst work, i havent played for 5 days now and im not motivated to log in. something is off and they need to fix it quick. ill be playing a bit of poe1 in the meantime.
Same problem for me, i only managed to endure a handful of maps but the fact there is no palpable progression in how my character "feels" in contrast to like around act 2 normal, just had me nope out for now. Character moves at the same speed, rolls with the same cooldown, has to do combos to do dmg to White monsters, theres no turning brain off and blasting, no running faster unless youre deadeye or extremely rich. Gem level and socket progression gated behind not only rng but also by extension, player market makes for a truly rough progression curve compared to PoE 1 imo
this completley goes away with a decent build and even moderate investment in your build. I have like 5 div in my frost monk and i dont die in maps and i juice the fuck out of them and smash them easy. melee frost monk so not ranged meta. It was brutal until i got my defences in a good place then it became almost too easy
Idk, I haven't felt the need to really turn on my brain during mapping unless I'm doing mechanics like Breach. The biggest issue is just the progression curve. Like you need to complete 10 tier1 maps, 10 tier2 maps, 10 tier3 maps, etc. in order to get a whopping 2 atlas points for each quest completion. In that same amount of time, you would get an atlas point for each map completion in poe1, and you would end at dozens of points for your tree. This allows you to invest more fully and faster into the content that you want to farm early on. The problem with poe2 mapping is that the investment into each mechanic is just RNG gated so hard. Like l've done 10-15 expeditions and have dropped only one logbook and still have no points invested in the expedition tree. It just feels like you're spinning in circles trying to invest into early content for your character. Like it's probably ok and more balanced once you get to t15s/t16s and start jucing, but the overall curve is pretty fucked at the lowend and I can definitely see a lot of people dropping off at the early mapping stage simply because progression feels slow.
Biggest difference for me is that each completed map in POE1 improves your atlas and each map after that has potential to earn you more. Here, you run 10 same maps, doing exact same stuff (sometimes like 12times, because of bricking maps on death) just to get sooome more chance for more map drops. I want to run my favourite mechanics immediatelly, even when they are still weak because of points lacking.
@@stefannedevski6760 You write "improvements" as if that isn't subjective. As someone who loved the early campaign, but hated how as the game progressed it got closer and closer to modern day PoE1, which I don't like at all, I'm sure improvements means something entirely different to you than to me :p I'm just guessing based on how vocal many PoE1 players have been about wanting this to be even more fast paced than it currently is. And it blows my mind that GGG have this much trouble making the game they want to make. They've been very vocal about wanting to make a slow paced game, and that is exclusively what they've shown and demoed leading up to the Early Access release, and then they seemingly fuck it up and it turns into PoE1 again almost immediately. I imagine it will be very hard for them to pull power out of the game now that it's out, but we can only wait and see.
@@TwiiKi’m sorry? Fast paced? Turns into poe1? Are you alright? From the beginning of act1, to the end of t16 maps your “speed” is just 30% higher at best. It’s the same boring mess with huge maps that you have to traverse for a really long time. God damn, go play some grim dawn and last epoch ffs
Yeah and because it's a suffix, it makes it really hard to find it + attributes(which are insanely important in this game, single color gems go upwards of 180 it's insane) and resists.
Don't see the point of developing a game that intentionally hides itself from you without certain factors present. That's not content. That's horse shit and a weak choice of way out. It's an archaic form of gaming that was used in the 90's and early 2000's. Let it go.
@@henriquerodrigues7795 The funny thing is the idea of the gem system rework was to be able to swap gear without coloring and to make gearing easier in the game overall, but they just shifted the problem (socket colors) to high attribute requirements that even block suffixes on gear so it even blocks res stats. Imo thats even worse than socket colors cause socket colors are so trivial in PoE1 you only need to hunt some gear in early acts and can blast through half of the campaign with low af gear and good colors/gems and in maps its basically unimportant.
here i am having farmed over 50 t15's / 16's the past 2 days with 0 divine, 0 pj, 0 gj, 0 20 gem drops, without any tinks :(. today gonna be the day though, right? surely gonna find a citadel aswell. but no, we need to nerf loot in t15's because the top 0.2% of players with the best rarity gear provide 80% of the economy again
Its not the rarity farming thats ruining the economy, its the flippers playing with decimals on faustus pushing the price of divines up by .01 every five minutes for hours at a time for profit. The 0.1% players are too busy farming exp to sit and ruin the economy. Its people in their hideouts NOT playing the game that is doing the damage.
I think the concept is great. But there is too much missing. We need more map diversity, more fun unique maps, more discovery and a more poe1 like atlas tree. Also breach Expedition and Delirium werent the best choice for now.
POE2 just have crafting even worse than POE1 10 years ago ( around time they ad crafting bench) every try to craft feels like gambling. End game is not balanced at all, delirium maps drops like 1-2 splinter per map only need like 150+ maps with delirium to try simulacrum one time, compared to POE1 where yo need like 3-4 maps when you invest in delirium its just feels extreamly slow and not rewarding. They ad like 100 unigues droping from maps, but at best 10 is even realy worth 1 ex/ like 1 c in POE1 why even ad so many useless uniquess to the game when all we can do with theme is vendor it ? Maps are just to big for no reason, and find some objective in maps just feel bad, like ritual/ breach, they should at least show theme at mini map. Charms are just bad. I dont see anyone who use like 3 charms same time, we cant roll imune to bleed/corupting blod on flasks, or freze imune its also feel rly bad like they take away 3 flask slots and give nothing, or at last 2slots and give 1 charm slot wich sometimes work sometimes not. Hope GGG will fix they game and make it actualy fun to play, its early alfa access they have some time before release game. Hope they will make it at least half fun to play as POE1.
It does feel very boring. I like that death has a penalty at the endgame level but dying on a map with a juiced weystone and a boss or other mechanics, then finding the motivation to redo the map with out any of the bonuses is SOOOOOO hard to do.
I’m not there yet, luckily I’m taking my time and playing other games as well, so I hope by the time I get there it’s fixed. What I’d do to make them less boring: smaller, more random interesting encounters, boss every map, add checkpoints inside same as campaign for teleportation and a death counter before being kicked out.
I think they were worried that PoE1 players wouldn't like the game/endgame and overcompensated. Breach is not a league designed for the PoE2 they've been talking about. Swarms of enemies you need to clean in seconds isn't. Something like Metamorphosis or Bestiary would have been a better fit imo. I hope they pull back a bit and work on making it feel less like PoE1 and more like the new game PoE2.
agreed if they want a swarm of mobs they should have gone with sister carcia's towerdefence. If people want a poe1 experience endgame they should just return to poe1. I really hope it doesn't turn into another version of poe 1 in the end.
"I hope they pull back a bit and work on making it feel less like PoE1 and more like the new game PoE2." 100% this. The campaign and cruel were great and felt like PoE2 and the endgame feels like PoE1. I hope they cant redesign the endgame to continue that PoE2 feeling or more slow and methodical gameplay that I enjoyed from levels 1-65ish
I agree. Breach is fun inPoE1 because we have phasing. In PoE2 despite having a fast and almost immortal build in t15s I feel like my screen is stuttering the way I move and I can barely see what I'm bumping into. Most of the maps are full of obstructions (i.e Willow is one of the worst) which I can barely see in normal mapping but are completely invisible in Breach (and Delirium).
@@Astralimwen rituals is cancer, especially in indoor maps. God forbid the altar is in a closet sized room. It's almost dead on arrival if you don't have insane clear or immediate CC en masse
The shear fact that rarity feels mandatory to progress at any speed is very unfortunate. I feel very starved for res and attributes, which are both suffixes but I have to fit rarity in there somewhere and I'm in trade, trying to trade is a hassle too but that's just because nobody knows what is valuable or not.
This so much, Attributes are so huge in this game, it makes finding usable items really hard, if you have single color gems of more than one color, you have to get to upwards of 170 attributes on 2 different ones, i feels mandatory to have attrivutes everywhere and like you said, them being suffixes makes it so damn hard to find usable stuff
Rarity is not mandatory, rarity is a luxury. Not sure how you got this idea. If you’re sacrificing res or attributes for rarity, you are legitimately restarded
if youre actively not using resis, even tho you yourself notice that your char would really need it...then youre playing badly. nothing more. rarity is not mandatory. im running with maybe 30% rarity atm at map tier 7-8 and i have 7 divs in the bank and div gear. get max resis so youll be able to juice your maps more.
As much as I hated d4 imagine if you got to the d4 endgame and ran endgame nightmare dungeons like 40 times and only got the few passive points from the levels you gained as a reward
I don't understand the point of having this cool huge atlas with everything on it while still having to rely on a dropped item to run maps. I thought the whole idea with the atlas change was to remove maps, but instead, they just changed the name and made the whole system more complicated.
How did you get a steady flow of relevant tier map drops? With the atlas points put on waystone nodes and juicing up maps, I'm unable to get past tier 6... the maps drops are always super low tier even with the atlas nodes for waystones. Did you spend currency to buy relevant tier maps?
@@cyclogenisis You can reforge 3 waystones of a lower tier to get one of the next one. Spend some gold on the npc and buy some if for some reason you ran out. I've been doing this and I can honestly say I had no issues getting t6 and t7 waystones.
@@cyclogenisis you can buy some maps from doryani, you can combine 3 of the same tier maps into 1 higher tier map, you can stack those tower effects to further increase drops on top of the juiced maps, after a while doing this properly you should be left with too many maps, if you get unlucky just go back to the highest tier map you have and keep going, eventually it stops being an issue.
Would be nice if they added checkpoints to endgame maps, no respawning or anything, just make use of the new checkpoint teleportation system they recently added so there is less backtracking since maps can be pretty big.
imagine if by completing lost towers, you would reveal everything in maps around it. All rare mobs, rare chest, stronboxes, league mechanics, all on your minimap right when you start, so you can ''plan'' a route.
As a titan with horrid drop luck, I have slogged my way to t15s. Campaign was so much fun, loved every minute of it (even before the loot buff), as soon as I hit mapping the game became horrible. Market priced have gone ballistic and upgraded are out of reach. Giving up on endgame for now and leveling some other classes in the fun part of the game
What you mean, you dont wanna pay 15div for upgrading your weapon? Lol. Im in t11 maps and seen 2div since i started my toon, so i feel you on the trading. As a new POE player, feels like im left behind, like i was supposed to know to trade all my exalts to divs a week ago.
I don't know about you, but there are tons of ways to improve your gear without buying it. SSF players, not even top ones, are capable of gearing and clearing end bosses that I've seen first hand. We have so many resources for gear. I can't tell you the amount of upgrades I've gotten from gambling at Alva or from the non gambling vendors, Atalui and Ketzuli. On top of that we have essences, we have expedition and there are so many rares that drop in maps even lower tier ones. I have no idea how people struggle to gear, You just need to stop thinking like POE1
The campaign felt like a slog towards Act3 for me personally....and then I had to do it again in cruel difficulty. Not a fan of the trading either as a SSF. I hope they don't make it so we can only get good gear from trading. This is some of the worst gear progression I've felt in a "loot" game. It's still EA so I'm hopeful things change, because I really do like the game.
Economy is dead, inflation of exalts is crazy, like poe2 is venisuella. And i hate item rarity stat. You always feel you need it, when it dont make you more powerfull.
@@catra195em no. I have 2 uniques in my build. 2 weapon slots. All my res come from belt, boots, helmet and 1 ring. That also has rarity on it;) with a unique utility belt, i’ll get my whole gear upgraded and built around rings. 2 res, rarity, es, mana, cast speed. The remaining res in need will be on something else:)
When a game like Last Epoch has nailed targeted loot farming, it really sucks to see PoE 2 continue to force us to rely on the shit-tier third party site to get gear we need to make builds work. Also, I really don’t care if you like the trade site; there are objectively better ways to do trading in game, and you’d only argue with this if you haven’t played Last Epoch.
PoE likes to pretend its the best at everything ARPG but GGG has a lot to learn when it comes to actually making a game designed to be PLAYED, rather than exploited at every turn possible to make sure you can then play the build you want since acquiring gear yourself is an absolute unfun nightmare. Complete and utter failure of a core system. They somehow made it worse than PoE1 and it was already terrible in PoE1
Thats the worst part. They know how to do some fundamentals and thats why PoE feels so good. But refusing to add modern and fun mechanics in this game, because Diablo 2 is the only respectable game in their mind, is just annoying. I wish Last Epoch just had a little bit more to offer. Already so many things it does better than other ARPGs.
@ brother you missed the point. Concurrent players does not correlate with my argument. LE has a low player count because the end game is lacking content, not because it has an in-game auction house.
I really dislike the part where i cant chose what map to farm. For clarification, where my 2000x beach in a league... Im stuck doing awful map layouts i dont enjoy for pennies with a "hope" that ill get at least some fun out of it once i get to 15s. Currently really disliking the endgame of POE 2 and really hoping for a new league in poe 1 within the next month.
My biggest problem with the endgame is, that mapping doesn't feel rewarding enough. I'm running T14 maps and I barely get T14 maps or higher ones, but I do get T3 maps for example which sucks. I don't get the logic behind that. I also don't like the map layouts at all. They're way too big and narrow at the same time. You kinda get stuck anywhere and if there is a mechanic like Ritual, you have to fight in an area with almost no space to dodge. It feels like they focused a bit too much on visuals and details, but not on gameplay and how the maps play in terms of smoothness and flow. I hope they adjust those things soon.

