I'll say this, Ancelotti deserves the criticism he gets from some Madrid fans, there's absolutely no reason a team consisting of Mbappe, Vini, Rodrygo, Bellingham, Valverde, Modric, Camavinga and talented youngsters like Arda and Endrick aren't able to consistently string 5 passes together to create space for a chance at goal.

I've been rewatching Madrid games from the 3-peat years over the past weeks in the int'l break, and 2 things stood out to me immediately:
1. The sheer technical quality that team had was INSANE. Bro, from Sergio Ramos and Marcelo in the defense, to prime Modric, prime Kroos, James Rodriguez, and Isco in the midfield, and to BBC in attack, everybody was able to perform magic with that ball. You had like 10 world class passers and dribblers in that team. Today, the current players are missing easy passes, not just complicated ones, and them beating a man feels like a rarity. In terms of pure technical quality, other than Vini, nobody walks into that 3-peat team.
2. The forwards were unreal. What I mean by that is they had the speed and technicality of the forwards Madrid have now, but they were tall and atheltic, all of them were amazing at scoring headers, and especially at winning long balls played by the defense. Now if Militao or Rudiger play a long ball, there's a 95% chance the opposition wins the first ball.
Bro what? I don’t get u guys comparing that team to this team? That team had guys like Isco, Kroos, modric who can break a defensive line with one pass dude even ramos n Marcelo. It’s not the same. This is a completely different type of team.

There will never be that good old dominant Real Madrid again. You can’t ever replace Modric, Kross and Casemiro who were the heart and soul of this team. Simply, they are Irreplaceable by their talent and especially by their selfless mentality. Real Madrid has to adopt and change how their play with these guys they have now, which is to play faster and more vertical football like City does. This is just my humble opinion

In BOTH instances we relied on the opposition to fail (Neuer dropping the ball, City thinking they won the game). There was hardly anything Ancelotti did that any other manager couldn't have done in those instances if they just decided to say "play how you want to play, just go forward."

Bellingham should've been MVP of this match, his work rate today was unreal. Our midfield definitely is not the problem, our defense is the problem in addition to not being good on the ball.

If u see all the games games except todays luka through ball no one ever tries to give a though ball, i saw the game vs lile, 80 mins madrid down by 1 goal all the forwards and midfielers were standing like statues without running behind defenders, i was literally crying to see that, no wonder we lost.

We need to understand that this year’s Real Madrid is kind of brand new in a sense that : they just got Mbappe who isn’t the typical player. He and the team need some time to adapt to each other. It’s the first year without Tony Kroos since 10 freaking years. These are HUGE changes and all they had this summer to prepare this season was 1 or 2 weeks.. We need to be patient
