I am a math teacher in Charlotte NC. After watching your videos I have 2 words for you. “Marry me”. LOL. You are awesome. This is the stuff that should be going viral.
@@hardymenga4522 It’s noted okay. I will as it’s very important in Algebra. Check out our amazing tutorial on Indices as it’s a prerequisite for understanding Logarithms
You could also formulate the answer as log base 8 of 48 plus 1. I did it this way: 8^x+1 - 8^x-1 = 3024 8^x-1(8²-1) = 3024 8^x-1 (63) = 3024 8^x-1 = 48 (Substitute: x-1 = y) Then: 8^y = 48 y = log8(48) x = y+1 x = log8(48) + 1 Or x = log48/log8 + 1 Great video!

You could also formulate the answer as log base 8 of 48 plus 1.
I did it this way:
8^x+1 - 8^x-1 = 3024
8^x-1(8²-1) = 3024
8^x-1 (63) = 3024
8^x-1 = 48
(Substitute: x-1 = y)
Then:
8^y = 48
y = log8(48)
x = y+1
x = log8(48) + 1
Or
x = log48/log8 + 1
Great video!