@@cyclogenisis I had the same problem with T7/T8 maps. I couldn't get drops higher than those, even tho I put my atlas points in map nodes. I also made the maps rare, and even with like over 100% chance to drop waystones, I didn't get anything and when I did get something, it was a T3 map or so. At some point I had to buy maps for exalted orbs and pray that I get at least one map that I need for finishing the quest. I suggest you to use the reforge bench to upgrade your maps, it's usefull. Otherwise you have to buy maps unfortunately.
@@cyclogenisis What you can also do is to use the alchemy omen so when you alch your maps, it would give the map prefixes and all the good stuff. Then you could use destilled to juice your maps even more with very good modifiers like more rare monsters etc. It'll cost a bit but it's worth trying it out. Paranoia is a destilled which works pretty good when you want more rare monsters on your map.
I finished the tier15 "quest"... and i dont want to play anymore. I feel i would have to farm for weeks to afford the upgrades to farm tier16's comfortably... not even talking about "tier18". I cannot even afford to have level20 gems in this game, thats silly. So, farming weeks to be able to do maps? No thanks

I tried playing blood mage. I regret this immensely. I have 3k hours in poe1 but I literally cannot get past t5 maps. I don't have enough damage and also get constantly oneshot, no matter what I try or do. Everything is agony. Not starting minions is one of my biggest regrets of this year because this ascendancy has singlehandedly ruined my enjoyment of the game. My foolishness for thinking I could play my own build.
Start a new character. I have a good 70 infernalist but hated how the minions derp through doors on some maps so I rolled into a shockburst/lightning grenade merc and had a good time power leveling with the juice from my first character. Everything is subject to balance changes and will be wiped at 1.0 release so if you aren’t having fun re-roll or come back after the next update/content drop.
Well that ggg problem not yours, if they make an arpg where you can make your own build, but the set is ueless compared to other things... why would they made a game with 400 talents tree in the first place? if only 1 way is the correct.
I'm also a blood mage, and it's definitely viable. You might have made a mistake with your gear setup or skill tree? I'm using detonate dead and bone storm with lots of points into critical chance/damage, phys damage, and then a ton of energy shield nodes & armor with minions as a further meat shield using a scepter. If I die, it's usually just a skill issue or those damn snake packs that all blast me with chaos damage.
Ok how many waystones did you run at what tier? What rarity did you have? Play time does not say anything at all. You definetily did not run waystones for 200h.
Redoing a map as empty if you happen to die feels like more of a punishment than the death, losing exp and seeing items on the ground you can’t pick up combined. Honestly I’m almost thinking the Last Epoch reward chests after each area in the end game is a better system as then you could let people run the map again as it is and only give most of the loot after map completion to avoid death exploiting
My main issue with the game is that the SSF experience is way too harsh compared to trade. Trade is soooo easy and fast in comparison. I wish GGG introduced something like the Last Epoch system for SSF players
I really dislike the atlas tree, I think it was rushed. Basically the core tree has 0 meaningful decisions, it's all boring sustain and rarity nodes that you won't even feel but at the same time you need to go for because waystone sustain is dire. Locking the specific mechanic nodes to their own tree, and locking those trees behind pinnacle content, just seals the deal and makes the tree completely devoid of any interesting player decision making during 90% (or more) of the endgame progression. This is my biggest piece of negative feedback by far. I trust them to balance most other pain points, as they are already doing, but this atlas tree needs a total rework.
I loved my time during the campaign. I really enjoyed how reactive it felt to play. I'm bouncing straight off the endgame. I felt like if I ran into a problem in the campaign I could try things out and figure out what I was doing wrong. In endgame I feel like I walk around the corner and get blasted by attacks I can't see coming. I could just have a terrible build, but it feels like there is very little I can do to solve the defense problems I'm having without just buying gear or following a build guide (which I hate).
I have no idea what to do in endgame... like i did some T1/2 maps, died in some of them by surprise and I lost a lot of this events like breach because I just get swarmed even with lightningsorc and 3k shield and full res. I got to some towers and ... I just don't know to which kind of goal I should work, because what do I get? That real reward left over is some kind of better gear and see some Eventbosses... But I do not see a clear progressroute where I can work towards.
Yup, it feels more like an alternative endgame to poe1, it doesn't really fit the feel of poe2 at all. i stopped at tier 6 maps just completely unmotivated to continue.
i honestly think the gameplay peaks at mid act 1. the rest isn't bad but if they can shift the gameplay speed later to feel similar then that's what I'm really hoping for.
@@EyeXombie I mean I'd strongly disagree. I never really felt very weak at any point across the three characters I've taken through the campaign. I think the gear feels very reasonable.
im just starting out taking my time, but what i hear about endgame is that if you die in a map,the game take the map,and if there is a boss you only have 1 chance,i expect they do like poe 1,6 chances per map please, just for start, that mechanic feels like a slap in the face
Clear speed is too fast for what we were promised, but the moment you get the intended expirience of slower and deliberate gameplay because of some map mods and weaker gear, all of a sudden it's unplayable because the monsters deal too much damage. I think what made the early game so compelling is the attrition aspect of the 1st 3 acts. You don't always have full flask, yiu don't always have full hp or mana but there is just a couple of white mobs here so I am taking the risk. Mapping is poe 1 but the moment the game becomes difficult it becomes very frustrating. Another thing, map bosses? Trivial. Some white mobs kill me more often than map bosses, hell some white mobs deal more damage with their regular attack than map boss slams. This needs to change.
I hit the early wystone wall and just tagged out - started aother couple of charaters to enjoy the leveling process - thye can sit at 65 until we get some iteration on mapping, as currently i have desire to play it. Basic piece would be for Dori to sell infinite waystones of all teirs (1-15) - having a single death early on the map means zero chance of even replacing the waystone i spent to open the portals, absolutely unfun....and 3:1'ing mapps beyond tier 3 is just tedious and unfun too
most times im breezing through a map and sometimes i die. when i die, i lose 10% exp, the waystone with all the modifiers, the precursor modifiers and all the league mechanics on it. it feels absolutely fkn terrible because its multiple punishments. also i want to do a lot more bosses than now and guess what, ONLY 1 TRY LOL IF I DIE BYEBYE
I agree, as much as i thought the philosophy behind it seemed fine, after playing for 200 hours, losing a juiced map because you got off screened or to a death effect obscured by the stupid rare death animation feels like dogshit, and yeah bosses like you said. Your next boss is most likely 2-3 maps away, and you already have to suffer through the one you died on with absolutely nothing on it, so it's literally just time wasting. After playing so much i much rather they go back to how poe1 was.
It also costs 250 exalts to do 1 arbiter pinnacle boss. If you die once, that's it. 250 exalts down the drain. 10% xp gone. You don't get to learn more of the fight. Finding citadels takes hundreds of maps...What a terrible state the end game is in.
i think they seriously need to nerf rarity its stupidly broken. also i personally kinda hate that in the endgame i feel like i have to go CI/energy shield or i am just running it down mid with how broken it is. grim feast should 100% be removed or have no overflow to it. also PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD give us a map tab or at least the affinity for it.
Same with warrior i have to wear shield cause is the only viable build +13... so why would i need 400 talents tree in the first place? if only 1 especific build can clear the content.
@@Rasteiyoure just too dumb to make a build for yourself and relying on content creators to tell you how to think. You don’t need a shield, you need to read the passive tree and use your brain
Two things about crafting, it needs: Remove Rune / replace rune, and crafting X res => Y res. Now I have multiple items in my bank what would be huge upgrades, but cannot swap them because wrong resistances.
