Let's call a thing a thing the reason why the show didn't blow up or maintained it momentum was because Makael didn't care about the show when Kevin needed him to care the most during the shift around 2016 i believe. The supporters felt all of it and grew frustrated even though Kevin tried his best to keep the ball rolling on his own for a while but the brand works as a duo.
It’s crazy bc they were gaining steam momentum 2011/2012 with the interviews but yes it’s bc of makeal he has a nasty disposition and I’m shocked they’re still recording together. I took a several year break. I didn’t know momma skorpion passed and Kevin moved.

I wrote a letter to you and Mama Skorpion seeking advice on moving to attend Temple University, but letting go of the fear of leaving my mother behind because my father had passed away. Listen, I sent in a super chat asking the very question that Kevin stated in the beginning but I didn't phrase it that nicely. Let's be clear, Neither member of the Skorpion Show should have to work regular jobs at this point. This show proceeded The Read, The Joe Budden Podcast, and so many others that are popular right now. The issue was Makael. He didn't do what was necessary to keep steam and Kevin accepted it.
The fact that we all got belly's is taking me..I've been here since the beginning we've basically grown together y'all will always be my favs I'm so thankful to have found y'all way back when.
The skorpion show was the first UA-camrs i watched and subscribed too. You guys are definitely pioneers in this content space, especially, for blk UA-camrs.
So many UA-cam's have not "blown up" because they y would not allow themselves to be degraded just to "rub elbows with "B list celebrity, a quick check. Many who took the butt kissing path are now be cast aside, begging for donations.

I watched you all since you first started years ago, and I don't think there was anyone else doing what you were doing at that time, or maybe it was that I just watched your show. I really enjoy your show and am glad that you all are still here. McHale (don't know if I spelled your name wrong) use to always say, "I don't live here!" That thing was so funny because it was so much going on at Kevin's house and we would be reminded that McHale didn't live there, but I was there for it. I’ve been watching the show since the beginning and it actually pains me to hear this talked about bc I’m sure we all feel yall should be further but both ppl aren’t comfortable with growth, and it has been the set back. Kevin wants more and always wanted more. This whole time it has seemed like Kevin has been doing all the work with editing, promoting, uploading, and finding ways to innovate and Makael just shows up when it’s convenient for him. When I came out the closet(Lesbian), I felt safe knowing that I black LGBT people truly exist and love life fearlessly. Idc if y’all only post one video a year, imma still watch. 🎉🎉

I think this channel never blew up because its not evolving with the UA-cam feautres and algortihm. Creators have also upped their game in terms of video editing and production value. Yall need to improve your audio equiment, change the format (sit closer to the screen), add time stamps and chapters to these long ass videos, and cut this up into shorts. Short form is how people find your content and what goes viral, nobody has the attenion span to watch a 1+ hour show like before. Thumbnails, captions, so so many small tweaks you can make that will put you on par with where the bar is set today and will do wonders for your views. You can hire a video editor on up work if you don't have the time to do it yourself.

Displaying such vuneralbility is brave and a lot us need to hear that we're not alone in grief, depression, forgetfullness, confusion, etc. Life will always life, but how you take care of yourself, even if it means loosing out on money or views, should always be the priority. Wow not surprised by Makael’s reasoning for why they aren’t bigger. It would be too much like right to say that laziness, lack of consistency, evolving, and effort were the reason. No you guys don’t have to be big or on television, but yall could’ve definitely turned this opportunity into an actual career, where you don’t have to work an actual job, and set yall up to be homeowners, entrepreneurs etc. But then again , everyone is not meant to be an entrepreneur because some lack the grit really necessary to be successful as an entrepreneur.

