Praying for Sampson's smooth recovery. Thanks, Joel, for your compassion, care and transporting him. I know his Mom appreciated that, Sampson is one of my favorites at the stable. Blessings,
Ooooohhhh....am soooory for my bestest horse,i love all of them, however,Samson sticks out of all because of his body...❤❤❤❤GET WELL SOON SAMSON,love from Kenya (Africa).
Prayers for Samson’s recovery and complete healing. So glad he was able to receive the care he needs. He is such a great boy. Thank you for including us in this stage of his treatment❤
Hey Joel, and all the folks at Sunny Knoll! Awesome video! So good to see dear Samson being a truly good boy during this procedure. WARNING: the following is very "nursy" talks so be advised if you're a bit squeamish! As a retired nurse, I'll tell you that the term "catheter" just means a tube. It can be various sizes, from the small one you see on Samson (some are even smaller) to quite large ones. They are basically used to drain fluid from the body. For example, if you had fluid in your lungs (like in some types of pneumonia) they might put a catheter into your side and into the lung to drain the fluid out. The type you referred to as "the other end " 🤭would be urinary catheters, used to drain the bladder. Often put in during some types of surgeries, or maybe afterwards, if you can't pee. In Samsons case, I agree; what they did for him is totally awesome. The good news is that squamous cell carcinomas (cancer) are a type of skin cancer, and are *_very_* treatable if caught early. Looks like Samson has some good friends at the stable who are taking excellent care of this magnificent animal. Good job all!
Get better soon sweet Sampson! Thank you for taking us on the journey and giving us his heath update! I know it’s a balance on what you can say as it’s a business and they are clients but grateful his owner is so willing to share stuff with us!
My goodness you are such a loving community to help out in times of need. From willing clients who graciously lend trailers, to sweet owners who reassure us viewers about the care needed for Sampson. He is the goodest boy, I hope he gets lots of supervised walks to help the "cabin fever" of being stuck inside. My prayers for his healing, quick recovery, and discernment for his caregivers. Thank you for allowing us to share the good and bad of your stable life.
I love all the horses but I absolutely adore Sampson. I was sad but so impressed by what they are able to do now. Thanks for sharing this with us and thank the owner for allowing you to share. Praying for an easy recovery.
Thank you for the loving care for Sampson and all the animals you are entrusted with. Another day well done. This world really is hard to live in, not just for people, but also for the innocent animals who survive in it.
Hope he is recovering well. Thank you to his owner for explaining what is going on to us and for allowing us to be apart of it. Big hugs to all of you, her and Sampson.
Wow, such a lovely horse. My Shire swayed like a sailor while trailering and caused everything to vibrate. I hope he gets well quickly and it would be nice if a doctor could do a follow-up examination at your farm. 400 km in one day is also really hard
What a gentle giant as everyone else has said! Wow.. meds every 6hrs for 2 weeks!? Sampson is having amazing care! Here's to a speedy recovery for the big ole boy! 🐎 🐴 🎠 🏇
Praying for animals is a real thing. Right now, I cannot remember the book, but it also speaks of a special place created for animals in eternity. They did not sin. Except one and the LORD took away his legs and now he crawls upon his belly and eats dust. Animals are spoken of throughout the entire Bible........ May the Lord Jesus Christ look upon Sampson and touch his eye. Let him give the keepers of this beautiful gentle horse the wisdom to care for her. Touch the heart of the one that you entrusted Sampson to, her owner, with peace of heart. Her love for your creation is great. Amen
We are so happy Sampson’s surgery went well. Joel you took such good care of him. Thanks for the metric conversion Gavin! Keep them coming! Happy New Year from your Canadian friends!🇨🇦
When I worked on the dairy farm, our milking schedule was 3 am, 11 am, and 7 pm. Was up at 1:30 am. I got the early morning milking. But helped out with 11 am milking also. Went home at 4 pm.
Love your videos, thanks for sharing. Thank you and Samsons owner for allowing us to learn about his surgery. Such a beautiful animal, as are all your horses and of course the donkeys. Hope he recuperates well and no recurrence! Is his owner going too stay in the evening and give him the medication or will you need to? Wow, every 6 years, yikes. It is amazing how far surgeries and medical treatments have come. Prayers for Samson..let us know how things are going ☺ 🐎
A friend of mine had a draft horse he was 20.2 hh. They had to rebuild a furniture removal truck to tranport him anywhere. He also had a custom built stable. I rode him once and oh boy. Am glad it went well for Samson. Ty for helping him.
I love being able to see the scenery as you are driving, thank you for that as it is probably the closest I will ever get to Pennsylvania!!! I am so glad that Sampson came through it okay as he is an awesome creature!!!
I'm so happy for Sampson! I'm also pretty amazed they were able to do such delicate eye surgery. That was really cool. Sampson has such a great mom; thank you so much for sharing his story with us. I have to admit, I have a soft spot in my heart for Belgians as I also follow a Belgian horse rescue UA-cam channel that saves the big horses from slaughter after many from the Amish communities country-wide are no longer able to make use of them. Makes me wonder if Landon knew about Sampson's eye surgery when he was there and was blessing him in some way before the surgery was performed. Or it could just be a coincidence. 😉 Prayers that Sampson heals very quickly and completely so he can be out in the field again with his friends.💜
It warms my heart to see the attention everyone is giving Sampson. Is his eye trouble something that happens to older horses? How old is Sampson? Just had cataract surgery on my eyes so I feel me and Sampson are both dealing with eye surgeries maybe due to the aging process. Anyway hang in there Sampson we’re rooting for you.
That type of Cancer is very common for humans too. Usually it's found on the nose, ears, cheeks and areas exposed to the sun. How amazing that his entire eye wasn't removed. Very good care must have been why it was detected so early!
I was once driving on the motorway (freeway) when a horse trailer and its car parted company, it then spun round like a merry go round. Several truck drivers managed to pull the trailer off the motorway. The horse was not very happy, you could hear him kicking the trailer. I luckily had a good stopping distance between me and the car in front, except someone from behind over took me and stole my stopping distance. I was not best pleased.
Sampson the gentle giant was sharing the love in the previous video. Now, he's receiving the love. I hope everything turns out well for him. I hate to change the subject but where is Pete? I was hoping he would make a special appearance for Christmas dressed as an elf. 😂😂😂 I hope he is doing well since he disappeared.
Big Beautiful Gentle Giant SAMPSON has such a calm lovely temperament ❤❤ His owner loving on him 😍😍😍😍 Good video highlighting the time and care needed having a horse 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 Love from the UK x

Many hugs to Sampson -- though how you can hug a horse that size I cannot imagine -- may all go well for him.
Hope he is recovering well. Thank you to his owner for explaining what is going on to us and for allowing us to be apart of it. Big hugs to all of you, her and Sampson.
Hopefully that will be the last surgery for Sampson. Been watching you and him for a long time.