Crafting needs some work. I'd really like to see them implement a system where you're forced to (no backsies) pick between 2-3 affixes when applying an orb to an item. What this could do is create a sort of mini-game where you'll have to pick something that you like, or play strategically and pick something else to hopefully get another shot at the affix you want (even if it's just to get a higher tier). It'd reduce the RNG of crafting a lot while still not being entirely deterministic. When it comes to builds, I think that they should nuke outliers from orbit and tune it so that DPS numbers don't go out of hand with any setup - Boss fights should require doing the mechanics and doing them successfully over several minutes. I don't think the solution is buffing the bosses, I think it's making builds that trivialize them fall back in line no matter how much people have already invested in them. Rip the band-aid off cleanly, and offer a free respec to ease the pain. The endgame is VERY top heavy, unless you're running high tier maps you're not progressing and everything else (like additional loot and rarity scaling ON TOP of that) just serves to make it worse. I'd love to see them remove rarity and quantity on gear entirely, relegate it to things that everyone can have access to (waystones, atlas tree). Make boss fights more impactful and make them the objective of the towers - don't give pure mapping builds a free pass to juicing the content. Mapping is a horrible experience early on, the objective of killing rares feels like a chore and should (in my opinion) change on a map-to-map basis to fit the content of that map (e.g. "Activate and clear the Breach") or things like "Find the unique item" that lets you know there's something guaranteed to drop at some point during that map. I recently leveled a new character in SSF and it's miserable. I've barely managed to scrape together 35% all res across the board after 20+ maps and a lot of failed crafting, and I started running them with negative resists. If you're required to kill something specific, it should be shown on the map as you approach it (at the very least). I also think this should be the case for entrances and other objectives throughout the campaign though, the overlay map feels a bit off in general. Just my pet peeves so far, I love the game and hope for it to be amazing upon release.
@@alexbrestowski4131 Seems like somebody needs a nap? It's probably a waste of time replying to you, but in case I'm wrong: I'm struggling to get past 35% all res because I'm playing SSF and I simply wasn't able to find/craft/gamble items with more than one decent resistance roll with the limited resources I had available. I'm sorry for luck not being in my favor, I guess? Hint: I had an easier time gearing for maps during the first HCSSF Ruthless league. You're obviously in shock from having your copy of the "Cast on..." build nuked the other day, so I'll spare you the lecture on why balancing the game is a good thing.
@@alexbrestowski4131 It was a shot in the dark, I suppose I missed. I'll leave it at that since you're clearly struggling with reading comprehension if you think that I'm advocating for damage caps on bosses. Merry Christmas! ☺
I think my biggest issue is that the gap between players able to comfortably farm tier 15 maps with tons of +rarity compared to everyone else is too huge. I'm at tier 7 maps, and I haven't found a single rare item worth more than 1 exalt. In Poe1 you could still find the occasional jackpot drop in low-to-mid-tier maps that you could sell for huge gains. This feels much less achievable in PoE2. Ofcourse you could get lucky and find a divine or perfect jewelers orb. But talking about regular gear it feels like the odds are incredibly low.
Fully agree. In PoE 1 your loot dops felt like a real progress. Do higher and harder maps get more and better loot. Here it just changes nothing it feels completly random if a map drops something or not (at least in lower tiers) also normal and magic monsters mostly dropping nothing feels very bad. In PoE 1 you killed enemys and got some loot from it. But in PoE 2 you kill hundreds of enemeys to get 0 loot just to then kill one rare and hope to get something but in lower tier maps you are lucky if the one rare drops a waystone you need. The drops just overall feel bad for the average players. Sure there are players having "crazy" loot explosion but they mostly "no lifed" the game with 300-400% rarity and t15 waystones and so on. It feels a bit like the game is balanced around be a "no life" person or get complete trash without progress feeling.
I absolutely want my build to be doing the crazy damage of the nuts builds. PoE2 would feel better to be if I was able to kill faster but I don't want to play PoE1 because there's too much bloat and it's too confusing. Edit: I'm playing minions also and feel like I want more choices besides Arsonists+Reavers without having those two get nerfed.
with poe1 you just have to learn one mechanic at a time, if you try to learn them all at the same time, every single poe1 player would be overwhelmed, but when you get the hang of a mechanic, you can start learning another one, and at some point you understand how the game works so the next mechanic comes along simpler. and this is where the game really starts to shine, you start making a lot of connections and it all makes sense. But at first, yeah there is a learning curve that everyone must pass.
Campaign felt like the first time eating a steak cooked to perfection, while maps feels like eating the same reasonably edible burger I've had for the last 10 years. Sure that burger still fills you up, but I want more of that steak I just had.
The last epoch rehash in poe universe isn't good. Last epoch endgame isn't good either. Poe1 endgame should have been the base and adjust for a new game and new players instead but still keep the feel of endgame flow from poe1.
It’s so funny to me. People who know what poe1 is say that endgame of poe2 is shit because it’s nothing like poe1. People who heard of poe1 say that endgame of poe2 is shit because it’s like poe1. Hilarious aint it? I think that those “heard of”, just never played it:)
You only need to find areas with corruption/beyond as well as a map boss to put your t16s into. Keep in mind this is only (like in ziz's case) if you have 8 points in the boss tree, the top middle node automatically makes any map with a boss have irradiated
Maps is exhausting. Trial are exhausting. The game punish you all the time. On death effect super tilting. Campaign was so much better compare to mapping. 250k kills i mapped alot.
2h dual weild molten orb, cleared the 3rd ascendancy at lvl 74, with 37 honor left. Sanctum is pretty BS in its current state. Hope they entirely re-do the ascendency trials.
10:23 i really hope they change it , the thing i hated the most about poe1 was the instant movement and instakills of mobs . and thats what exactly the endgame (maps) in poe2 is it lyterali plays like poe1 endgame i hate it 11:36 they need to add checkpoints to maps for travel
the baseline is actually still not good but a bit better than it was.. But yes magic find needs to be deleted entirely. Give a bit of it baseline and delete every single source from the game except maybe a unique. Magic find is a terrible system in every game its in. The fact they brought it from poe1 to poe2 and even made it feel basically required this time around is pure clownery.
@@TheCosmicAstro- couldn’t agree more. A game based around loot and making your character stronger makes MF just a massively counterintuitive mechanic. Never liked it and hate using it when it feels required since you’re gimping your character power.
Fire meteors, Vile Vulture and those shades that they freeze you out of nowhere. Fire meteors falling before you even see the mob it feels like the meteor is waiting above your head when you enter the map. You need double of the life that you already have to survive. Vile Vultures are the ones that when i see them in a map, I'm like "the map is fckd now". Same with those freeze caster shades. If every pack had one them, it would be ok. But when you have a pack full of them, it is not ok. Especially when Vile Vultures jumping on you from offscreen with more speed than a ranger build can have. Also i made recording of a mob that is stuck on the floor, moving and dealing damage but it is not killable. Literally you can see the hands and head on the floor moving around, attacking and dealing damage. I couldn't complete the map because of that. I was always suspicious of deaths that i had that they weren't on after-death explosions but they were looking like them. Let me know when you find currency to craft or buy a gear with good rolls of rarity, life, resistances and of chaos resistance. To cap everything and then to be able to have some rarity to find currency. (Except if you are fubgun xD) The whole game is doing chaos damage and it is crazy to find chaos resistances or at least to find some currency to buy gear. First, i need currency to cap res and life or to be extremely lucky to find a good drop, then when i enter t10+ maps i need more to cap chaos res and on top of all that, i need good rolls of rarity to find currency to make those changes. In campaign, from act 2 normal until act 2 cruel i found only 3 exalts and around 4-5 alchs. In maps im struggling to find good gear to cap my res and to have rarity to find currency and I'm running maps "all day". I understand it is an early access but especially the currency problem should be solved first. Without currency, you can't move around to explore and find other problems to fix and develop the game.
I hate this rarity stacking meta, I don't want the game become like Affliction league ; Not MF + Not deadeye = gimping yourself. Delirium and expedition also needs major buff and mobs adjustment. Deli needs to drop more simul splinters, the mobs needs to have their stunlock tuned down, their elemental ailment threshold tuned down, and ffs stop making the mobs pushing us back when we walk into the mirror thingy and they cant be damaged for 1-2 seconds after they spawn. Expedition crafting + artifact also needs to be buffed, more artifact and more chance in crafting the items. I play on SSF since day 2, currently at lvl 93 with Invoker quarterstaves build, finished Trial of Sekhema 4th ascendancy before the nerfs, killed Breach Pinnacle boss with +4 difficulty, and my god its really horrible to craft your own gear.
