  • The people on my right were talking very loudly following a memorial service at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Arlington. The guard walks by and yells at the people. Sorry about the noise my camera is making

Blame their parents. People have to be taught how to behave with respect in a solemn place. At least the audience in this vid did shut up once told.

vulturedoors Why blame the parents? He is an adult and not a child. In that age he should know whats respect is.

    • @nayeligonzalez13

I identify as a _Reversed Heart_ but you need to blame the parent since being respectful is a learned habit you pick up when in an environment that enforces it. Look at Trump he was never taught limits and respect thus living his entire 70 years not knowing how to properly give respect

    • @Laura-zc6rm
      @Laura-zc6rm 7 років тому +2

      Nayeli Gonzalez
Yes, the respect is learned by the parents, its their duty. But the attitude of a child can change, and its not the parents fault.
What if their parents teached him/her that? You will is still blame them?
We dont even know him/her, and as far i can see, he/she is an adult.
So blame his/her parents is pretty a pointless argument here.

Not really children are a complete mirror image of their parents . Ask a child physiologist ,when children have behavior problems they start with parents .. Had you raised children and looked at other peoples children you would see it clearly . The only exception is when a child as it grows up becomes determined to avoid the pitfalls he might notice his parents take .

The tomb of the unknown soldier is both a real burial place as well as a symbol for all Americans who have died in all wars, and who have been anonymous or no one claimed their remains. It is a sad place, and its dignity should be maintained. He is doing his duty, in my opinion.

***** Sadly parents today only teach their kids about "rights" and nothing about their responsibilities. They also seem to think that their rights somehow entails them to do whatever hell they want. Another factor is that they grew up with the internet and there you can say whatever you want without any consequences so naturally they assume that applies to real life as well. To them it's all a big joke so why take anything seriously? Hey, have fun life's short. Yolo! That's their life motto. When the sociopathic behavior of their online idols or celebrity idols is condoned and even boosts their popularity it's not strange at all they aspire to do the same - even if they probably aren't fully aware of this themselves.
Their parents are ultimately to blame because they will always come to their aid if they have problems at school or whatever. So they raise pampered and self-entitled brats who threaten to report any teacher that even dares raising their voice.
I mean we're talking about kids who Tweet about hating their parents for not giving them a white Iphone for Christmas and getting hundreds of thumbs up for it.
Displine and respect is at an all-time low. We'll see where it all ends...

what you deem is respectful and not respectful is subjective in this topic. Talking is not deemed unrespectful in my culture. People go to cemetery and talk about their life story or talk to them. Of course you shouldn't shout but people don't whisper either. They just talk normally. To me this video is just normal and respectful. They aren't being too loud and not using any slurs or being rude. Heck, we even crack a few jokes to lighten the mood when we visit our loved ones. The only time where we would be quiet is during the announcement of someone's death (when they ask for a moment of silence) and during their funeral. We like to think that of there's an afterlife then they wouldn't really want us to be sad and just not say anything every time we visit them.
Still, since the culture there is like that, those guys are being jerks for not respecting it.

Was here this last week. It is a place of honor that is guarded by the Army, not Marines. The soldier only sounds like he is "yelling" because there is a huge crowd there and he has to raise his voice to be heard. Notice, that when he talked he was not standing on the runner, he will not speak on the runner, only when the guard is changing does anyone speak on the runner, out of respect for the ones that only God knows who they are. If you are disrespectful you will be escorted off the property. It is an active cemetery. One day when we were there we heard 10 21 gun salutes, taps being played and witnessed a full honors burial, saved only for those killed in battle or a high ranking officer. All branches of the military are buried there, but guarded by the Army. It's one of the most visited places in America. Another day while we were at the changing of the guard veterans from WWII, the Korean and Vietnam wars were there. We got to talk to some. It was awesome. We thanked them for their service and they cried and wanted to tell us stories, not of war, but of how much it meant to serve their country. Most were not able to stand, many struggled to be able to stand on their own to pay respect to the fallen heroes of our nation. They fought to end tyranny of all kinds, so that people here can have freedom of speech, freedom to assemble, freedom to bare arms, freedom to vote and many other freedoms that are taken for granted by idiots who don't show respect for them.

Well done Honor Guard. In the United States people firmly believe that they have the right to do as they please when they please. This they do by preaching rights and hiding behind those rights. And, while you may posses those rights, you also have a responsibility to use them properly. If you deny that you have such a responsibility then in what way do you, as a citizen, complete your social contract. It is a simple thing as stated by Hobbes, in nature existence is short, brutish, and sad; as people we agree to be subjected by a sovereign whether it be the Institution or the the man, in order to avoid the "right to all things," and war of all against all. Of the expectations placed upon you, the decency of respect for one who defends while others do not, is of the most basic sort. Those who say that this guard is wrong because they had no legal obligation to shut there damn mouths, while correct, are also missing the point. They argue that the law supersedes the requirement of order where order is not mandated. To that I say, then act what you preach. If you truly believe that your rights to do as you please outweigh the request for human decency then by all means unleash anarchy upon the state, for as Hobbes also stated, if the State is to weak to enforce its own internal order then you have a right to revolt. But, as we all know you will do no such thing because A) You are just a whiny little pussy that wants to get your way, and B) You actually don't have any complaints but you feel like grandstanding and shining your own loathsome self superiority turd.

You and I and everyone else are wasting our time on this clown William Dickinson. He's the guy that HAS to have the last word. So, just be sure, if any of us see him around the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, or any other memorial dedicated to my brothers and sisters of the United States Armed Forces, be sure he adheres to the fucking rules. He's the type that will run his mouth just because he feels he has the right to, no matter how disrespectful it would be. Ass clowns like him always do it. he can't help it. He's more concerned about being RIGHT than being RESPECTFUL. To the Soldier who put the crowd in their place, A Salute to you Sir and my eternal respect. This is something William doesn't understand. It's just about him getting his way.
