Thank you for such an informative video. I live in an apartment complex just outside Boston. After using for a year, how is it holding up for you? I'm seeing a lot of comments in different channels saying how cheap they are and they don't hold up. First time I visited your channel. Nice workshop.
Well, to be honest it has been fine, but in Missouri I can't say I have overworked it! We only had a few snows last year, and only 1 snow so far this year. Like anything the true test is probably more frequent use. No complaints so far from me. Battery is still doing good as well. @@ABrazHouse mine worked once. Apparently they have a fuse in the battery, that blows if it's drawing to much. It's not a fuse you can just snap in. It's soddered
I purchased one like this (battery) I am used to shoveling lots of snow but this year I thought I need to find another way that does not wear me out and so then it dawned on me what about my large driveway it is a gravel driveway will I be able to use it on that also. Any feedback about this anyone?
I got mine today (new). I could not put the handle together because the cord is way too long and fat to tuck inside. It's going back. No wonder Snow Joe sell so much "re-certified" on ebay.
Interesting, I'm curious, I have front and side sidewalks, and a two-car driveway. I'm in Wisconsin, so we usually get a few 5 to 12 inch snowfalls per year. Would you go for a more heavy-duty electric shovel or a snowblower? I'm also considering a corded snowblower due to it being wider and cheaper (even though I hate cords)... I don't have a ton of money and I have a health issue, so I'm having a bit of a tough time deciding. Also, how long does it take you to clear your property? Any regrets? Anyways enough rambling... Thanks for this great video!
I probably would agree that wider would be a good choice. I hate cords too, so I would do a little extra work to avoid them. I have a similar situation, though we don't get as many of the deeper snows that you get. Let's say on a 6inch snow it would take me about 40min to do my 2 car garage and 1 sidewalk. No regrets on my part! Good luck to you!
@@kurt3543 He didn't write garage, he wrote driveway. Driveways don't typically have roofs. He is probably comparing his 2 car "driveway" to the authors driveway, that also didn't have a roof.
Just bought one for a Christmas present. My question is concerning the battery life. How long did it take you to do all that and still have one bar. From watching the video, that is a large area you did without charging. That's quite impressive. I bought a leaf blower and when on high, the battery life was maybe 20 mins at best. On low, close to 35 mins.
@@handlesarethelaststrawiquit Good luck on your search! We have a snow coming in tomorrow so I get to test my most recent acquisition, a 48v Snow Blower!
I bought one and so far I think it’s a piece of crap. The upper part of the handle isn’t very secure no matter how tight you crank down that wing nut, so it’s wobbly. It’s clumsily balanced, and it was quite hard to push through just 3” of wet snow. It threw the snow everywhere; there’s really no way to aim it - it just goes up and spreads out. It pelted my second story windows with snow. After working on one small area (you have to shove it forward very hard to get through the snow) my arms got tired and I switched to a regular shovel, which was far less work. I chalk mine up to $200 wasted. I doubt I will ever use it again.
I haven't experienced a problem with the handle on mine...but that would def be an issue if I did. As I have used it more I did adjust the handle a little further up. I imagine the height and arm length of the operator could impact this. If the whole thing was a couple of inches longer it would be more comfortable for me to use (I'm 6'). I had a similar snow (3" wet), and though I was good with how it handled it, it handled our most recent 7" snow even better (dry snow, one digit temps). It does take a little technique in how to direct the snow. I like the fact that it throws it so far. I don't have those big piles of snow around my driveway that I do when I shovel it with a regular shove. All that being said, it has a bit of a niche fit for me. Sidewalk, tight fits around my cars in the driveway, and deck. I can't say I would have made the purchase if it was $200. I probably would have just spent a little more for a true snow blower. I spent $80 on mine. Thanks for your opinion...it is good to have the comments. It will no doubt be helpful to others if they are considering buying one. Thanks again!
My neighbor did the exact same thing. Gave up after 15 minutes of struggling and broke out old reliable shovel. It looked pretty embarrassing. I’m not sold on electric yet. I had an electric lawnmower. Quickly sold that and bought a gas one. 15 years later, still using that same gas lawnmower.
@@ABrazHouse I get comments like these in my videos also lol. You can’t please everyone. When I did music I would sometimes get complaints, when I took the music out I got TONS of complaints.. so now I do a little bit of both, or half and half, sometimes all in the same video. You did a great job 👏
can that electric snow shovel be used to clear snow piled up around fire hydrants like you see in these videos? ua-cam.com/video/yQbwwTyqV-U/v-deo.html ua-cam.com/video/rYuwD3JVJs4/v-deo.html
I used it near the end of my drive by pushing it directly into some packed snow. It did ok, but it still has to throw it out and based on the videos you posted it would throw it into the road and the cars. :). Probably wouldn't be to good on it if it was used repetitiously in that manner (hard packed snow).
@@ABrazHouse oh, ok. I've heard that shovel is good for removing snow that's 4 inches high so I wondered, if you start at the top of the snow pile, can you use that shovel to shave off 4 inches at a time until you reach the bottom of the fire hydrant? Or would that be just as much work as shoveling by hand?
@@ABrazHouse I rarely use sarcasm. My bad. It looks like a useful device for my 5 foot tall 67 year old mother. What I ment is my fully in shape body can do the job much faster. 10 times may be an exaggeration. I ordered that model we will find out. Thank you regardless of the outcome for your review.
No problem! A wide shovel is probably a good 8 inches wider, so I imagine in workout mode it is faster. I felt I was able to pace myself with this, with good results once I determined a method with the wind and angle. It was quite satisfying seeing that snow thrown 20 ft into the yard. It also is small and easy to store. I believe she will find it easier than using a shovel.