For real PoE2 one needs to play Essence Drain Witch. You get a chance to learn and dodge all enemy attacks in maps while you slowly wait for Essence Drain to finally kill your targets..
I do kind of enjoy just sprinkling in rarity on gear to get alot better drops. In poe1 you had to be hyper specific to push quant. Maybe you could get a little by fitting in a nice ventors or something but it wasn't the same. Now every slot has an available rarity prefix and suffix it seems like. I've got about 100 rarirty fairly easily and it's cool to see better drops. But ehh
Would have been best if this endgame had left out beta because we can assume this won't be endgame in release. I understand they wanted to leave something that you can test your build after partial campaign. Endgame is about 4-5/10 game at current state.
For crafting, essences are either too rare (especially greater essences, i got only 2 in 100h+) or too random. For example life essence can give flat life, but also life leech, life recoup, MANA recoup, life regen...
about campaign - i dropped 2h mace in act3 with good damage rolls (~200-280) and give it to my friend - he oneshotted all bosses in campaign since this moment. It's not only skill interactions which allow to extreme damage builds, but also affixes are extremely strong on items. 1 affix can 3x dps of base weapon, 2nd also +50%, than as/something also = it already ~10x comparing to white base which is insane. Same for armour - extreme affixes makes them mandatory, making drops feel scarcie as not having affixes make tham trash. Loot situation is in bad state not due to droprates, but because not hitting right high-tier affixes makes items useless. Especially prefixes - they should ne nerfed 2x-3x times.
This might be an extremely hot take. I think PoE needs to get away from the 1 million+ damage per hit and fast blasting and be more grounded like the campaign. I think PoE 1 is a game for the blasters and should continue to go in that direction. PoE 2 would benefit more from being a slower paced methodical arpg with similar mechanics (leagues) to PoE 1. Also another hot take I think magic find/rarity is a dumb stat and all builds eventually will gravitate towards it.
> I think magic find/rarity is a dumb stat and all builds eventually will gravitate towards it. Fully agree with MF on gear being a bad idea. MF being tied to additional challenge in the maps is fine, but having it on gear always seems to lead to issues. > PoE 2 would benefit more from being a slower paced methodical arpg with similar mechanics (leagues) to PoE 1 What's the advantage to that though? Like, if I'm given the option to either sprint through a map in 2-3 minutes, or trudge through a giant map over the course of 30minutes, for the same relative amount of reward/progression, why would I ever pick the latter?
Na I agree. Especially with the MF stats. If you're not running MF on your gear it feels very bad. And since we need those slots for res and attributes it hurts allot. I think every slot I have has some form of res on it because the economy is screwed due to nobody knowing how to price things so I can't try to consolidate the res into more places to get MF on gear to increase drops to consolidate more to get even more MF.
@@JordaanM I think there is a middle ground that can be achieved. That middle I think is having a 10-40% increased movement speed implicit on all boots so even though you are not blasting through enemies with millions of damage you can still feel fast due to the movement speed on the boots. Instead of having every build in the game look like one of those blink on dodge monks. Also hopefully as the game moves onward we will start to see some more league mechanics in these big maps to make it feel less barren. Edit: (I don't know why we don't see any of the league mechanics that are in maps currently in the campaign playthrough especially when one of the act 1 maps has ritual in it)
this might be an even hotter take, but an arpg where you don't actually get any more powerful at all sounds terrible. "YOooo i just dropped the poe2 version of mageblood, its worth 250 divine and gives you 2% move speed!!!!! LOGIN"
Everyone wants to feel like a God by the time they get to or near end game. My hands literally hurt after the doryani fight in act 3. Hit, hit, dodge, hit, hit, dodge, run, run, run, run, hit, dodge, hit, hit, dodge, dodge. Oh melee by the way. Now I am stuck in act 1 cruel and quit playing. I personally did not want a button mashing game. That is what poe2 is. Unless you spend 1000ex or divine to get a 1 or 2 button blasting build.
I was hating that i have to carry my stuff to the map device and run maps that way. Now i have to open an interface everytime i want to do a map. Great :D
Would love the game to feel slower at maps, but if they do that, they need to increase drop rates or something. I really, really enjoyed actually thinking about what I'm doing when playing campaign. Feels bad to just push 1 button and blast through a map
If they make It slower I'm actually gonna fall asleep and that's not a joke, we already have the snoozefest of the campaign to deal with, please no more suffering.
What do you think about the tiers on tooltips being reversed. I don't look at them anymore because they aren't helpful at all. Since i don't know how many tiers there are out of each mod.
Crazy how GGG are making the literal exact same failures of ideas as PoE1. Crazy how awful the RNG in the game was when people were just farming Act 2 Vaal Oversoul for gear... To the point not a year, a year and a half later they added the Crafting Bench because IT NEVER GOT BETTER. So my question is, who is it in the Leadership of GGG is going around saying: "No, don't implement that in PoE2. It was implemented in PoE 1 for absolutely no reason and serves no purpose." Because it's been done on a dozen fundamental mechanics at this point. Edit: Sorry, complaining without solutions. Cauldron/Pestle and Morter or something. Throw in spare Runes. Depending on Rune Type, and Quantity, you get a certain possibly random Material/Tier to use in a Crafting Bench. Call it Catalysts, maybe? Throw 5 Fire, Lightning, Cold Resistance Runes in? Get a Catalyst back that can be applied to your Armor. And would you look at that. Runes and Catalysts take a good bit of space, and there's a Ultimatum Stash Tab.
Same failures indeed. Magic find still exists "crafting" is still at its core gambling on death effects everywhere that last way too long(also usually have terrible visual queues) game is designed around trade, instead of the game being designed to be played(what a shocker) with the option for trade. at the very least they need to actually make a REAL crafting system. Not gambling with extra steps.
I’m up to T6 and I’m bored. Not interesting or rewarding enough for me. On paper, the design seems good, but in practice it needs some improvement. Lack of loot filter support on console is also really rough.
Thank you for the video. I'm still at t10 so this was very educational. I'm having a blast with my current build and I'm playing and having fun for several hours every day since the EA launch
Everyone who says this just hasn’t played poe1. They either heard about it, looked at it through the prism of someone with the mirror build or just played 20 hours and got too scared of the amount of different mechanics NO ONE expects you to engage with at the same time. gtfo
Runes not being replaceable coupled with economy destroyed by beetle farm lead me to feel paralyzed when polishing my gear. Should I socket runes for better resists? Should I wait to find better rings before I socket my body armor? Should I use runes or wait for soul cores? Really not a good feeling.
Streamer like you got paid to hype the game towards us. It's no near it was advertised in countless interviews. You streamer people have probably forgotten this, but here's a friendly reminder: you're the player's representative, not GGG's strategic marketing ambassadors. You've sold yourself to betray the same people that give you their money. - Boring endgame - Repetitive maps - Tideous grinding - Obsolete on-death XP punishment - Cafting is just a theory; everyone just buys what they need - Massive bugs, visual glitches, disconnects - Lack of server performance - Group mapping is the only way of leveling - Missing 99.9% of MTX from PoE 1 - Game is barily playable in 1080p - 4K 120Hz? I can offer you 2 fps - In-game shop's MTX are too expensive - Copy/Paste low effort armor MTX with 2005 visuals - Massive currency inflation - Console experience is even worse Was there any negative streamer feedback from pre-testing the game? Just a single one from the above?? No. Because they were told to hold on their critics after the game launched and made money. PoE 1 Veterans get mad because it's not even close to the original experience. Casual players get frustrated because 3 hours of grinding laggy maps is worth nothing when you just die once. And every critic from players like myself is treated the same way: "Bro, chill. It's early access man. What do you expect? The game will be free eventually." The official forums are flooded with complaints, feedback, bug reports and opinions. Instead of begging us to give you our money to see you actually enjoying the game, and in return posting the same nonsensical build showcase video, you should stand your ground and talk about the real problems. If I invest time and money, I want something in return. In this case I can't enjoy playing because the game lacks in performance. And I can't progress because if I only make one mistake within two hours of grinding T15 maps and die, I'll be put back at the start of my XP bar.