He came back and admitted that you guys had been slipping and not giving 100% to your channel. Makeal remained on his phone during hot topics and barely even watched the shows that Kevin was commenting on. At certain points I thought it was pointless to continue watching as im sure many others did but until now no one has verbally expressed it. The reality is they are very much like Desus and Mero. If you and your partner aren’t aligned in the your goals it’s always going to be disjointed at times. So in this setting since the life of this venture Makael hasn’t depending on this to pay his bills ala Desus while Kevin has ala Mero, and as that manifested more you could see the switch where Makael would spend more time driving uber to make money on the side instead of working with Kevin to invest more in the show, podcast, live events and the such. Then once the market got fluid with the pandemic and YT changing terms due to so many people now being active they missed their window. When I first started watching in 2012 we were all in the same financial situation which made the show relatable even though being a straight black male I had I can admit preconceived notions that I couldn’t find two gay guys funny bc how could we relate, but I was so wrong bc they showed me the shared exp of being black and from a major city (chi) was way more than just what we are attracted to. I said all that to say this that when people are united in their goals and plans then you consistently have small growth in stagnant increments instead of soaring as they could have been many many years ago.
I can be honest and say my friend and I have been watching you guys since 2010 (me) and 2012 (my friend) and we actually had this conversation about you guys...I was asking her why it "seemed" like you guys had not evolved like some of your fellow UA-camrs.But Mikael made an excellent point about maybe it is not your assignment to be in a certain place or space with UA-cam. I remembwr the woisode where Iyanla asked yall werent pivoting to podcasts and yall exolained why you didnt want to. I think that was a pivotal time for vloggers who transitioned from YT to podcasts. Tbf I stopped watching when they started sending us to the paying channels to watch the show. I mean we went from being on Kevin mum dining table to now asking us to pay. You can watch most podcast shows for free on UA-cam these days. Even Breakfast club interviews , Funky Dineva ect...But I understand that they needed to make more money than what they were getting from UA-cam. It became a serious thing rather than the fun funny banter you use to have when reporting stuff. It was light shade and fun. So now Every time I would see the video is only 30 min long I wouldn't bother 😂. Only stopped today because it say over 1 hour !

I’ve been a loyal fan since middle school and it’s crazy UA-cam doesn’t even recommend their videos to me anymore 😪 but tbh they didn’t blow because they weren’t consistent and didn’t develop the brand and take it further when the shift started happening.

A mix of both I think. Consistency is key. And keeping up to date with the tech, they have so much content in the backlog that could be made into shorts and tik tok videos. They could have pulled the audio footage to have as a podcast (this is really straight forward). So yh its also strange that they have not been pushed by the algorithm considering how long they’ve been around.

As far as I'm concerned, The Skorpion Show started all of this. I watched you all since you first started years ago, and I don't think there was anyone else doing what you were doing at that time, or maybe it was that I just watched your show. I really enjoy your show and am glad that you all are still here. McHale (don't know if I spelled your name wrong) use to always say, "I don't live here!" That thing was so funny because it was so much going on at Kevin's house and we would be reminded that McHale didn't live there, but I was there for it. And one day McHale responded to one of my comments to tell me, my name is not Kevin, and that's all he said. I loved it -- McHale's read. But I am still here for The Skorpion Show even to this day ❤

I’ve been watching the show since the beginning and it actually pains me to hear this talked about bc I’m sure we all feel yall should be further but both ppl aren’t comfortable with growth, and it has been the set back.
Kevin wants more and always wanted more. This whole time it has seemed like Kevin has been doing all the work with editing, promoting, uploading, and finding ways to innovate and Makael just shows up when it’s convenient for him. And when people did complain, he ignored it and stayed on his phone. It sucks bc Makael is sooo smart but he’s not always right, and they should definitely be up there with The Read.

My mother introduced me to you guys in 2010, and we watched y’alll religiously. Y’all got me through high school, college, countless break ups, and even my mother’s death in 2017. When I came out the closet(Lesbian), I felt safe knowing that I black LGBT people truly exist and love life fearlessly. Idc if y’all only post one video a year, imma still watch. 🎉🎉

I think this channel never blew up because its not evolving with the UA-cam feautres and algortihm. Creators have also upped their game in terms of video editing and production value. Yall need to improve your audio equiment, change the format (sit closer to the screen), add time stamps and chapters to these long ass videos, and cut this up into shorts. Short form is how people find your content and what goes viral, nobody has the attenion span to watch a 1+ hour show like before. Thumbnails, captions, so so many small tweaks you can make that will put you on par with where the bar is set today and will do wonders for your views. You can hire a video editor on up work if you don't have the time to do it yourself.