Wow, mine was only about $89 I believe. That was last year...has inflation been that bad?
@@ABrazHouse Yikes! glad I didn't order one. I want one like it but will probably get a different brand.
@@handlesarethelaststrawiquit Good luck on your search! We have a snow coming in tomorrow so I get to test my most recent acquisition, a 48v Snow Blower!
@@ABrazHouse i have a 48 inch snow blower on the front of my lawn tractor, but I'm getting too old to use a manual shovel around the house and stairs.
Loved the background music. Turn it up next time!
Noted! That's always a gamble. Some like it some don't! :)
You should improve your audio. I can barely hear you, the music is too loud. Good video tho
Yeah, my video editing skills are work in progress!
Hate the background music. Please not use it again!
Thanks for the input!
Please stop it with the music. You don't need it. Not Every sec. of your video needs to have sound in it.
Thanks for your input!
@@ABrazHouse I get comments like these in my videos also lol. You can’t please everyone. When I did music I would sometimes get complaints, when I took the music out I got TONS of complaints.. so now I do a little bit of both, or half and half, sometimes all in the same video. You did a great job 👏
Thanks! So true on the impossibility to please everyone! :)
LOL
@@BiffsEquipmentyou got tons of complaints about not having dance music in the background at all times? Really?
can that electric snow shovel be used to clear snow piled up around fire hydrants like you see in these videos?

Yes, that’s what I did in that situation. It throws the snow pretty good!
Good video.... just turn off music
I'm learning here! You will have to check out my next review and see if it is any better! :)
Video good, but background music sucks.
Thanks for the candid review! :)
Lose the crappy music please.
Thanks for your input!
That’s a small battery
Yeah, not too bad!
That literally took 10 times longer than a shovel.
On the other hand for my 67 year old mother living alone. This could be very useful.
:) Very funny, though not true.
@@ABrazHouse
I rarely use sarcasm.
@@ABrazHouse race your neighbor; I DARE YOU
Lol! I just might!

You shoveling in dress shoes???? 😂😂😂😂😂
Was I? :)
Your garage is fake. How could your opinion possibly be trustworthy
It’s a studio?
:) I do my videos from it so I guess it could be in a way. Believe it or not I am converting it to a woodworking shop...so stay tuned!
:) Lol I know...I've heard it before. Just watch it transform into a woodworking shop over the next year!
Waste of money, crap
So some have said. Not my experience! Mine is still running strong, and for the right purpose works great!