against the darkness costing 500 divines is ludacrise, there is so much inflation that no1 except the top dogs of the game who farms 24/7 with the best build for breach and endgame can get it, , i dont want to get the best of the best for free but i sure would love to have gear cost less than 500 divines so that i my self can even afford it in my life time.... its pretty hard to upgrade good gear to better gear allready due to the high prices which makes it harder to continue farming
A lot of new players who didn't play poe 1 are already dropping the game. GGG should really fix a lot of things on this new game. It is showing now that they wanted people to grind for hundreds of hours just to find 1 good item which shouldn't be the design of an arpg.
I kind of figured endgame would end up really fast like this. Any time I saw them showing off how "slow" the game was it was always early campaign, which... yeah of course. But I knew there was no way it would look like that at endgame. It would have to be a fundamentally different game. Games like this are all about creating some broken build which kills everything fast and doesn't die. You can't really have that AND have the game somehow be slow and challenging. Elden Ring actually kind of had this problem for me where if I played the game "fairly" it just was brutal and unfun, but if I swapped to some gimmick build that could kill bosses in seconds it was just boring. The really funny thing about my experience with the PoE 2 campaign so far is actually that the trash has been brutal because it's designed like it's PoE 1 but with way more damage under the assumption that you'd be able to dodge that visual diarrhea. Meanwhile the bosses have been fairly trivial. They were actually designed with dodging in mind so you can actually engage with them on those terms... at least until your build gets going then you just obliterate them before they get to do much.... In PoE EVERY build's end point is that cheese Elden Ring build. I think the critical design problem with trying to make this genre slower/more difficult is the way health sustain works. In Dark Souls you have your number of heals per fight. You screw up, you use a heal. You screw up enough, you run out of heals and die. Similarly, most roguelikes will give you very limited healing options if at all. So your screw ups accumulate over the run. In either case, because you have a limited number of times you can screw up, no one event needs to just outright kill you in order for the game to be challenging. In an ARPG like PoE, builds can and often do aim to have essentially infinite long term sustain. Life steal, regen, etc. So essentially no number of smaller mistakes can be punished in any cumulative way. So the only way to threaten the player ends up being one shots. And the player response to one shots is of course to find a way to kill the enemies instantly.
I played PoE 1 since Incursion League, with my very first build ever (Arc traps) hitting the endgame and had alot of fun playing this game. I am a grown man and work 10 to 12 hours a day, yet i sometimes even did some Hardcore SSF runs in PoE1 since then. I participated in alot of races and events and in general was deeply attached to the game and it's development and always went with the game no matter it's state. I can't justify what is happening in PoE2 right now, I wanted to play semi blind and just go along with my own build thoughts on melee and did everything a veteran would do, in order to go through the campaign. I got oneshot in act2 ... 15 times in the same zone. Some other people told me they have tenfold the times of death. But i shrugged it off and maybe work on my build a little more, I watched a guide and also hard focused on finding good gear to go through the normal campaign at this point. I noticed at that point, that this is tedious and stale and boring. There is no crafting bench, nothing. You just slam white items and you are either lucky or unlucky. I still stick to my guns and tried to get better and better, very grueling and stressful experience, even tho i just wanted to chill and enjoy the campaign for the first time. Eventually I made it to maps and i got way better at the game, I actually never had any problems with the trials even tho I'm melee. So i started mapping and ran out of maps constantly or getting OS by some on-death effects, wasting maps. At this point I had like 40 deaths. I still dragged myself through the mapping and trying to get atlas stuff done and found something: A lost tower. And this lost tower was the point, where I abandoned PoE2. I felt too pressured to even start the game, after I come home from a very stressful working day.I don't care if there will be more stuff unlockable later, more classes or weapons or they tweak some of the unbalanced stuff. This whole experience for me was ruined by the sheer tryhard mobs (you encounter as early as act 2 dreadnaught) and the extremly luck dependant crafting and later endgame system. Facit is: My WHOLE experience got ruined, I felt more and more forced to play, to maybe see the end of the tunnel. All I wanted was a chill first experience of the game and running smoothly and slowly through the campaign, like I did back in the days in PoE1. For now and probalby a very long time, I keep my review negative on steam, but when I see the right changes and they add more crafting options, more mechanics, less tedious endgame and more citadels and fix the difficulty curve of the campaign, I'm willing to change that. I think it's safe to say: They scared off alot of potential new players to grow a healthy community again and are stuck ( once again) with a bunch of popper huffing elite discord mods. Also a little side note: No, I did not die to any boss (other than silver back) more than once or twice and had alot of fun fighting and learning these (again... except for the silverback). The complaint is mainly focused on the white mobs, that hurle spears and poop at you, that deals a third of your hp bar, while stunning, slowing, maiming and hindering you and stealing your flask charges. I love the crazyness later in juiced red maps or delirium, but not in act 2 normal mode.
Im retired for health reasons, had a 26 year career in the military. I have disposable income but my POE2 experience is almost the same as yours. This isnt a game I would play as much as POE1. Its not a game I would reward GGG with money.
Controversial opinion: For an EA game, I don't think they should have supplied the atlas. It gives tryhard players too much of an edge to push builds to insane levels and feel like your build is just unusable garbage. If GGG wanted to make the game death prone, the mechanics and progression needs to adapt to it. Instead, you have players one-shoting bosses and just bypassing their mechanics completely. That is where most of the pressure you feel is coming from. I totally agree with you on the cafting system. They should either have straight up copied the system from POE1, or provided equivalence in new ways (for example fighting a boss to grant a prefix/suffix enchantment). That would have been a better application of EA development time in my opinion. The current system is just too random and non-engaging. POE1 had some many layers of crafting you could spend a day without doing a single map, just planning your craft sequence. It was awesome imho. Again, this is Early Access. We need to realize that. But GGG also needs to realize that. I think they may want to leave space to introduce new craft mechanics, and that is why it feels so empty right now, but if they plan that it would be better to warn players now, that they *know* current crafting/gearing is not supposed to be the final game experience. Otherwise EA is just a handy excuse for bad gameplay.
@@rodrigoserafim8834 You're comparing over a decade of content in PoE 1 with a week of early access in PoE 2. There are absolutely issues with certain aspects of the game, but saying they shouldn't have included endgame is extremely goofy and would have gimped player retention massively, which is completely necessary for figuring out balancing issues. What someone else's build is capable of should have absolutely no impact on your enjoyment of the game, because there's no competition. That's not GGG's fault, that's you being your own worst enemy.
@@xephlo its not as silly as you say. Diablo 2 was played for years and its endgame was just replaying the same maps at a higher difficulty level. Its was a perfectly fine mechanism for retention. The fun was had from tiny (but continuous) incremental upgrades. And of course comparison will play a role in any game. If doing a Mario Bros level in 20 seconds was a common thing, there would have no enjoyment of being achieved. POE sense of achievement is just more complex and multi-vector. But its still there. I merely suggesting better crafting would provide better retention than better atlas. Not as far fetched.
@@rodrigoserafim8834 Sure it is, but at least give us crafting bench starter recipes and vendor recipes and welcome new players to these mechanics. All i did throught out the pain-staking campaign climb was to slam white items for a triple phys or triple res mod.
Class and build difference in endgame is crazy . I have chayula monk which struggles every map, witchhunter one shots some bosses i have noo idea how they can balance . Also in your interview they said OP build is which ppl only want to play one build now we have few of them its oke since its EA but need fix for sure
I wouldn't be shocked if at the end of January they release the first mini-league to reset everything and make balance changes and maybe release a new character.
The early access is supposed to be at least 6 month. Even if that becomes 1-2 years, that would mean we should get big updates every 1-2 month or the game wont ever finish.
In my experience the local knowledge goes based on what the actual atlas looks like, not the map name. I’ve found almost all of my perfect jewelers in seepage which shows up in grass or bog, I got mine where the atlas actually looks like grass.
I hate sanctum so much. I quit that league in POE1. They need to let us ascend in other ways. I'm level 79 and only have 4 ascendancy points because I hate sanctum. I play melee so it just sucks to do even post nerf. But I never liked it to begin with. I am considering just quitting until they change it or not playing again if they don't.
@Eternalbuble none of the ultimatum tokens I have say they award ascendancy points. Meanwhile, I keep dropping sanctum tokens with the text that they award ascendancy points. Maybe later on, or at higher tiers they drop, but that does help me progress now. I would do ultimatum if it were an option at the level I'm at, but that doesn't seem to be the case.
I quit for that exact reason. Even if I could blast through it easily in one try I'd still hate it because it's a tedious chore that feels like a waste of time regardless of the outcome. I'm also melee and I don't even want to start another character because that's just more trials I'll have to do for more ascendancy points. I hope their third method they're working on is a lot better than what we have now.
@ktrizzle6098 The 7 trial versions of ultimatum that drop do not award ascendancy points, I have already completed several, but they drop at the same level as 3 floor sanctum that do award ascendancy points. My build uses high health recovery as a defensive layer that is worthless in sanctum. I get pelted to death by ranged mobs as melee, there are not enough mobility tools do deal with it. I can make it to the scorpion boss on the final floor, but I have barely any honor left by then so 1 dot from that boss shreds me. I'm sure with enough rng I could get it, but the fact remains that I hate doing it. It's just not fun. The honor loss buff when in melee range doesn't save me from the penality of ranged mobs chipping at honor all time unless I dodge constantly.
5:22 - expedition feels bad because crafting with merchants is never good. Delirium feels bad because it randomly just stops for no reason, youll be continuing in a straight line and killing things and it just stops. Breach is good for exp and density snd splinters seem to drop at an okay rate bunch for us casuals not enough. Ive done a couple breaches in T13+ and only have around 20. Its gonna take me ages to farm one boss. And Simulacrum is even worse with deliriums issues previously mentioned. Ritual is good its just the rewards are trash and you cant toggle your item filter. Omens are also super rare and some of the ones listed on the currency exchange or showed off with trailers arent even in the game or are so rare there are 0 on all of trade. It would also be nice if they removed rarity from item affixes and just reworked rarity for maps so you get rewarded for running juiced maps and every build could get some rarity instead if inly builds who can sacrifice affixes getting all the loot. 5:22 - crafting feels awful. Ive ID’d, Reforged, Trans/Aug’d close to 1500 Expert bows. Ive seen maybe 5-10 bows with a good prefix/suffix that then regal’d and exalted into absolute trash. Even with essence its trash since you can hit T1 rolls on rare high level bases and greater cost 20-75 ex per try snd even those can hit T1’s