First, thank you for being honest and sharing ya'll lives, the good, the bad, and the ugly. Displaying such vuneralbility is brave and a lot us need to hear that we're not alone in grief, depression, forgetfullness, confusion, etc. Life will always life, but how you take care of yourself, even if it means loosing out on money or views, should always be the priority. Wow not surprised by Makael’s reasoning for why they aren’t bigger. It would be too much like right to say that laziness, lack of consistency, evolving, and effort were the reason. No you guys don’t have to be big or on television, but yall could’ve definitely turned this opportunity into an actual career, where you don’t have to work an actual job, and set yall up to be homeowners, entrepreneurs etc. But then again , everyone is not meant to be an entrepreneur because some lack the grit really necessary to be successful as an entrepreneur.

I love you guys and have been watching since your inception but let's call a thing a thing. Specifically recalling when you guys were invited to your 1st UA-cam BLACK event. Kevin was soo fired up and inspired from all the break out sessions and positive interactions. He came back and admitted that you guys had been slipping and not giving 100% to your channel. As a result he promised us we would see a change and I was extremely excited to be a part of the supportive journey. Well needless to say it never happened. Makeal remained on his phone during hot topics and barely even watched the shows that Kevin was commenting on. At certain points I thought it was pointless to continue watching as im sure many others did but until now no one has verbally expressed it. The reality is they are very much like Desus and Mero. If you and your partner aren’t aligned in the your goals it’s always going to be disjointed at times. So in this setting since the life of this venture Makael hasn’t depending on this to pay his bills ala Desus while Kevin has ala Mero, and as that manifested more you could see the switch where Makael would spend more time driving uber to make money on the side instead of working with Kevin to invest more in the show, podcast, live events and the such. Then once the market got fluid with the pandemic and YT changing terms due to so many people now being active they missed their window. When I first started watching in 2012 we were all in the same financial situation which made the show relatable even though being a straight black male I had I can admit preconceived notions that I couldn’t find two gay guys funny bc how could we relate, but I was so wrong bc they showed me the shared exp of being black and from a major city (chi) was way more than just what we are attracted to. I said all that to say this that when people are united in their goals and plans then you consistently have small growth in stagnant increments instead of soaring as they could have been many many years ago.
I can be honest and say my friend and I have been watching you guys since 2010 (me) and 2012 (my friend) and we actually had this conversation about you guys...I was asking her why it "seemed" like you guys had not evolved like some of your fellow UA-camrs.But Mikael made an excellent point about maybe it is not your assignment to be in a certain place or space with UA-cam. UA-cam does not define your level of success. Both of you have elevated in your own lives outside of UA-cam. You guys are successful in your own right and continue to be Blessed.💜

The reason the show never took off is because you guys' production and edits are lacking quality. You need to update the structure and the media audio and visuals of the show. It's not 2008. Makael sounds too complacent with the ' we both got stable jobs that pay us and we get paid from here too' boy that attitude sounds like you don't care about the progress or evolution of the show!
We have many from your era who have sustained and become bigger than their earlier days. You guys need to do LIVE SHOWS, CHANGE UP THE TOPIC DIALOUGE, HAVE YOUR FRIENDS ROUND LIKE YALL USED TOO, MAYBE INTRODUCE NEW SEGMENTS MOVIE REVIEWS, POLITICS AND SOME PERSONAL TO BE RELATABLE. Tbf I stopped watching when they started sending us to the paying channels to watch the show. I mean we went from being on Kevin mum dining table to now asking us to pay.
You can watch most podcast shows for free on UA-cam these days. Even Breakfast club interviews , Funky Dineva ect...But I understand that they needed to make more money than what they were getting from UA-cam. It became a serious thing rather than the fun funny banter you use to have when reporting stuff. It was light shade and fun.
So now Every time I would see the video is only 30 min long I wouldn't bother 😂. Only stopped today because it say over 1 hour !
I think yall should hire a consultant and an intern to grow. Nowadays, these channels have teams of people helping them grow their channel, so it’s not you guys. I’ve been a loyal fan since middle school and it’s crazy UA-cam doesn’t even recommend their videos to me anymore 😪 but tbh they didn’t blow because they weren’t consistent and didn’t develop the brand and take it further when the shift started happening.
You don’t think it’s strange that every toxic black male with a mic has no issues being pushed by UA-cam and the two men talking about politics, religion, grief, and morals are not??????
A mix of both I think. Consistency is key. And keeping up to date with the tech, they have so much content in the backlog that could be made into shorts and tik tok videos. They could have pulled the audio footage to have as a podcast (this is really straight forward).
So yh its also strange that they have not been pushed by the algorithm considering how long they’ve been around.
