This video was the best thing an artist could do in response to their haters and put alllll the drama in there. She turned all the hate she got into her power and symbol! How powerful! So proud of her

But I also truly enjoy watching newer fans discovering Taylor's talent for the first time and getting that pure reaction with only the necessary context, it's fun! Yes, this is one of her most complex, if not the most complex, of her music videos, due to all the symbolism. Taylor has said that there are Easter eggs that it may take 10 years for people to find, so no worries about not noticing them (I believe the Bejeweled video is at a similar level; she had to create a PDF to keep track of all the hidden clues for that one). I'm glad you have enough knowledge of the context around Reputation to appreciate how well the video represents the message of the song, and to enjoy it, which it seems like you did. I adore this song, definitely fits on Lover. Sonically it reminds me of Afterglow, which is one of my favorites on Lover. People rank that album really low. It's a top album for me because I love pop, and the highs are SO HIGH. She just could have cut like 5 tracks. It's wild that she kept this song off the album and left some very... *underehelming* tracks. Looking forward to you doing Lover!