the whole game feels like poe1 except for combat. poe2 was supposed to be fundamentally different at its core not only the combat. but the combat is basically the only thing thats not just poe1 or poe1 but worse.
Agree, especially sucks when you get a higher tier map, exalt it twice for more map drops, run it on a boss and do not even get drop of a same level map. I spected in map tier on Atlas and that shit happened quite a few times
The main reason you have so much loot is that you have to pick up all the stuff normally would be considered garbage. If you dont want to leave bases/currency/splinters etc it will be a ton.
It is hilarious how soft the POE community is. First it is 'sanctum is literally impossible' then someone shows you how to stack honor and honor resist and you can run sanctums with melees that never could in poe1, then there are no drops and people figure out how to farm currency, then all the builds have no damage and suddenly people are just one shotting bosses. All these scrubs get angry that there isn't a guide yet for every detail and they might have to actually play the game and learn how to do some shit on their own. Is the end game better than poe1? No, of course not. But as a friend said: 'GGG is great at making 1/10 of a game at a time, as the new patches and leagues come this game is going to be legendary' At the moment I have it as easily the best campaign in a ARPG, and I am loving a lot of what the endgame has. I think the entire skill gem system is a miss, and I agree with Zizz on expedition and deli.
theres no point of this game if people can already zoom across end game maps and one shot end game bosses. theres no point. its just poe 1 again. all that time and development wasted just to remake poe 1. So I think they will change much of that balance to be more similar to the campaign.
I think that's purely a trade problem and very hard to fix. People are bypassing literal weeks of progress compared to SSF in matter of hours instead of weeks. I guess that's why playign trade burns out players at an insane rate. But that is a player problem I feel, not so much a design flaw. If they nerf loot and other stuff for trade players to progress slower, just imagine how SSF would feel, I think it's almost impossibel for the two to exist and feel balanced at the same time.
If they did I wouldnt play POE2, I definately would spend money supporting it. Making a super niche game is huge risk. They shouldnt balance a game based upon a small group of players. Most players do not spend multiple hours per day playing the game. A large percentage of players barely make it through the campaign of POE1 by the end of a league and many never make it all the way through end game.
if they actually changed the process of gearing and gear progression, that would help set it apart. but right now progression just poe1 but somehow worse. poe1 was already bad but poe2 is just 10x worse.
@@ThaGamingMisfit designing a game allegedly meant to be PLAYED, around trade is the design flaw. Its 100% a design problem. SSF and Trade can exist at the same time and feel good they just need to make a REAL crafting system. Not gambling garbage. Last Epochs crafting system would be a good starting point to improve upon. Would work well with PoEs trade economy as well. It would also be way more self regulating. Cause youd constantly be having crafting materials be deleted from existence. Helping reduce inflation. Meanwhile in poe2 right now. Most people arent using exalts and whatnot because its just entirely worthless. This would also be much more effective because last epochs conceptual crafting system(though it also has its flaws) would be used by way way more people. in poe its a small subset of people that actually craft things, most people just hoard, sell and buy. But theyre not actually using the currency so its not being removed from the game. In this imaginary Last Epoch 2.0 Crafting system, itd be much much much more likely for a way higher percentage of people to be using their currency because its a more tangible reward structure. you are very likely to at least make some progress towards what youre looking for, resulting in more people interacting with the system. Which would also result in overall player satisfaction and retention being higher. People like feeling rewarded for taking their time to do something after saving up a bit and taking the steps towards doing whatever it is. But when that saving up a bit or steps results in literally just wasting all of your time and resources. This is just a punishment. There is a reason why positive reinforcement works better than negative reinforcement.
The problems are: 1. no incentive to craft... 1 exalt = gamble on one rare stat... or buy better gear than you could possibly make. 2. drops and crafting could take into account your passive tree stats and gear - as in that could be used to influence 25% of your drops - making them more relevant to your character and the stats currently selected (this will then scale throughout the whole game easily with you) the other 75% can be random in terms of gear and prefix/affix mods. in terms of mod tiers and item level that can be factored by the rarity mod. (not exact percentages but something like that...) 3. I've only ever across 6 characters manged to get really lucky crafting an item 2 times... the rest has been a joke. 4. currently just play till you get a div orb, trade it for exalts. and you can just buy whatever you need... not fun...
Being on t14 but only getting t1-13 to drop and the odd t14-15, is truly what's killing it for me. And the fact I still haven't found a single iron cartel or whatever.
I love Poe 1. But if endgame feels exactly like Poe 1 it could be an issue since this would be a high graphics poe 1 with allot less content and allot less good systems and mechanics. I really think they should stick to their vision and make Poe 2 a little different from Poe1. Regardless i will play them both and cant wait for leagues
Since rare and magic mobs aren't as visible anymore, you should get a map highlight when you run into one and not just when less than 200 mobs left. Ran past and even damaged so many rares without knowing and had to back track. Not enjoyable
I really hope all end-game mechanics are just placeholders before release, outside of expedition, i don't think they pair well with how the maps layout are designed. edit: GGG need to contact steam, so they remove the souls-like tag. edit 2: i was hoping for a game with delibarate and toughtfull combat, like they advertised for years. If poe1 was the EFT of ARPGs, this is like ABI, good enough to please masses. We won't have 2 different game to play, sadly. Rod was right, i hate to admit it.
I'm not really sure that I like the current endgame. campaign was great and i loved the pace and progression of it. The endgame just doesn't really feel great and I don't know why. A lot of it feels unnecessary. Like why drop maps in the first place? Why not just have it achievement based, like if you beat map 1 you unlock map 2 etc. But I don't even really like the atlas map itself. Its kinda just all over the place and unstructured. idk it just doesn't feel right.
I am fine with people deleteting bosses. I am not fine with people deleting bosses within two weeks into the game. I like the fantasy of becoming omnipotently strong, but if you get there way too fast it also feels empty.
I think the biggest benefit of playing Hardcore is learning how to make my build very strong. Once I get to endgame, hopefully I’ll be able to shred everything
T15 might be crazy but t1-t8 (where i am) feels incredibly dry and tedious. Almost no exciting drops. Some currency, not enough to buy or upgrade anything
Low tier maps has awfully loot
Yes very true. The game is awesome so far ggg has done a great job it’s just that awkward stage between starting maps and tier 12 or so would be super off putting for anyone that doesn’t just blast through like a streamer. Too little currency to really engage with much and having to purposefully do low tier maps just to travel to big boss maps in order to sustain waystones is a little tedious. Promising EA though!
Hard agree.
@jameslowien3104 yup, I am loving ea and have thoroughly destroyed my sleep schedule. It'll get sorted out eventually
@@zxbc1 Brother... Did you forget uniques when D4 launched? they were worse than PoE 2.
100% plus I'm having massives issues of enemies never dropping relevant tier of maps regardless of the atlas nodes. Like why the fuck am I getting flooded with T1 maps in a T6?
@@cyclogenisis use the reforge system. You Will never have issues again lmao
And btw what good is a freeze immunity charm in my belt if it's rarely active... lol They need to raise up the uptime on those charms or give me my Mageblood to have them up all the time;)
agree with everything you said. i like to add that:
1) ascendancy is the worst it's ever been 3rd and 4th one feel like a rng chore. why do i have to fight a steroid empowered godzilla to get my 2 points ? why is it so hard? shouldn't ascendancy be something fun?
2) wells feel so useless. if you are in a boss fight and teleport to down because you failed you identify some items and forget to click the well you are so triggered. why is it so difficult to just add that flasks fill instantly when i go to town or hideout?
3) why is the cost of respeccing still so high? it's early access aren't we supposed to use it to try the game? having the passive tree respec locked behind a cost just feels bad to me. let us try out the god damn game.
4) why did they not add the reforge bench and the salvage bench into the inventory with a simple button? ( only usable in hideout so you cannot abuse this system while in maps )
5) why do i have to click an npc everytime to identify items ? why does it not happen automatically?
@@ThePapaupa12 some items have value as unidentified gamble. It would be very annoying to sell them from maps
@@ThePapaupa12 Git Good. It was the same in POE 1 before all the bloat made trial runs significantly easier.
Granted POE2 has way less endgame content right now (and the content is very different from POE1), but it really stinks not
Being able to run the content I want over and over again
+1
With the exception that I AM greatly enjoying the endgame, but this is because the combat and overall game feel carry the game hard.
Agreed, well said. Player agency is gone and there is a lot of tedious prep to just progress maps, let alone farm them
Thats the whole game though. There's literally no reward for anything. All you get is flasks from every boss. lol.. Not sure why people have faith that the devs are going to change anything. They didn't change the things the majority of people hated in poe1 so I don't know why they would in poe2.
endgame bosses locked behind insane rng ( no citadels logbooks invitations ) sucks really bad
I've ran 10 logbooks all level 80+ and have yet to find the boss. Shits a joke
The gulf in quality between the campaign and endgame is the largest in any ARPG i've ever played. Endgame is unenjoyable for casuals.
must be why i kinda sidelined my infernalist and am leveling my monk up lol. i'm only on t6 or 7 maps on the infernalist, but i can already see the writing on the wall. unless i have a billion rarity on my gear...meh.
Skill issues 😅
Biggest difference for me is that each completed map in POE1 improves your atlas and each map after that has potential to earn you more. Here, you run 10 same maps, doing exact same stuff (sometimes like 12times, because of bricking maps on death) just to get sooome more chance for more map drops. I want to run my favourite mechanics immediatelly, even when they are still weak because of points lacking.
This game has such an identity crisis that I don’t know whether to be excited or nervous about what it shapes up to be.
It is the least tested part of the game. There will be improvements for sure. We just have to wait a bit for them to come.

Let it go.
@@henriquerodrigues7795it’s both a suffix and prefix, you can, and I have, gotten a double rarity stat roll
Imo thats even worse than socket colors cause socket colors are so trivial in PoE1 you only need to hunt some gear in early acts and can blast through half of the campaign with low af gear and good colors/gems and in maps its basically unimportant.
here i am having farmed over 50 t15's / 16's the past 2 days with 0 divine, 0 pj, 0 gj, 0 20 gem drops, without any tinks :(. today gonna be the day though, right? surely gonna find a citadel aswell. but no, we need to nerf loot in t15's because the top 0.2% of players with the best rarity gear provide 80% of the economy again
agreed. the devs shouldnt make the game around the top players
how much rarity do you use?
@Es_ÜP-i7u i was at 25 rarity. Now i am at 95 with charm but havent grinded alot since
Its not the rarity farming thats ruining the economy, its the flippers playing with decimals on faustus pushing the price of divines up by .01 every five minutes for hours at a time for profit.
The 0.1% players are too busy farming exp to sit and ruin the economy.
Its people in their hideouts NOT playing the game that is doing the damage.
Mapping is delve but worse not sure how they managed to do that
nailed it
Your actually right, didnt think of it that way.
They took the endgame system from last epoch. The system that made me quit the game back then.
Hope they will make it at least half fun to play as POE1.
mapping feels so slow and loot is not good at all... i dont see me farming 7k hours like in poe1.
mapping feels boring
very boring
I got to tier 10 and just went and made a new character. Boring as Sin

100% this.

You don't get it the idea is that if you find a good ring you need to change all your items to fir it.

Ah yes GGG should really take notes from the game with 1000 concurrent players

Getting fragments as SSF is bad I agree. But gearing to a pretty good baseline for T15 feels fine and min maxing takes a lot of grind, but I like it.
It is rushed. This is probably just a placeholder until they make the real end game

Yup, it feels more like an alternative endgame to poe1, it doesn't really fit the feel of poe2 at all. i stopped at tier 6 maps just completely unmotivated to continue.
i honestly think the gameplay peaks at mid act 1. the rest isn't bad but if they can shift the gameplay speed later to feel similar then that's what I'm really hoping for.
The campaign didn't feel good either though. All you get is flasks and BS gear the entire game.

Dying to a boss you're learning and having no more chances is pretty frustrating too. Sometimes you're going to die to learn a mechanic.
If you die, you lose. It's like that in almost all games.
It also costs 250 exalts to do 1 arbiter pinnacle boss. If you die once, that's it. 250 exalts down the drain. 10% xp gone. You don't get to learn more of the fight. Finding citadels takes hundreds of maps...What a terrible state the end game is in.
Most folks felt the peak excitement during leveling, and then that experience curve just plunged into abyss once you hit the Atlas.
i think they seriously need to nerf rarity its stupidly broken. also i personally kinda hate that in the endgame i feel like i have to go CI/energy shield or i am just running it down mid with how broken it is. grim feast should 100% be removed or have no overflow to it. also PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD give us a map tab or at least the affinity for it.

Id be completly happy with an updated game engine, new campaign and boss fights; just a fresh POE1. Thats what I would campaign to GGG for.
Btw try ice mages, I've been loving mapping since I switched. Free CC with decent clear and great single target. They make everything far more safe.

The last epoch rehash in poe universe isn't good. Last epoch endgame isn't good either. Poe1 endgame should have been the base and adjust for a new game and new players instead but still keep the feel of endgame flow from poe1.

(Except if you are fubgun xD)
The whole game is doing chaos damage and it is crazy to find chaos resistances or at least to find some currency to buy gear.
I hope he talks about magic find coz I think this single handedly ruins endgame for trade
They made the correct solution in poe1 only to have the same problem pop up in poe2 its kinda incredibly odd
There is a farm talk with fubgun coming up where they talk about it
I do kind of enjoy just sprinkling in rarity on gear to get alot better drops. But ehh
@@minhocho5487 They’ve done that with several systems. Spent years solving a problem in PoE1 only to go right back to square one in PoE2. Baffling.

Would have been best if this endgame had left out beta because we can assume this won't be endgame in release. I understand they wanted to leave something that you can test your build after partial campaign. Endgame is about 4-5/10 game at current state.

@@drcheesecak3 No no, he's not DougDoug
about campaign - i dropped 2h mace in act3 with good damage rolls (~200-280) and give it to my friend - he oneshotted all bosses in campaign since this moment.
> PoE 2 would benefit more from being a slower paced methodical arpg with similar mechanics (leagues) to PoE 1
What's the advantage to that though?
Unbelievable. Unbelievable. Slower? It’s already barely tolerable with 30% ms boots.

Imo, they should make runes have tiers based on progression
a1-a3/a4-a6/maps
Snow rune - 10 cold res/ice rune - 20 cold res/glacial rune - 30 res
Same failures indeed.
Magic find still exists
"crafting" is still at its core gambling
on death effects everywhere that last way too long(also usually have terrible visual queues)

at the very least they need to actually make a REAL crafting system. Not gambling with extra steps.
I’m up to T6 and I’m bored. Not interesting or rewarding enough for me.
On paper, the design seems good, but in practice it needs some improvement.
Lack of loot filter support on console is also really rough.
This comment section says it all about how the average player feels about the state of poe 2
i like everything but early maps.....because gear from the campaign sucks so much that T1 maps are rough
Thank you for the video. I'm still at t10 so this was very educational. I'm having a blast with my current build and I'm playing and having fun for several hours every day since the EA launch
PoE2 should be PoE2. Not PoE1.
Everyone who says this just hasn’t played poe1. They either heard about it, looked at it through the prism of someone with the mirror build or just played 20 hours and got too scared of the amount of different mechanics NO ONE expects you to engage with at the same time.

- Boring endgame
- Repetitive maps
- Tideous grinding
- Obsolete on-death XP punishment
- Cafting is just a theory; everyone just buys what they need
- Massive bugs, visual glitches, disconnects
- Lack of server performance
- Group mapping is the only way of leveling
- Missing 99.9% of MTX from PoE 1
- Game is barily playable in 1080p
- 4K 120Hz? I can offer you 2 fps
- In-game shop's MTX are too expensive
- Copy/Paste low effort armor MTX with 2005 visuals
- Massive currency inflation
- Console experience is even worse
Was there any negative streamer feedback from pre-testing the game? Just a single one from the above?? No. Because they were told to hold on their critics after the game launched and made money.
PoE 1 Veterans get mad because it's not even close to the original experience. Casual players get frustrated because 3 hours of grinding laggy maps is worth nothing when you just die once.
And every critic from players like myself is treated the same way: "Bro, chill. It's early access man. What do you expect? The game will be free eventually."
The official forums are flooded with complaints, feedback, bug reports and opinions. Instead of begging us to give you our money to see you actually enjoying the game, and in return posting the same nonsensical build showcase video, you should stand your ground and talk about the real problems.
If I invest time and money, I want something in return. In this case I can't enjoy playing because the game lacks in performance. And I can't progress because if I only make one mistake within two hours of grinding T15 maps and die, I'll be put back at the start of my XP bar.

its pretty hard to upgrade good gear to better gear allready due to the high prices which makes it harder to continue farming
A lot of new players who didn't play poe 1 are already dropping the game. GGG should really fix a lot of things on this new game. It is showing now that they wanted people to grind for hundreds of hours just to find 1 good item which shouldn't be the design of an arpg.
i think thats the core design in a arpg but ok lol even i dont like it but reality is that.
@@Rastei no. it was never designed like that. Where and what ARPG have you played?
Thats not true tho, game is sustaining its playerbase really well if you check steam charts

Not that early, doubt for a few months. Not till new classes I'd bet.
Its a really bad idea if they do. It would be like putting lipstick on a pig.
"At the end of January" 😅 I knew poe2 first content patch would have trouble overlapping with PoE1 3.26
I am considering just quitting until they change it or not playing again if they don't.
you can do ultimatums instead of sanctum
@Eternalbuble none of the ultimatum tokens I have say they award ascendancy points. Meanwhile, I keep dropping sanctum tokens with the text that they award ascendancy points. Maybe later on, or at higher tiers they drop, but that does help me progress now. I would do ultimatum if it were an option at the level I'm at, but that doesn't seem to be the case.
@@xXRueMorgueXx Might just be bugged, you could try one and see maybe. I guess they kinda take a while.
Crafting with merchants is fine what are you on
It doesn't have an endgame identity. It feels too similar to poe 1 endgame
the whole game feels like poe1 except for combat.
poe2 was supposed to be fundamentally different at its core not only the combat. but the combat is basically the only thing thats not just poe1 or poe1 but worse.
Agree, especially sucks when you get a higher tier map, exalt it twice for more map drops, run it on a boss and do not even get drop of a same level map. I spected in map tier on Atlas and that shit happened quite a few times
I'm probably done with the game if it just becomes poe1 again.

Good riddance

It is hilarious how soft the POE community is. First it is 'sanctum is literally impossible' then someone shows you how to stack honor and honor resist and you can run sanctums with melees that never could in poe1, then there are no drops and people figure out how to farm currency, then all the builds have no damage and suddenly people are just one shotting bosses.
All these scrubs get angry that there isn't a guide yet for every detail and they might have to actually play the game and learn how to do some shit on their own.
Is the end game better than poe1? No, of course not.
But as a friend said: 'GGG is great at making 1/10 of a game at a time, as the new patches and leagues come this game is going to be legendary'
At the moment I have it as easily the best campaign in a ARPG, and I am loving a lot of what the endgame has. I think the entire skill gem system is a miss, and I agree with Zizz on expedition and deli.
6:30 "crafting"
What crafting? I didn't see any crafting.
Crafting is when you know what you get. RNG and gambling is not crafting.
theres no point of this game if people can already zoom across end game maps and one shot end game bosses. theres no point. its just poe 1 again. all that time and development wasted just to remake poe 1.
The problems are:
1. no incentive to craft...
(not exact percentages but something like that...)
3. I've only ever across 6 characters manged to get really lucky crafting an item 2 times... the rest has been a joke.
4. currently just play till you get a div orb, trade it for exalts. and you can just buy whatever you need... not fun...
PoE 2 should have just been a single player campaign game. I just don’t see myself replaying this multiple times a year and play PoE 1 leagues.
People like empyrian gaming will always exist, does the game needs them to be better?no
I think the biggest benefit of playing Hardcore is learning how to make my build very strong. Once I get to endgame, hopefully I’ll be able to shred everything
